Ethernet Card Not Being Recognized
I installed the 7022 x86 version of Windows 7. Everything installed fine and there were driver issues which I anticipated but my Ethernet port is not working on Windows 7 or any other OS for that matter.
Its a very strange situation. After it was not seen I Windows 7 I booted from my 2nd drive which has Vista on it and it was not seen there so I booted from my XP drive and it was not seen on there either.....
I have re-downloaded all the drivers for each version of the OS but none are making the NIC discoverable.
I have an nVidia 680i SLi & I am using the on board port.

Homegroup Works With Ethernet Card Not With Wifi
I've started a homegroup on a desktop pc running windows 7 RC 64-bit and connect to my router through an ethernet card. I can join and use this homegroup from my netbook running windows 7 RC 32-bit but only when using the ethernet (wired) connection. As soon as I unplug the network cable the homegroup becomes unavailable and cannot be joined again. Yet this netbook can use other network services and in particular the internet with either the onboard wifi or with the ethernet card. The homegroup troubleshooter didn't help and I cannotsee any network configuration that would be different between both interfaces (both have ipv4 and ipv6 enabled). The problem persists even when the software firewall is off on both computers. Is there something specific to windows 7 homegroups over wifi ?

Device Will Not Start (code 10) - Intel 82566MC Ethernet Card
Device shows driver is up to date, and it will not start. I have tried updating the driver, windows update, uninstalling the driver and scanning for hardware changes. I've tried downloading the driver form intel as of 1 April 2009 (rather ominous date for a release), that would no install on Windows 7. This one shoudl be good "in the box" as they say. If anyone wants logs or anything like that I'm more than happy to share. Just tell me what you need.

Driver For D-Link DGE-530T Gigabit Ethernet Card
I have installed Windows 7 x64 RC on a separate hard drive on a system that has a primary hard drive with 2 partitions, one with Windows XP, the second with Windows Vista. Both XP and Vista are 32 bit versions. The installation went smoothly after inserting a diskette in the diskette drive and all three version of Windows are available at boot time. The one disappointment was the absence of a driver for my D-Link DGE-530T Gigabit Ethernet Card. While both 32bit and 64bit Vista drivers that work with Windows 7 are available on the D-Link web site. The experience would have been better if the driver had been included in the RC package.

SDHC Card Not Recognized
We just bought an 8GB SDHC Transcend micro SD card from amazon. I did not realize there were probs. I put it directly into my tower in the card slot and nothing pops up. If I put my regular old 2GB micro SD in the slot, it immediately pops up, but not the SDHC card. Is there a fix for this? Something I can download to make it recognized or did I waste my money and get a piece of junk? Please help. This was actually my son's money; he wanted this, and I did not realize there was an issue with these until I googled the prob and had tons of people's complaints pop up.

Realtek Card Reader Not Recognized
I've got an Acer 5735z laptop with a Realtek card reader, it was working fine under vista. I loaded up Windows 7 on a fresh install and all was well. I noticed it had install a generic driver for the card reader, so i updated the driver with the correct version from Acer. This was couple weeks ago and everything seemed fine until today, when I noticed the laptop now doesnt recognise the card reader. It doesnt even show up as an unknown device in device manager, it like it doesnt exsit. Ive downloaded the recent drivers for vista/windows7 to no avail. I've also tried unstalling the Intel usb contollers and even going back to the original version of the drivers again to no avail... the only thing i can think of is reverting back to the generic drivers supplied with Windows7, but i dont know where there located on the disk or on microsoft.

Virtual PC RC Smart Card Not Recognized
issue I am having as it is causing me to need to carry a second laptop.I am running RTM Windows 7 Ultimate x64. I have installed the RC for Windows Virtual PC and created another Windows 7 virtual machine as well as downloaded and enabled XP Mode. I am trying to connect via VPN to a corporate network that requires Smart Card authentication. I have ensured that Integration Features are enable, and the smart card reader is installed, but any time I try to connect it states the following. A smart card was detected but is not the one required for the current operation. The smart card you are using may be missing required driver software or a required certificate.I can't seem to find a way to get it to recognize the smart card itself, not the reader. In my host Windows 7 machine it works just fine. The smart card reader is the following from Device ManagerTexas Instruments PCI GemCore based SmartCard controller, it is PCI based, and has the default Windows 7 driver from GEmplus Version 1.0.1.20 The smart Card is the following from Device ManagerGemalto .NET Smart Card with the default Windows 7 driver from Gemalto Version 8.1.0.1 The VPN dialer starts but it states to please insert a smart card, if you look at details it knows there is a smart card in the slot but gives the message above that it isn't a valid smart card. It does this with both the XP mode machine and the Windows 7 machine that I have created manually.Has anyone experienced this or could provide additional steps to make this work.

PVR 250 TV Card Not Recognized
I have a dell e521 Athelon 64x2, 2g memory. It came with 32 bit Vista Home Premium installed. I added a Hauppauge PVR-250 TV card. Vista immediately recognized it, Media Center started using it and everybody was happy. I installed Windows7 rc 64bit in another partition. It installed without a problem except it did not recognize the PVR-250 and Media Canter said '"You don't have a tv card!" The suggested remedy was to buy a different TV card! Thinking it might be a 64 bit vs 32bit os problem (although that wasn't mentioned) I installed Linux Ubuntu 9.04 64bit on yet another partition with mythtv. The PVR-250 Works great! Is there a way that the Vista drivers can be made to work or am I stuck with Vista or Linux?

Usb Pci Card Devices Not Recognized
I just installed a new PCI USB 2.0 card into my machine. I have a Line 6 Toneport UX8 that connects to the PC by USB as the interface for microphones and instruments. Because of the high volume of data coming down the pipe from this external interface it is pretty much a 'mandatory recommendation' to use a dedicated USB controller in a PCI slot. I also have a security USB fob for my Cubase 5 DAW. It isn't being recognized to be able to allow the Cubase program to start. It is used to verify the authenticity of the Cubase program, and Cubase won't start if it isn't there. Anyway, I installed the PCI card just fine but when I plug in the UX8 to it, Windows 7 reports 'USB device not recognized'. It is recognized if I plug it into one of the motherboard's USB slots though. I need to use this PCI card, otherwise the recording quality is useless. I know other people have this external interface and run it into a dedicated PCI/USB controller with great results. So I am hoping someone here can suggest what I can do to get Windows 7 to recognize the card and the USB devices plugged into it. I'm hoping I don't have to reinstall the OS since it will be a pain to have to reinstall again when the commercial licenses come out in less than a month (I'm assuming I'll have to reinstall since I will be using an upgrade from my XP Pro that I have not used since trying out this Windows 7 RC). I have tried to unplug the PC from the wall per other forums suggestions to supposedly reset the USB info. I have deleted all hidden devices in 'device manager' that were greyed out. This got the devices recognized, but they still didn't work. i.e. The red light on the security usb fob lit up, which usually indicates it is working, but when I start up Cubase, Cubase can't find the device and won't start. I want to be able to plug this into the PCI cards internal USB connector (it also has four external) so that when I close up the box there is no chance of me accidentally knocking the security usb fob and damaging it. I did that once and it cost me about $60 and two weeks to replace! (Some DAW products if you lose the security usb fob, you need to spend hundreds of dollars to replace the whole program... i.e. they don't replace the usb fob). My motherboard is an Asus P6T WS Pro with an i7 920 Processor and 6 Gigs of DDR3 RAM. The PCI USB card is a Bytecc USB 2.0+IEEE 1394 Combo Card (BT-PCI-U2FW) with a VIA chipset I believe.

Creative X-fi Xtrememusic Sound Card Not Recognized

The issue is that the when I try to install the drivers it keeps telling me that there is no compatible hardware installed. In device manager it shows an audio device but no available info for it. I tried the reinstall method and moving it from one slot to the other. I am running 4 gb of ram, Windows 7 64bit and do have the on-board audio turned off via the bios. I have tried installing drivers for the nforce4 chip-set but they will not work, Is that the issue? Are there a compatible set for this, I have tried the xp64 and vista 64 drivers but with no luck.

Sound Card Is Not Recognized As Recording Option
I'm trying to record streaming audio from a radio station. I used Freecorder 2 from Applian the last couple of years on Vista and had no problems. Now Windows 7 is not showing the sound card as a recording option in control panel/sound/recording. It is not listed as either an enabled, disabled or disconnected device. The only two thing listed are external. A logitech webcam and an Ion turntable. Will Windows 7 not record internal sound? I am using the integrated sound card on a HP desktop (a6119h) and am using the latest driver. As stated it worked fine with Vista SP2.

NVidia Graphics Card GeForce4 4200 Not Recognized
When I downloaded the beta I decided to really give it a test especially after the reports I heard and read about the reduced hardware requirements. I have an old home brew system that is vintage 2000. It has an MSI version nVidia GeForce4 4200 graphics card with 128mb of ram. I think it's AGP 4x. Not too shabby for back in the day. Not surprisingly, Windows 7 beta just gives me the generic VGA driver. Even if it had the driver I'm not sure if that card is DirectX 9 or not. On searching the nVidia site it doesn't look like they developed Vista drivers for this card, but I thought it never hurts to ask. Does anybody know if there's a driver out there to get some performance out of this card? BTW, I was impressed with the install. I had no device driver "problems" other than the graphics card and it works, albiet with the generic driver. The NIC card that I had in there to begin with wasn't recognized, but after some research, it was never supported in Vista either. I grabbed another NIC card out of the closet and it was recognized immediately. The other system specs are: Asus A7V333 main board, 1GB RAM, AMD Athlon 2200+ processor. Seems like adequate horsepower, although I haven't installed any major applications yet.

Acer Aspire 1680 Sound Card Not Recognized

I also searched for Vista AC97 drivers respectively Vista Conexant drivers but they all do not appear to be compatible. Does anybody know whether there is a working driver for Windows 7?

Problem Getting Ethernet Frames To VM
I am having a problem getting ethernet frames with Windows Virtual PC Release Candidate available with Windows 7. I have a Windows Virtual PC machine running CentOS inside which runs the NetApp simulator which puts the CentOS ethernet interface into permiscous mode and communicates using its own MAC address (it is a NetApp Simulator). I can get this rig working in VMware but not with Windows 7 Virtual PC RC. Debugging the problem, I can see that the frames from the NetApp simulator, sending traffic to other hosts on the network and the replies reach the host operating system but are not seen by the CentOS guest (I guess the Virtual PC Network Filter driver is filtering the frames with the NetApp simulator MAC address or does not know what to do with them). How can I get the incoming ethernet frames from the host OS to the guest OS.

Installation program starts (I run it as administrator), it permits to select drivers to be installed, I select 'ethernet driver' I ckic 'continue' and I get a message windows that closes very quickly and seems that it notifies some problem.I tryied also to execute the install program in 'Vista compatibility mode' and 'XP compatibility mode' but I get same message window. Has anyone overthere some working driver for Uli ethernet? I don't want to buy a new motherboard nor network adapter to install Windows 7.

Connect To Mac Via Ethernet
Is there a way to connect a PC running Windows 7 to a Mac running Snow Leopard (10.6.2) via an Ethernet cable? I wasn't able to make it work under Vista, but I was hoping Windows 7 would have some changes under the hood to make it possible. (I have the Workgroup set up and the computers connected but when I try to connect from either direction I just get the message that the username/password combo is wrong.) P.S. I'm using 64-bit Home Premium on an hp dv3t and a Mac Pro desktop if it makes any difference.

Ethernet Cuts Out On Boot Up

I've tried all manner of different drivers in to try and get this work (since I have two ports I've tried August drivers on one and June drivers on the other) but this didn't solve the problem.
