My two min browsers at the moment are waterfox & chrome..As the title says, Im on a x64 version of Windows 7.Has anyone any advice for me on the best versions of Firefox/Builds of Firefox for a x64 windows?same with Google chrome.
I recently updated to Firefox 18. If I go to Windows' Control Panel and then click on "Uninstall a program", both Firefox 18 and Firefox 15 show up in the list of programs. Should I just leave it as it is, or should I uninstall Firefox 15?
By the way, I updated to Firefox 18 through Firefox's update feature, if that helps.
After installation, in IE8, I can initiate a file download and it will proceed to DL the file but upon finishing, the file disappears from the saved location. I then installed Firefox from a flash drive without issue but when I DL a file in Firefox, it also proceeds to DL the file but upon the end produces an invalid file with 0 bytes.
I can't download anything using Fire Fox? Even when I right click to 'save link' as, it gives me a file with an html suffix but not the file I want ?I'm using Fire Fox 7.0.1. on windows 7 64 bit machine
My computer is only a couple weeks old. I use the latest version of Firefox and today it keeps freezing up. It will just say Not Responding. I've rebooted several times and it's still doing it. Not sure what else to do.I'm not very techie.
I'm running Win 7 64bit and this past week I started getting BSOD restarts several times a night, mostly when using Firefox 5. I just uninstalled/re-installed it and got a blue screen 20 minutes later. The message that pops up after the restart shows two files, one a minidump but I don't know what to do with it. I've updated my graphics drivers, Windows update, scanned with Windows SE and Malwarebytes with nothing being found. I don't know what steps to use to start diagnosing the problem.
I have been getting BSOD's only when using Firefox. Started happening about 2 - 3 months ago. Stopped using FF and have been using IE 9 for the last month and have not had one BSOD since, but I really hate IE. I downloaded the latest version of FF yesterday hoping that a new version might have fixed the issue. Five minutes later and BSOD again.
I installed WINDOWS FIREWALL CONTROL on my Windows 7 system. I have Internet access with games but not with FIREFOX or MAIL WASHER PRO. I decided to not use WINDOWS FIREWALL CONTROL and deleted it from my computer (there was no uninstall entry). Now even though FIREFOX and MAILWASHER PRO is listed as being allowed by the Windows firewall I can not access the Internet. Should I use the system restore feature or am I missing something else. If I turn off the firewall I have access but of course that is not an option I want to go with
i just got a fresh installed a firefox 4.0 browser but i got this message: The proxy server is refusing connections
Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections. Check the proxy settings to make sure that they are correct. Contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working.
When I try to play any live streams or any media files online, that could be played using WMP, Firefox always shows I have to download the WMP 11 PLUGIN though WMP 12 is the default player in Windows 7. However, it works with CHROME.
Im browsing on Firefox and im getting this error, Im new to BSOD's so i have no idea what to do, Could anybody post on here what else i should include? Also this is my old PC (The System specs are different from the ones in my profile)
I am trying to download mozilla firefox to use instead of explorer....it keeps telling me to check my proxy settings or my internet....my internet is running fine.....how do I get this freeware on my computer? What is required to download?
I have downloaded firefox; but it will not open. the hourglass appears for a split second..and goes away.but...when i tried to uninstall FF, i got a msg saying that i needed to "close it" first! ??? how can i close it if it never opened? i'm confused. apparently it's open?
I want to download and install Firefox . It gets confusing downloading Firefox from some sites. They seem to load your page with a lot of unwanted popup ads that I can't get rid of.What are the reliable sites to download such as Firefox ?
First of all I do have the "Remember passwords for sites" checked. I was able to get it to remember a few PWs when I first got the computer but now FF won't have a popup asking if I want to remember the PWs. What can be causing this?
I just ran Ccleaner and ran the registry cleaner and well as cleaned all the temp files and such. Now I find that I cannot access my email in Firefox or IE. Cookies are enabled in Firefox. Does anyone have any tricks I can try?
built my own computer for the FIRST time...everything is working fine EXCEPT....am unable to download Firefox and Yahoo....windows 7 and IE9....64 bit...motherboard is ASUS M5A99X EVO. Have 8gigs Ram.On DSL 1.5
Every time I am browsing with firefox it freezes up randomly. But most of the time when using hotmail. I am running firefox 8.0 on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.
Now I have found out that it is most likely the cause of all the plugins so I will post a list of all the installed plugins. Though most of them I do not remember allowing them to install.
The enabled plugins are:
- 2007 microsoft office system - bank e-dentifier - adobe acrobat - divx web player - google update - itunes application detector - windows media player - nexon game controller - npffapi - quicktime - realplayer plugin - shockwave flash - silverlight
Disabled ones are:
- BYond stub - divx vod helper - getplus for adobe - google earth - google talk - java deployment toolkit - realjokebox NS - reallusion CT4player - realplayer G2 Liveconnect-Enabled - Shockwave for director - Yahoo application state
Exensions are:
- Adblock plus - Element Hider - Final Fantasy Radio toolbar (which I wanted) - Zonealarm security toolbar
Windows 7 x64 Home, Dell XPS Desktop PC. To start, I can boot into safe mode with networking, and cruise facebook and everything else just fine for him on IE. Having issues with re-installing Firefox since it keeps locking up and crashing (BSOD). I can get in and most things on the PC tend to run fine, then gets slower and slower with nothing big on the processes list in task manager. If I open either IE or Firefox, the thing locks up, can't even CTRL+ALT+DEL. I have ran AVG scan, ran Malwarebytes scan, uninstalled Firefox, uninstalled all javas, updated IE to 9 via Windows Update, and reinstalled javas/firefox again. Still crashes. My thought is that it has to be an addon or some crap somewhere since it runs fine in safe mode? The only add-on I had enabled in Firefox was the Java SSE Add-in or something like that. Not sure now since it won't re-install.
I have an HP Photosmart 5510 printer but in About:Config it shows three. The first is an old HP Deskjet we used to have which died and went to the skip. We were without a printer for a few months and then bought the HP Photosmart 5510 which I like. The third in the list is shown as a HP Photosmart 5510 (Network), obviously the same. The first needs removing, how do I do that please? The second is the current printer and is correct.I can account for the third entry. I've tried to set up a Home Group Network between PC and Netbook, without success, a suspect I may have changed the printer name for networking and perhaps gave it an IP No too.
