Aug 23, 2009I'm running Windows 7 64 bit on a computer I built with an i7 920 CPU on an Asus P6T motherboard and 6GB of DDR3 ram. Every time I try to connect via Cat 5 wired DSL connection it adds an additional "Unidentified network (public network) and lists "Multiple networks under the middle icon on the Network and Sharing Center with a red X between that and the Internet. I have tried everything to get rid of the extra network but nothing has worked. It initially worked fine, but after getting a "critical update" it began to do this intermittently, now it does it all the time.

Apr 18, 2011Whats happening is every time his girlfriend turns on her computer (its a little acer aspire d255) it automatically connects wirelessly to their network. And as soon as it does it kicks his computer off the internet and it is a wired connection. I played around with some router and firewall settings and I got it so that his computer will reconnect after a while but it still disconnects every time the acer tries to connect. They said they tried it at there parents and the acer connects fine and doesn't cause any issues there.
Both computers running win 7 and he has a linksys router.

Feb 13, 2012I'm looking to block a specific network both wired and wirelessly and wondering if there is a way to do this. I spend to much time on the internet when at home. I can now lock the computers so that during specific times I can't access the home network. HOWEVER I would like to configure one laptop computer so that it can't hook up to the home network at all. Not being able to connect with the network either hard wire or wirelessly. I want to be able to take that computer to other locations though and be able to hook up wirelessly to them. So in other words I couldn't connect to the home network but can connect to other networks.

Cannot Block Startup Programs
Dec 11, 2009in windows vista I could block startup programs i didn't want using up system resources, but with windows 7 I cant find a way of doing that, I understand its always a good idea to have normal startup mode instead of selective in misconfiguration. but in vista I could simply block programs in component services but the ones I want to block are not even listed in windows 7! is this the wrong place to look or is blocking startup programs not an option in windows 7?

May 12, 2011I have set up several outlook (2007) signatures and now they are gone. They are listed in the drop down menu when I click insert, signature; but when I select one, it does not appear in my e-mail. nothing does. I am not able to edit or delete them. I am able to create new ones but can't use the same name as the old ones, because a pop up say it already exists. I did some search and found out the htm, txt, and rtf files are located in C: user, <user>, appdata, roaming, msoft, signatures. I see both the ones that won't appear and the new ones I created. Not sure if this is related to my issue, but i ran a few free scans to see if i could find and fix problem. (regcleanPro, RegBoost, CCleaner) they all found a ton of errors. I'm missing a load of HKEY files, plus other stuff, too much to list.
