this one work in per computer but its time consuming for 30 computer each Quote: Open Windows Firewall with Advanced Security Click Outbound Rules (on the left side) Click Make New Rule (on the right side) Make sure "Program" is selected and click Next In "This Program Path" go to your Firefox Folder and click Firefox.exe Block the Connection, then you'll have 3 choices I usually leave them all selected. Name it.
I have blocked all outbound traffic in the advanced firewall window and have tried to make a rule to allow Internet Explorer and Firefox through but with no joy. I have looked through previous posts but couldnt find an answer.
I have tried the Sphinx software but I don’t really need that or really want it. I just want to let browsers, anti virus and windows update through. I used to let windows update on vista through by allowing svchost through but only allowing the update service.
I allowed TCP port 80 through but that just let’s most things through.
The process I did was create a new outbound rule, choose program path, choose allow (not block by default), apply to all profiles and then name the rule. But it just wont go through so I am wondering what I am doing/not doing?!
I have also tried the normal firewall window (control panel, windows firewall) and let firefox through but still didnt work for me.
My two min browsers at the moment are waterfox & chrome..As the title says, Im on a x64 version of Windows 7.Has anyone any advice for me on the best versions of Firefox/Builds of Firefox for a x64 windows?same with Google chrome.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently updated to Firefox 18. If I go to Windows' Control Panel and then click on "Uninstall a program", both Firefox 18 and Firefox 15 show up in the list of programs. Should I just leave it as it is, or should I uninstall Firefox 15?
By the way, I updated to Firefox 18 through Firefox's update feature, if that helps.
I have a different setup in that I have two Windows 7 Pro machines in a workgroup. One machine RDPs into the other. I need to block IE access on both PCs still allowing RDP access. I know I can rename the executable and I think there may be a way to block port 80 in the windows firewall but is there anything else that I can do?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm looking to block a specific network both wired and wirelessly and wondering if there is a way to do this. I spend to much time on the internet when at home. I can now lock the computers so that during specific times I can't access the home network. HOWEVER I would like to configure one laptop computer so that it can't hook up to the home network at all. Not being able to connect with the network either hard wire or wirelessly. I want to be able to take that computer to other locations though and be able to hook up wirelessly to them. So in other words I couldn't connect to the home network but can connect to other networks.

in windows vista I could block startup programs i didn't want using up system resources, but with windows 7 I cant find a way of doing that, I understand its always a good idea to have normal startup mode instead of selective in misconfiguration. but in vista I could simply block programs in component services but the ones I want to block are not even listed in windows 7! is this the wrong place to look or is blocking startup programs not an option in windows 7?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI made a post awhile back about a HDD making clicks, as though the arm was resetting. Occasionally while accessing files explorer freezes. I however noticed this has (so far) only occurred at a specific point of disk usage.I'm hoping I can some how amputate the bad section of the drive so it is never read or written to, or even seen for that matter. There are no disk errors in a scan, so I just want to cut a chunk out of it and hope for the best. Is there a safe way to do this?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have set up several outlook (2007) signatures and now they are gone. They are listed in the drop down menu when I click insert, signature; but when I select one, it does not appear in my e-mail. nothing does. I am not able to edit or delete them. I am able to create new ones but can't use the same name as the old ones, because a pop up say it already exists. I did some search and found out the htm, txt, and rtf files are located in C: user, <user>, appdata, roaming, msoft, signatures. I see both the ones that won't appear and the new ones I created. Not sure if this is related to my issue, but i ran a few free scans to see if i could find and fix problem. (regcleanPro, RegBoost, CCleaner) they all found a ton of errors. I'm missing a load of HKEY files, plus other stuff, too much to list.
