I try to open my firefox web browser on start up but error says: Firefox is already open but not responding, please close existing browser or restart the pc. I checked in windows start task manager but I don't see firefox open.
View 9 RepliesI have just managed to get rid of one nasty virus, and then installed the Service Pack 1 on my Windows 7 pro 32 bit system. The scans are clean and everything is running back to normal now, except this: I cannot access my online banking website. When I try to, the page does not load, and once that happens, no other page, in this or another tab, can load, and firefox will hang at exit (getting the "Firefox is already running..." message when trying to start it) and has to be killed in the task manager. While browsing in firefox then doesn't work anymore (no pages load), any other application using internet will still work (i.e. skype).
This happens only from this computer, using my laptop on the same internet connection (we have a Wi-Fi router and DSL internet in my flat) everything works fine. This happens with Firefox AND IE, except that with IE it doesn't hang and I'm still able to load other pages. I'm running Firefox 4.0.1 and IE 9.0.8112.16421. The website I'm trying to access is [URL] I've installed the latest Java : (Build 1.6.0_25-b06)
My computer is only a couple weeks old. I use the latest version of Firefox and today it keeps freezing up. It will just say Not Responding. I've rebooted several times and it's still doing it. Not sure what else to do.I'm not very techie.

Around once a week, Firefox freezes (sometimes when I'm away and sometimes when I'm using it) and Windows returns an ApphangB1 error on my laptop. I also occasionally see an ApphangB1 error when using Word and Explorer[CODE]
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt doesn't affect anything but my browser. What happens is this: Once I get into Firefox any bookmarks I try to select only responds to multiple "Reloads". Nothing else in the system has non-response like this. I've uninstalled the software and reinstalled the software to no avail. I'm asking about this only because I can't find anything concerning this problem on the mozilla website. Am I alone or is anyone else having this problem also.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI need to solve my problem with "Not Responding" browser. My browser is Mozilla Firefox 18.0.1 (latest as of this date). When I browse using it, it starts normally but after a minute or two, the browser starts to "hang" and above the browser window, a "Not Responding" message shows up after the Mozilla Firefox name. This makes my PC slow down, and even opening the Task Manager takes a minute to show. But, if I wait, it will return to running status. It just too annoying to have this problem everytime I do browsing. I already uninstall and reinstall the browser but problem persists. I don't know if Mozilla Firefox is the problem, I have some doubt because I use this a long time before this problem occurred.

I had League of Legends up in the background, and I was surfing on Firefox when my mouse cursor...changed. It looks glitchy, becoming white/multicolored lines and looking fuzzy. I know that isn't right, so I immediately restarted my computer. After a few minutes it BSOD'ed, and now I am officially worried.

Yesterday while using Firefox I noticed it kept crashing, with the cause being a "BEX Event". I try opening it to no avail, everytime terminating immediately after I clicked on it. I tried Chrome and Explorer, but both of them suffered the same problem, immediately crashing due to the BEX error. I restarted my system multiple times to see if it subsides, but it reappeared promptly everytime for ALL three browsers (!) I tried Safe Mode with networking to see if its gone. Nope, same problem, with Explorer and Firefox collapsing instantly, while Chrome seem to take around 10-12 seconds of surfing before flatlining due to the same cause.
I then decided to use System Restore and managed to take my whole system back to 5 days ago when none of the problems were happening. Tried again, but nope, same issue with a BEX event. This time it seems Explorer would display it as BEX64 instead of just BEX. I tried resetting entire settings for Explorer, but the BEX error would always prevent me from doing so by shutting down the whole things before its done. I thought, maybe, just maybe, it has something to do with a faulty DEP on Explorer, and added it the list of exceptions for DEP. Still didn't work, and the system wouldn't let me add Chrome and Firefox to the list either. I tried to see if maybe I can download some new antivirus or antispyware programs off the net, except that none of my browsers work, so I have no access to the Internet in both normal and Safe modes.... Sufficient to say I am typing here from a library's computer.
My laptop was left on yesterday with numerous firefox tabs open (x20) for various websites, although no one was using the computer and this is a regular occurrence without fault until yesterday. I'd gone out fishing and noticed the BSOD and took this photo of the screen showing the full error as "stop 0x0000007A (0xc0487688, 0x3e5898c0, 0x96ed7e3e)"
I had altered the BSOD settings in the past to stop the laptop from restarting in order to have time to take note of the error codes in case of future failures, although I hadn't had any BSOD for over a year. The previous BSOD's were 0x000000d1 (netwLv32.sys) and 0x0000007e (Volsnap.sys), unlike those BSOD's, the one shown in the photo doesn't have a description other than the error code.
I had turned off the laptop while in BSOD, having completed dumping physical memory; subquent restarts were only reaching here followed promptly by a black screen with the flashing white underscore, which I could escape by alt+Ctrl+delete. At one point the laptop did load and somehow I was able to access System recovery options and selected startup repair, which I viewed the log prior to restarting and everything completed successfully and although I did restart the computer, I haven't been able to proceed further than the initial loading window or the defaulting black screen that follows.
I've tried running the BIOS setup utility, with the hard disk self test diagnostics, though this failed each time.
Not able to provide any debug logs until I can proceed further. Have the windows 7 back up DVD disc, but not sure if my DVD drive is playing up, as when I push ESC and enter into the boot menu selecting the Atapi cd/DVD rom drive, it only goes to the prior mentioned black screen and remains there long after 5 mins. The disc drive is heard to be working if the disc is within, though nothing results on the screen. I had recalled some difficulty prior to this BSOD with the CD/DVD rom, having decided it was either only a driver or possibly registry error or required itunes reinstall, as afterwards having successfully read a music cd with itunes.
I don't think I have the windows recovery discs or system restore discs, as I tried some I thought were these, but nothing occurred and I figure they must be from when I tested the windows 7 beta or W7RC or such. So only have the legit Windows 7 back up disc (32 & 64 bits), which I was running 32 bit. Only twice has it shown up "Press any key to boot from disc", although there was no response and it doesn't always reach this prompt.
I cannot start Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox because I get a(0xc0000005) error. It also prevents installation of Google Chrome.

Well afterwards it seemed like it was running just fine, until the next day I turn it on and the entire computer isnt responging (I could still move the mouse though). Well this would stay that way for about 30 seconds and then it would respond and I could click on stuff for about 5 seconds and it would go back to not responding. It seems like it does this until its been on for about 15 minutes (when it warms up it runs properly).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Macbook Pro w/ Snow Leopard 10.6x and I recently installed Parallels and Win 7 Prof x64 so I could access many of my military sites. I was up on the internet in my OWA, I had just gotten my CAC reader to work so I could access my email from home, when my computer got an update push and restarted. Once it rebooted I no longer had internet access and keep getting the DNS error message. I have tried setting the "preferred DNS & alternate DNS" addys and I will show an internet connection for about 30 seconds and then it changes back to no internet. I have tried turning off my Win Firewall and my Virus Barrier X6 software/firewall to no change. I have been on a Mac for about 2 yrs now and am trying to get the hang of Win 7 so I'm not great at the DOS Cmd like code for looking at everything. I have tried a few of the suggestions but nothing has worked and I don't know enough anymore to identify a problem when doing ipconfig /all etc. I have an Airport Extreme router that works fine with my macbook & my husbands Macbook as well, both wireless and ethernet. I however cannot say the same for the Windows partition and I don't remember enough to know where to look to trouble shoot any router issues etc. This issue basically nullifies the purchase of Parallels and Win 7 since I now can't get on the internet.

Every time I launch a game thru steam mainly Half-life 2 games i can get anywhere between 5 to 15 minutes in to it the game will freeze for a second then black screen then back to desktop with a message HL2 has stopped responding. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been receiving the ATI display driver stopped responding and has successfully recovered error. I formatted a partition on my PC with a fresh install of windows 7, installed latest catalyst drivers but no dice, ramped my fan speed up to 100% to troubleshoot and it definitely worked, stopped getting the error but pc starts seriously lagging after a while (playing spore & Black and White 2) playability also increases if I down the res from 1920 x 1080. This seems to indicate overheating n my opinion but I haven't seen the card go above 57 degrees. My chassis has no fans but with everything at stock should it overheat especially on old games. I have run Prime95 and Furmark all came out fine, no glitches. Max temp on Furmark was 84 degrees.

So I have a pretty terrible problem. Right now, I'm running Windows 7 Build 7100 on a Toshiba Satellite Laptop with Intel Pentium Dual-Core Processor T3400 at 2.17 GHz and it runs beautifully.
My only problem comes when I'm playing a little game called Guild Wars. It runs pretty good for a while and then I run into my problem. My problem is that my screen goes completely blank and then reappears with this error message.
It happens to me every time I play Guild Wars. It never fails.
Anybody know why it does this? Any advice on what to do?

If I delete the cookies it places on my computer, the home page will load and it will let me log in, but it won't load any of the merchandise pages at all - it just hangs there trying to load - I never get an error of any kind. I had been using OpenDNS after having some other trouble with my ISP, so I tried switching to GoogleDNS but that has made no difference.I ran the flushdns.bat file as instructed in the tips for posting thread, but forgot to save the snip as a jpeg before I ran the bat file.

I was using a program called NoLimits and Google Chrome on my Windows 7 computer. After about 30 minutes or so, all the programs was not responding.
After about 5 minutes or so, the screen shook and lines were on it. After that, I got the Blue Screen Of Death.
I restarted the computer. After the dell logo and below your computer type (Inspiron, Inspiron One etc), (before you see the Windows Error Recovery screen) I got an error message that said "A disk read error occurred. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to reRECOVERY."
When I press Ctrl, Alt and Delete, The computer restarts and I get the same error message. Then, I have to shut down the computer and leave it off for at least an hour.
After an hour, I turned on the computer and I did not get the error message. After I logged in, I scanned for viruses, spyware and malware with the latest versions of all my antivirus programs and no was found. I tried everything I could do and none of them worked. I am posting this thread on my iMac computer with Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.7.
