File:\boot\BCD Status: 0xc00000e9 Unexpected I/O Error Has Occurred
Dec 23, 2011
I have had an HP Envy 14-1110nr for just under a year now and suddenly it has been giving me problems the last few weeks. It started with a couple of hangs or random crashes over the first week. After 2 or 3 of those, the computer simply wouldn't start up. Every time I would turn the laptop on, it would get to a certain part, give me the following error and then restart, over and over.
"File:\boot\BCD Status: 0xc00000e9 unexpected I/O error has occurred
Nothing seemed to be working, and then finally last night I started getting errors from just about everything saying that my HDD was rapidly failing.SMART HDD Error 301 Intel Rapid Storage Technology gives me a warning saying something is wrong with the HDD.Microsoft also gave me an error saying that the HDD is at risk and to back up my files immediately.After doing one final test I was able to get the boot problem solved, at least it seems to be fixed for now but the errors are persisting. Could all of the errors that I'm getting because of that boot or is the drive really broken? Chkdsk shows absolutely nothing wrong with the drive at all, no bad sectors, nothing. Could it have something to do with the boot error that I was getting before or is it likely really damaged?The HDD in question is a Samsung HM640JJ 640GB.

I get this error using both a HOme premium DVD and using the HDD on this system ... best I can tell it is not giving me options about what sort of boot to attempt. Not sure the hardware is healthy but there are no removable devices present [that is no sd card, no usb thingies plugged halfway in, just the dvd drive which is either empty or with the Windows 7 disc, depending on attempt]

It's running Windows 7 Pro x64. When I attempt to start it up, it starts up the Windows Error Recovery program, suggesting that I launch Startup Repair, and allowing me to start Windows normally. In both scenarios, I get the same error.When I start normally, I get the Starting Windows text, then I get a solid white bar with Windows is loading files... above it. It fills up halfway, then I get Windows Boot Manager error 0xc00000e9: An unexpected I/o Error has occurred.This computer is a stock Dell Inspiron 530s, with no new hardware devices added or removed in recent memory (other than starting from a USB stick once or twice, but not since I installed Windows 7 Pro x64 on here).How should I proceed?hould I plug in a USB stick I have Xubuntu 9.04 on and backup all his files before I do anything?

It doesn't have a recovery partition so I've burned the ISO and planned to use the Key on the OEM sticker on the bottom of the machine. However, when attempting to boot from the DVD I burned (got the ISO file from mydigitallife.info) the screen shows me the "Windows is loading files" then immediately gives me the following error.Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer.This error...

I ran chkdisk /f with no bad sectors...I am at a loss here? I've also run AVG's Rescue CD to second check my guess that the hard disk is fine. I am not 100% sure that the CD drive is perfect, but also haven't had any issues running anything from the CD while in Windows either that I know of?

I recently switched out an older Netgear router for the Netgear WNDR3300. I have a 1TB WD MyBookWorld connected via ethernet to the router. Ever since the router switch I have been having two specifice issues:While uploading videos to Facebook, the video will upload anywhere from several MB up to over 100 MB, then stall, saying it's still uploading but trust me, it isn't. I can copy files/folders from the networked hard drive to my computer flawlessly, but when I try to copy files/folders from my computer to the networked hard drive, it copies anywhere from a few seconds to maybe a couple minutes then stalls out, giving the error message: "Network Error. There was a problem accessing [\SERVERFOLDER]... Make sure you are connected to the network and try again." with Retry, Skip and Cancel. When cancel is pressed it gives: "An unexpected error is keeping you from copying the file. If you continue to receive this error, you can use the error code to search for help with this problem. Error 0x8007003B: An unexpected network error occurred.
Other useful information: on the new router, the WNDR3300, if I use WEP security, I can copy files/folders to the hard drive, no problem. However if I try to use WPA/WPA2, the abovementioned problems occur. I would use WEP and just forget the hassle, but WPA2 is much faster and more secure, so I really want to get this fixed.I also believe the two problems are somehow related, considering they both involve working for a few seconds to a few minutes, then stalling and failing. Could this be somekind of authentication or something to do with WPA/WPA2 that I'm doing wrong?

I am unable to install Windows 7 or XP on my new build. I own a Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit Disc and the XP Disc is from my old PC. After choosing to boot from my optical drive, I receive a Windows Boot Manager scree that tells me that Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer.
Status: 0xc00000e9
I have tried the following:
- Rebooting my PC and only having my SSD connected to my MB (no beeps)
- Rebooting my PC and only having my HDD connected to my MB (no beeps)
- Trying both of my HDDs connected to my MB (no beeps)
- Having both of my HDDs disconnected. (no beeps)
- Trying to install Windows XP, but I received a similar error (no beeps)
- Changed the SATA mode in my BIOS from ACHI to IDE - (my pc then made loud, rapid, and continuous beeps)
Do I have to send my drives back for an RMA or is my MB bad? Everything is powering on, but I do not know what the problem is. Could it be my SATA 6GB/s cables?
Build:
- Motherboard: ASUS P8 Z68-V/Gen 3
- Processor: Intel i5 2500k
- Memory: G.Skill 4GB x 2 DDR3 PC12800

I turned on my pc, and it would not let me get past start up, saying
file : Windowssystem32
tkrnlpa.exe
status : 0xc00000e9 Info:
Windows failed to load because the kernel is missing or corrupt
I tried a few things, mostly the startup repair option that it would (recommend) to me next to the start windows normally option. this did absolutely nothing, and the problem continued. So I said ok, I give up, and decided to back up everything and completely reformat and reinstall windows. I did this, it installed successfully. I couldn't believe it...even after completely reformatting, I could not get past start up. The system repair option still does nothing, even with the disc in and I tried reinstalling it a bunch of times, but now it wont even do that correct all the way through, keeps coming up with errors talking about files either missing or corrupt. I wiped partitions and tried again alot of times, but nothing. Now it doesnt even recognize windows 7 as being installed at all. [URL]

I am trying to configure a wireless network on my desktop pc. I am using a IOGEAR Wireless-N USB 2.0 Adapter. The drivers are the latest ones. No wireless networks are showing up. Whenever I try to manually connect to a wireless network, I receive the message "an unexpected error has occurred". I am unable to troubleshoot it or continue. At first i thought it may be the adapter, but it works fine on other computers. I also tried a different adapter with the latest drivers installed; same problem. I tried a direct connection, and I am able to connect perfectly. It's solely a problem with the wireless and thus it leads me to believe that windows 7 is the problem. I'm running 32 bit windows 7. (the drivers are 32 bit for the adapter). Tried a fresh install as well. Same issue.

I downloaded an ATI Graphics driver from the sony website then when I launched the installer, it says: "checking system information.." then after that something will pop up saying "an I/o error occurred while installing a file. This is normally caused by a bad installation media or a corrupt installation file." What's wrong with this? I used internet download manager to download the file, although while I was downloading it, there was a blackout but when the electricity came back I quickly resumed downloading it.

i have a dell inspiron Laptop and I'm running (or trying to run) windows 7 home 64 bit
1.)One morning windows would not start all or a sudden (i'm guessing due to an automatic windows update), it would only let me go into the recovery mode.
2.)I tried several of the recovery options to no avail until i finally got one to work.
3.)After that windows was working but was EXTREMELY slow despite my best efforts
4.)I decided to do a complete factory restore using my restore disks (the ones you make when you first get the computer)
5.) this worked perfectly and windows seemed to be running great until I restarted, and on the restart it took me to a black and white screen that gives me the 3 instructions (none of which help). the status on that screen says 0xc000000e9
6.) the only thing i can do is boot to the recovery disk and reformat again, and the same thing then happens: windows works great until i turn off or restart, then I'm back at the black and white screen.

I am trying to install Win 7 Ultimate x64 on my roommates laptop. It was having severe issues booting into 7 already so I decided to just wipe it and re-install. I started with a DVD copy and upon boot he realized that his DVD drive was broke. FML. But we can boot from USB so I go buy a large flashdrive and DL a copy of Windows 7 and make it boot-able. So I plug it in and when it starts to load windows files it makes it about 10% and stops.
Then throws an error 0xc00000e9. "An unexpected I/O error has occurred".
Now I know my USB is good, I just bought it. The DVD Drive is messed up but its not being used in any way. It's an older Sony vaio, Core 2 Duo, 2gb ram, the model is burnt off the bottom.

his past week, my little one dropped my laptop on the floor which gave me error 0xc00000e9. I reinstalled Win 7 and everything seemed to be back to normal. Once I logged on, the computer operated so slow that it lagged when typing. I went to control panel and found out that none of the Microsoft, Intel programs were listed. I then realized updates weren't turned on, so I tried turning it on, but it gave me an error. This was the same error I got with many of the services not willing to turn on. I then went to services and tried turning it on from there, but I got error performing inpage operation. After that, I tried CHKDSK L: /R, but after waiting 5 days, it wouldn't move in stage 4 of 5.

Just wanted to reinstall my Windows 7 this morning due to the fact that my dvd writer did not read of write CDs. After some research I learnt that a re-install will do the trick. how I don't know.My system statrt up, loads the windows 7 files and then comes up with the Windows Boot Manager screen stating that it has problems communicating with a device connected to your computer. Status: 0xc00000e9 Info: An unexpected I/O error has occurred.I have tried my 2 SSD drives in Raid 0 and also a single HDD with the same results.My DVD writer is an IDE model, but I can't think that this is the problem since the first time I used this drive and the same original Windows 7 Ultimate Disc there were no problems.I even went as far and got a PS2 keyboard to avoid any USB devices and also downloaded a full untouched version of Windows 7 with the same error! (Maybe my disc got scrtaches after its first use, I don't know)

So yesterday in the early AM's I was browsing my internet and all the sudden, bam.i lost my internet.No reason at all, it just happened. This is only my computer, everything else works fine (If internet is out, our TV's don't work)When I go to my little internet icon in the taskbar, it says Unidentified Network and I have no internet access what so ever.When I run CMD and use ipconfig /release I get this:"An error occurred while releasing interface Loopback Pseudo-Interface 1 : The system cannot find the file specified."I also got this error before:"An error occurred while releasing interface Local Area Connection : An address has not yet been associated with the network endpoint." Tech support kept telling me to use ipconfig /flushdns but whenever I entered it into CMD it gave me an error saying something along the lines of "command unrecognized" I cannot give you guys the full text of what CMD says since it's on a different computer.I am using a direct ethernet cord, not wireless.
* ipconfig /release and /renew and /flushdns
* Turn off firewall
* Update and Reinstall Driver
* Restarting my modem/router
* Restarting my computer
* Unplugging my ethernet cord and replugging it (also leaving it unplugged over-night)
* Manually assigning the 12 code I'm assuming IP

Some time ago SP1 launched for Windows 7. I installed but it but something went it wrong and it didn't install correcly and then i was forced to use System restore. Everything worked and i haven't used SP1 because i don't want to risk screwing up my computer before some important things, i got plenty of time later for that . The problem is after the system restore every time Vegas launches i get a error : Sony Vegas pro 10 an error occurred starting Vegas Pro Error 0x80070002 (message missing).

All goes well, it installs everything, but as it finished I get this error: I have tried redownloading, using other installers and updating my graphics drivers. Nothing will work. It's probably worth mentioning that the first time I tried installing, about a week ago, my computer totally froze in the middle of the install and I had to force restart.

I have tried to install Windows 7 SP1 64 bit and it gave an error message of: windows update encountered an unknown error code 80246007. I also get the error message after my laptop restarts if the installation shows it supposedly installed: installation not successful an uknown error has occured Error 0x8008095. I have also tried the 3 steps to try before installing Windows 7 SP1 and I still get the above errors.I would like to know the following:
1. When we update Windows where does it store the updates. Because I noticed that each time I update I loose disk space and I am wondering if I could delete these updates once I know they work.
2. I noticed a folder in the color of purple. It is: c:userusernameApp Datalocalmigwiz in this folder it contains the following files: debug.txt, diagerrr.xml, diagwrn.xml, miglog.xml, setupact.txt, setuper.txt what is the folder for.
3.I use windows disk cleanup and ccleaner. I noticed that when you install or uninstall programs it creates a restore point and shadow copies. I clean them out once a month. Is there anywhere else that shadow copies are created and can be deleted. How about does Windows 7 has a cache where we need to delete files. How many temp folders does windows 7 create. I would like to retain some disk space back. Do you know if Office 2010 where it stores it updates and can we delete them once we know they work.
