(I've got Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit) Every time I click to run the .exe I either get that Windows cannot find the specified path, or that I don't have permission to run the program. I'm the administrator on my PC so I don't understand why I don't have access to run this program.

(a right click on the tray and select this option) or (enter in the firewall window and click on a button -> Block all traffic). Is there a method or a button that i haven't discovered? Or there are some fast steps in which i can do this thing? I'm using Windows 7.

For some reason, I do not have the details, Windows Updates clobbers the Citrix client, thereby she cannot access her work. Note that Windows performs these updates without asking the user if they want these updates to be performed. We have to uninstall the Windows Updates and reinstall the Citrix client to get her VPN working again. How can I setup her laptop to block (or at least ask the user) Windows from performing updates so that it does not affect her Citrix VPN access?

As per the FAQs my expertise is well above average, but I'm far from a systems admin. I'm a hobbyist C++ coder.
I'm using Comodo and whenever I select scvhost.exe [812] and block it, the scvhost.exe [1004] gets blocked as well.
Extremely annoying because, the PID 1004 is required for my DNS to function... websites won't work right without it unless I type the IP address. [812] looks like some sort of Microsuck phone-home BS... whois has it registered to them. I have updates disabled so they need to get off my stuff!

View 1 Replies View RelatedBasically all i want is to protect my content from getting copied to a USB FLASH Drive or through a ethernet cable to some other computer so all i want is to stop access to these places
I tried some of the things already -
1. Password protecting (does not work)
2. Disabling USB Flash Drive through BuduLock software (does not work)
SO all i want is a concrete and absolute solution, if there is one, to protect my data in my computer and stop it from being accessed by others through above stuffs i mentioned.
I have two SATA hard disks on my Dell Precision 690. I had Windows XP (x64) pre-installed in first disk. Recently I installed Windows 7 in the other disk. The Windows 7 works well and I get options to log into either Windows at startup. But I curiously observe that I cannot VPN to my employer from that Windows 7 installation. Also, I installed LogMein and that too is blocked. I have installed VMWare on the Windows 7 and I could perfectly run VPN and LogMein from that VMWare installation. I have tried hundreds of advises and settings in the Services section to no avail. I even cleaned the Windows 7 install and started afresh; still cannot log to VPN

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running Windows 7 64 bit on a computer I built with an i7 920 CPU on an Asus P6T motherboard and 6GB of DDR3 ram. Every time I try to connect via Cat 5 wired DSL connection it adds an additional "Unidentified network (public network) and lists "Multiple networks under the middle icon on the Network and Sharing Center with a red X between that and the Internet. I have tried everything to get rid of the extra network but nothing has worked. It initially worked fine, but after getting a "critical update" it began to do this intermittently, now it does it all the time.
View 6 Replies View Related[code] I never had this issue on Windows Vista, occasionally my internet will randomly dropout. Limited Internet Access". When it does I can do a few things to get it working again:
- Disable, then enable my wireless card and reconnect.
- Uninstall the card, then re-install and reconnect.
- Disconnect from the internet myself and reconnect.
Either way it gets super frustrating. There is 1 other computer plugged directly into the router that does not experience any issues. In addition, I have 1 laptop (windows 7) that works great and 1 laptop (Windows XP) which works great.
First things first, these are my computer specs[CODE]

anyway, after charging it up and turning it on, i started to install programmes and other bits and bobs. e.g ituens, flash player. just the usual essentials. i used the laptop to watch videos on Internet, genenral browing such as facebook, so in short, the internet was working fine. just before i went to bed that night i installed avg security (free version) and ran a full scan. when the scan finished, i put the laptop into hibernate, and went to sleep! happy in the knowledge my new gizmo was running smoothly!
just before i woke up i heard the laptop turn off as it had run out of charge. so i plugged it in and charged it up, then turned it on. this is where the problem starts...i connected via wifi however the logo at the bottom right of the screen showed the signal strength meter on empty, with a yellow star covering it. i clicked the icon, and it said, 'not connected, connections are available' and below shows im connected with 5/5 signal strength, but on 'limited access'.

there are 28 updates, but im unable to update them as i have no internet connection. i also cant connect via the ethernet cable.i cant roll back the drivers as there are no previously installed ones, and i cant update them as i am already up to date.my other laptop (acer aspire 5630 running on vista) works perfectly fine using wifi and the ethernet cable, so i honestly dont know whats wrong. after reading things on my acer about ways to fix the problem i came to the decision to restore the laptop to the time of my first installation which was adobe flash player (which i installed the day before.) i was unable to do a full factory reset as the only options available are to either restore to a backup, or re-install windows (which requires a disc, which i dont have). i also didnt configure a backup as i had only had the laptop a day!
I have a Dell Inspiron N5110, Intel core 3 processor, and Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit os. I have recently reinstalled windows 7 from the windows 8 os. I can't access my wireless internet, I can only get to the internet via hard wire. I have searched Dell and Intel for the network controller driver and the sm bus controller driver, but to no avail.

View 1 Replies View RelatedA friend of mine brought this laptop to fix. I tried explaining him why being a java developer and linux user does not make you qualified to solve these kind of problems, but he didn't want to listen.I tried using ethernet, booting into safe mode, removing 0.0.0.0 route, winsockfix and reseting ip stack, disabling ipv6, removing network card, reinstalling netowork drivers, scanning with security essentials and some malware scanners. Although he told me that he tried installing Dr Web and it failed so it may be some sort of virus/malware/rootkit that was undetected by both security essentials and various rootkit/malware applications (Malwarebyte's anti-malware, tdskiller)DHCP does not seem to be working so I had to specify settings by hand. I can ping to router and other local machines but that's about it. I can't event load html/php from router. DNS does not work either. Pinging ISP DNS fails with: "PING: transmit failed. General failure.".
