My laptop was left on yesterday with numerous firefox tabs open (x20) for various websites, although no one was using the computer and this is a regular occurrence without fault until yesterday. I'd gone out fishing and noticed the BSOD and took this photo of the screen showing the full error as "stop 0x0000007A (0xc0487688, 0x3e5898c0, 0x96ed7e3e)"
I had altered the BSOD settings in the past to stop the laptop from restarting in order to have time to take note of the error codes in case of future failures, although I hadn't had any BSOD for over a year. The previous BSOD's were 0x000000d1 (netwLv32.sys) and 0x0000007e (Volsnap.sys), unlike those BSOD's, the one shown in the photo doesn't have a description other than the error code.
I had turned off the laptop while in BSOD, having completed dumping physical memory; subquent restarts were only reaching here followed promptly by a black screen with the flashing white underscore, which I could escape by alt+Ctrl+delete. At one point the laptop did load and somehow I was able to access System recovery options and selected startup repair, which I viewed the log prior to restarting and everything completed successfully and although I did restart the computer, I haven't been able to proceed further than the initial loading window or the defaulting black screen that follows.
I've tried running the BIOS setup utility, with the hard disk self test diagnostics, though this failed each time.
Not able to provide any debug logs until I can proceed further. Have the windows 7 back up DVD disc, but not sure if my DVD drive is playing up, as when I push ESC and enter into the boot menu selecting the Atapi cd/DVD rom drive, it only goes to the prior mentioned black screen and remains there long after 5 mins. The disc drive is heard to be working if the disc is within, though nothing results on the screen. I had recalled some difficulty prior to this BSOD with the CD/DVD rom, having decided it was either only a driver or possibly registry error or required itunes reinstall, as afterwards having successfully read a music cd with itunes.
I don't think I have the windows recovery discs or system restore discs, as I tried some I thought were these, but nothing occurred and I figure they must be from when I tested the windows 7 beta or W7RC or such. So only have the legit Windows 7 back up disc (32 & 64 bits), which I was running 32 bit. Only twice has it shown up "Press any key to boot from disc", although there was no response and it doesn't always reach this prompt.
i was playing minecraft as usual and then the screen frezes for 10 seconds then goes n normaly then the screen becomes black then the BSOD i havent read much because it restarted but i was having this eror from christmas i replaced my hard driver and reinstal my windows a few times.Then somebody told me it was an overloading problem then i stoped playing like 24/7 hrs on minecraft and it was good no more BSODs and i started playing 24/7 again for about 2 weeks but now i got it again just a few minutes ago i downloaded and instaled and used BSOD veiwer and the here is it:

1.Problem describing: So i am a 13 old boy who was playing about 24/7 hrs on mineacrft in 1.8 beta and then the 1.0.0 udate camed not very far from christmas and i was playing the exactly time as mentioned before then about 2 weeks later i got A LOT of BSODsand before this with like a month i replaced my GFX card because it was completly ruinedand then after a time i replaced the HDD driver with a better one of 500gb then everything gone wel from new year until yesterday i was used to play minecarft and other games untl my comp hits 28-29 grades no more and from a time i was againplaying mineecarft 24/7 and to prevent hiting i lower my minecraft setings but the temperature was growing each day i didnt know why untl it was hitin 29 when i was playing i didnt cared to much and then i was playing and the screen stops for about 10-5 secs then going on after that i decided it was nothing and after 20-10 secs a blue screen apeard and the sngle thing that i was able to read was KARNEL_DATA..... . I have been trying to resolve some BSOD I got on my PC. To do this I also re-installed windows several times. I build and install everything by myself for years, but this is the first PC with a lot of BSODs. I used the Debugging Tool for windows to check the minidumps by myself, but as far as my knowledge goes, I didn't find anything special in there. The only thing that was obvious was that in all BSODs the ntoskrnl.exe was involved. This was something BlueScreenView revealed also. In my opinion however it seems there is more to it, since the ntoskrnl.exe could probably also crash because of another driver or hardware problem.On my previous fresh Windows 7 Install I did found out once that alot of BSOD I had at that time were caused by a bad Creative driver for my X-Fi. On the web I found a useful hint, because other X-Fi users pointed to the beta-drivers for the card. The official Creative drivers are almost two years older then these beta drivers, so obviously the beta drivers should be the first choice. These drivers are the ones I use now. I also had some problem with my OCZ Vertex 3 MI, like most owners of this hardware, and the problem was the unstable firmware. I am using the latest firmware now, which is 2.15, and that made the system alot more stable. The third problem is happening in POST: my logitech G110 keyboard features an USB hub and connection for media. These kind of USB keyboards had some problem with recognision and initialisation in the UEFI BIOS. For that I also updated to the latest BIOS for my motherboard.
All in all you can see I discovered and tried to fix a lot of different causes for BSODs. I also ran memtest once on the system for two hours, but this was in Dual Channel setup. Didn't gave any errors anyway.The latest minidump is created by the use of Verifier. I turned verifier on to test the two drivers for my AMD HD6970(crossfired). After 5 minutes in windows the BSOD appeared. I am using AMD Catalyst 12.1 drivers. I tried this, because the BSODs all are different then the ones I had on previous Windows 7 installations (on the same pc), but the only thing I changed in the current installation, was the AMD 12.1 drivers.I reinstalled windows about two weeks ago, after using Secure Erase on my SSD. I installed only the latest drivers for all the things that need drivers. The complete installation, including windows updates and drivers, was without any fault. One day later the first BSOD appeared, etc. I use the system to play Battlefield 3 only, since the fresh install. Strangely, I played more then 50 hours in the game, without any crash or BSOD! The new AMD FX-8150 processor is the first to support native 1866 MHz DDR3. The motherboard specification showed that the board supported 1866 (OC), thus it's seen as an overclock. I set all settings in bios like the ram specificiation told, which is: 9-11-9-27 2T @1.65V. Still, it could be that the 1866 MHz is too much on standard NB voltages? It's something I couldn't find an answer to on the internet, and since I never overclock I don't have that much experience with the voltages.
All BSODs happened in different situations, like just after windows log in, or when I start a program, or when idling, or when browsing the internet.Since I couldn't figure out any more usefull details out of the minidumps, I hope someone here with more experience could check the attached files.
I have about a dozen Firefox tabs open on my taskbar at the bottom of the screen. Win7 64bit on Dell E6510. But some of them will shift position on the taskbar on their own. Happens all the time, and it's very aggravating because I'm needing to be able to hit them quickly and often and need to have them stay in the expected position. Can't afford the time to hunt around for them. For example [URL]will often move itself to the far right. Even BigCharts.com is doing this now. None of my searches on the web can answer how to stop this. It's easy to grab/drag a tab window for another application around on the taskbar, but within the single application of Firefox this doesn't work. Why/how are these windows shifting around? This never happens on my other laptop, a WinXP SP3 machine.
When i pass over the icon of firefox on my toolbar at the bottom of the screen( unsure of its real name but the bar with the time and start icon) each and every tab shows up separately. just today i repartitioned my hardrive, and before the reinstall it only showed whatever windows were open, no matter how many tabs were in each.If there is any way i can return it to the old state that would be fantastical, i find it much easier to keep track of my browser and the windows i have open
For Firefox 17, "Clear recent history"+"Everything"+All boxes selected sometimes does not clear all history of recently closed tabs & windows . I really don't know why but somebody said some of my installed plugins may make this error occurred.
Until a few months ago, when I closed firefox, all tabs at once, or shut my pc down with the tabs open and later booted the pc and opened firefox, the tabs that were previously open would open again. Some time ago a firefox update stopped the previous tabs from opening. I have some forums that I read and would like for them to open as before. How to make them open automatically as before or did firefox do away with that option?
My pc is only a few months old But, for some unknown reason every time I go to the internet explorer & choose a site to find information no matter which site. It closes down & goes all the way back to my screen saver. (This can do it from the 1st 30 seconds to maybe upto 2 mins) loosing that site & having to re-type the whole thing back in all over again. I have tried all over the place trying to find solutions to this . But to no avail. I do not have my browser history either that seems to have disappeared as well.
All of a sudden I can no longer open or close new tabs using the middle mouse click (clicking the scroll wheel) it doesn work in ie or in firefox. Also seems like it doesn't work on the desktop or any other application. I have'nt installed new updates or new programs, I don't have any "mouse software" like intellipoint. This affects both my wireless keyboard with built in trackball and a serperate wireless scrollmouse. The only think I can think of is that a few days ago I changed the the speed of my cursor.. of course this shouldn't have affected anything else.... but it is really annoying as I mostly use my computer for web browsing and always open links in new tabs..
I am using IE9 and was logged into my bank (https) but noticed after making a transaction that I had another tab open on a safe but unsecured site. Will this have compromised my https tab?
I recently upgraded my FF 7.0.1 (or whatever the most up-to-date version of 7 is/was) to 8.0 and am noticing an issue. The problem I am experiencing is that when I launch FF (regardless if its done via the start menu or the button pinned to my taskbar), it adds a separate taskbar button (a la previous versions of Windows) instead of how Windows 7 normally handles such things. In addition to this, it also does not reflect having multiple tabs/windows open on the taskbar button (the attached image shows how the button for IE(9) displays the different tabs I have open in it, as well as the vertical lines next to the button which represent the number of tabs/windows open; however, the Firefox button does not function in either way, but you can see in the image that I have 3 tabs open in the browser window).Are these compatibility bugs between Windows 7 and Firefox (that the Mozilla devs need to address)?
I have been having some hard drive issues with my Acer and I'm not sure if they are serious or not. I am not computer savvy and am planning to take the bar exam to get licensed as an attorney in a few weeks and really need my computer for the exam. I am hoping someone can advise me as to whether my problem is serious enough that I need to get another computer to use for the bar exam.
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. Bought as a student upgrade edition online. The computer is mostly new. I put it together myself and it hasn't had any problems until now. I had League of Legends up in the background, and I was surfing on Firefox when my mouse cursor...changed. It looks glitchy, becoming white/multicolored lines and looking fuzzy. I know that isn't right, so I immediately restarted my computer. After a few minutes it BSOD'ed, and now I am officially worried.
The OS is crashing when viewing a flick in TVU Player. So far, this is the only time this occurs, I can watch a variety of other video apps without any problem (knock on wood). What I did find searching seemed to point to a general concensus that the root of the problem was the Nvidia driver, but those posts were over a year old, and I would hope that Nvidia would have gotten it straight by now.
The process mentioned in the BSODs is nvlddlkm.sys, which obviously is part of the nvidia drivers. I'm currently using the latest Nvidia driver, and it didn't sound like going back to an older driver was likely a solution.
Since this appears to only effect TVU Player, one might think that it is the culprit, but I have tried several different versions of it without an improvement. Bottom line is whether anyone has any relevant suggestions, other than just stabbing in the dark?
I've encountered this crash around 6 times in the last few days, always when running games: Star Trek Online [throuh Steam], Neverwinter Nights 2 [through Steam] and Sid Meiers Pirates.I have filled in as many of the system details as I can to the profile - if more are needed, please tell me how to get the information.I also attach reports from CPU-Z, the Minidump and what I can from SF Diag Tool.The most recent changes I have made to my computer are: Defragmentation C drive. Windows 7 defrag. 10 passes. 22/04/12 approx 1400-1800GMT Uninstall multiple games 22/04/12Install driver for Logitech N305 Wireless NumberPad approx 5/04/12 [This component works correctly]It's been suggested that it may be a fault with the GPU - apparently, the driver from it was last updated 29/07/09. I'd prefer not to fiddle with it until we're sure that that caused the problem, which first arose around a month ago.
I needed to reinstall windows on my laptop, but I had to recover some files from the hard drive, so I took the hard drive out and connected it to my desktop PC. I installed the windows on the hard drive using my desktop PC too, because the laptops DVD ROM doesn't work anymore. I successfully installed windows on it, everything worked. I put the hard drive back in the laptop, booted the laptop and it popped up a BSOD saying:Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. i've been getting BSOD for about 2-3 weeks now since updating some drivers on my laptop and it is really annoying. I have Windows7_Vista_jcgriff2 with all the required files needed for someone to look at.

so lately ive been getting BSOD all the time,i cant play a game more than 15 min before i get BSOD, and when im surfing it takes a little bit longer but after an hour or two of doing NOTHINg on the computer, i still get bluescreen. i dont know what to do, i think its the graphic card that is messing with me. because if i touch it, i almost get burnt, its really hot. error code is stop: 0x00000124 (0x0000000000000000, 0xfffffa8007c9c028, 0x00000000f2000000, 0x00000000002008f) ive never posted here, nor do i know alot about this
I just reinstalled Windows 7 and added a new motherboard and cpu. I've been getting BSOD all day and it seems to be the same few errors every time, but at different intervals. I've attached a crash report from BlueScreenView.
my computer is recently crashing, I recently had some work done to it hardware wise and they had to do a fresh Windows 7 install because of all the hardware changes that Vista couldn't handle. They said if you do a lot of hardware changes, especially the motherboard you'd have to do a fresh install of Vista, and I said just do Windows 7. So a month it was working wonderfully on extensive games and recently maybe within this week my computer would randomly when loading games crash to the motherboard splash screen. Then when my computer starts up I see an AMD popup, and a Windows has recovered from an unexpected crash.

Here are some details on my machine: Gateway DX4300 AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 810 Processor 2.60 GHz 8GB RAM Windows 7 - 64-bit, full-retail Hardware purchased in 2010, Windows 7 upgrade occurred early 2011. Also, there are a ton of files in my minidump in addition to the one attached, is this normal?
My computer has been working fine for almost a year now, and the BSOD just started two days ago while playing Skyrim. I thought it was just Skyrim, so I stopped playing that and just left it for a while. Today, my computer got the BSOD during normal flash gaming, and then again 30 or so minutes later when I was trying to post here.
