Ati 650 Pci Card Not Recognized In Windows 7?

View 6 RepliesI have recently had some video issues with my HP Probook 6550b.
Basically, I have recently had the heat sink, motherboard and monitor all replaced. My ongoing issue is that now Windows does now not recognize my on board ATI graphics card. If I install the drivers from the ATI website it does not acknowledge that the adaptor exists at all. Conversely, under Device Manager, no display adaptor is listed.
I have also installed the 64 bit BIOS update and graphics drivers from the HP website with no success. Interestingly, If I attach an external monitor, reboot and enter BIOS. I can close the lid, and the external VGA monitor works. However, when I then log into Windows and then try to use the secondary monitor, it does not work.
HP have informed me that as the external VGA out does work, it is not a hardware problem with the graphics adaptor. How do I go about getting this issue resolved? Currently, all video is jittery and the brightness is sub-standard.
when i got this laptop with windows xp - wifi worked perfectly. I've decided to install Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit, and it stopped. I cant find ANYWHERE ANYTHING about wi-fi - not in network tab, not in device manager. I've got RTL8168D/8111D network card, laptop is Lenovo Edge 15 (302-4CG). I've checked BIOS, pressed combination of keys to turn off/on radio and installed some drivers from lenovo site (Lenovo Support - Download Drivers and Software (US)), and i still cant see the card.

I installed this USB PCI card: 5 Ports High Speed USB 2 0 PCI Card Expansion Kit 4 External 1 Internal for PC | eBay when I booted, I didn't get any alert that new hardware was installed. I think I installed it correctly into the motherboard. Is there a driver that I need to install? or it's probably becuase it is not installed correctly?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Windows 7, and most seemed to be fine. However, I just moved to college for the semester and I usually use wireless at school. I have a wireless card/adapter and it used to work fine on XP, but Windows 7 doesn't seem to recognize it at all. I checked device manager and the only network adapter is 'NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller'. Under 'Other devices' is 'Network Controller' with a little '!' next to it. This may be the wireless card, but I don't know how to make it work.I really need to get this wireless working, otherwise I could be screwed. I never removed the card so it should be in there. Not sure why windows 7 is not recognizing it (in fact, I used to get annoyed when the 'Wireless network detected' bubble popped up on XP. Now I want nothing more!)
View 6 Replies View RelatedRecently ran a bunch of malware / antivirus programs to get rid of a zeroaccess trojan. (malwarebytes, mcafee, cccleanter, eset, hitman). Was finally able to get rid of the viruses in the services.exe and desktop.ini files. However once they were cleaned and got everything back to normal, I'm having problems with my video card being recognized by anything. Only recognizing the Intel® and not my Nvidia gtx 560M. It's not listed on the dxdiag page, not showing up as a selectable option for The Elder Scrolls Skyrim. Was working fine a few hours ago. It's listed under device manager just not showing up anywhere else. Just wondering if getting rid of those viruses might have deleted some needed .dll or something

I wiped the drive to get all their vapor ware off, installed my software and everything went fine. Windows Update recognized the hardware on my machine and downloaded and installed the appropriate drivers after the wipe. Here's the problem. My girlfriend followed suit two weeks later and asked me to do the same thing for her. Our machines were slightly different but for the most part I expected a similar experience. Except it wasn't. This time Windows Update failed to recognize the Video Card after the wipe.So now she has this nice video card sitting in her machine using a Standard VGA Adapter instead of the Radeon drivers it needs. No matter how many times I download and install the Catalyst software from ATI's site it doesn't catch. What am I doing wrong?
View 9 Replies View RelatedWe just bought an 8GB SDHC Transcend micro SD card from amazon. I did not realize there were probs. I put it directly into my tower in the card slot and nothing pops up. If I put my regular old 2GB micro SD in the slot, it immediately pops up, but not the SDHC card. Is there a fix for this? Something I can download to make it recognized or did I waste my money and get a piece of junk? Please help. This was actually my son's money; he wanted this, and I did not realize there was an issue with these until I googled the prob and had tons of people's complaints pop up.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem with memory cards (SD) contents being recognized on a Windows 7 Pro machine. I am using an internal card reader, and have virtually eliminated it being a hardware problem because a new replacement unit gives the same results. The first time a card is placed in the reader after the computer is booted, the card is recognized but not the contents. In Windows Explorer, the card is designated "Removable Disk (H)". When I attempt to navigate to the contents, a window opens titled "Insert Disk", prompting that a disk be inserted into the drive.I can correct this on subsequent card insertions by clicking on the "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media" icon in the system tray. When clicking on the specified card/device (only item showing) I am prompted that "Removable Dish (H)" is currently in use". There are no applications open including Windows Explorer. Of the choices given, (Cancel, Try Again and Continue) selecting Continue results in an indication that it is safe to remove the hardware. When I remove the card and replace it, I don't get the expected Autoplay prompt, but when I open Windows Explorer the disk shows with the same drive designation, but this time with the volume showing instead of "Removable Disk". I can then navigate and find files and folders on the card.Removing the card again and reinserting it using the same procedure the second time results in the Autoplay window opening and the contents of the card being recognized in explorer. At this point everything works as expected and will continue to until the computer is rebooted.I would like to find a way to have the volume and contents of the card recognized and the auto play window open the first attempt after the computer is booted.

I have an nVidia 680i SLi & I am using the on board port.
I just installed a new PCI USB 2.0 card into my machine. I have a Line 6 Toneport UX8 that connects to the PC by USB as the interface for microphones and instruments. Because of the high volume of data coming down the pipe from this external interface it is pretty much a 'mandatory recommendation' to use a dedicated USB controller in a PCI slot.
Anyway, I installed the PCI card just fine but when I plug in the UX8 to it, Windows 7 reports 'USB device not recognized'. It is recognized if I plug it into one of the motherboard's USB slots though. I need to use this PCI card, otherwise the recording quality is useless. I know other people have this external interface and run it into a dedicated PCI/USB controller with great results. So I am hoping someone here can suggest what I can do to get Windows 7 to recognize the card and the USB devices plugged into it.
I'm hoping I don't have to reinstall the OS since it will be a pain to have to reinstall again when the commercial licenses come out in less than a month (I'm assuming I'll have to reinstall since I will be using an upgrade from my XP Pro that I have not used since trying out this Windows 7 RC).
I bought my laptop awhile ago and it has 2 graphic card drivers in it. One Intel and one from NVIDIA. It all worked fine until I decided to upgrade my NVIDIA Graphic Card driver. I think this is the cause although it could easily be something else. Either way after the new installed driver there was no way to run ANY program with my NVIDIA card. It does get recognized in the "Device Manager" but no program seems to be able to acces the NVIDIA.So I decided to download the lastest driver from the Dell site and install it. As that was the driver version I used back when it was working but I still seem to have the same problem. I don't really know what causes this.
I tried running a performance test to see if this program could use the graphic card but I seem to have no luck. Accesing the NVIDIA Control Panel and setting the desired program (or the global options) to automaticly run with my NVIDIA Graphic Card above anything didn't seem to pay off. I have searched with google for awhile but it's hard to use google if you don't know what your looking for. I found some things but I can't even tell if there connected to this problem.
Win7 as a host for VPC - Network card not recognized. I've just installed VPC over Windows 7 7077 but on the network settings I cant choose my LAN connection, I only have the option of Shared NAT?
Is there any problem reported regarding this subject?
I have been having a problem recently with my GTX 560 graphics card. Anytime the computer is shutdown when it restarts the graphics card drivers are not recognized and it begins the process of reinstalling them. Then when I restart it works again.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have got a problem which has occurred just few days ago. My TV could not and still cannot be recognised by my graphics card, meanwhile my monitor is working properly. I always use TV for watching movies, videos and whenever I am too lazy to get off my bed.
Recently I have changed my graphics card from nVidia GeForce GT 320. The new card's drivers may not be working properly and every time I turn on my PC, OS crashes on start up. Blue screen appears, showing that physical memory is being dumped. Then restarts. I select "Start Windows Normally" option. After everything loads, I get a message on my desktop saying error related to OpenCL.dll.
So one day I turn on my PC, go through all the rough start up and try to watch video through my TV and it is not recognised. I tried to repair it by checking all connections, AMD Catalyst Control Centre and "Screen Resolution" option on desktop (right click).
After my TV wasn't working with my PC, I left it alone. I was looking for solution online but nothing useful. Next day I came back from work and I tested it. It surprisingly worked and was showing all as before. The day after that it didn't work again.
Here are some answers to questions you might want to ask:My TV is 42" Philips Smart LED Easy 3D 4300 series (Full 1080p). My monitor is simple 24" AOC screen (Full 1080p) and it is connected through VGA cable. My graphics card is MSI Radeon R7770 1GB with MSI Afterburner. I have got TV connected from HDMI in my PC's graphics card to TV's 3rd HDMI plug. I have checked every connection and nothing has been touched since I was using it as usual. TV has been updated with latest firmware. So has the graphics card.
I have an asus A8n-sli board with the Nforce4 chipset. I have creative x-fi xtreme music installed on the board and the sound works fine in XP.
The issue is that the when I try to install the drivers it keeps telling me that there is no compatible hardware installed. In device manager it shows an audio device but no available info for it. I tried the reinstall method and moving it from one slot to the other.
I am running 4 gb of ram, Windows 7 64bit and do have the on-board audio turned off via the bios.
I have tried installing drivers for the nforce4 chip-set but they will not work, Is that the issue? Are there a compatible set for this, I have tried the xp64 and vista 64 drivers but with no luck.
I am having an Acer Aspire 1680 notebook with an AC'97 compatible soundcard apparently from Conexant, however unfortunately Windows 7 does not seem to recognise it automatically. I can install the XP drivers successfully but then all playback is stuttering and laggy. I also searched for Vista AC97 drivers respectively Vista Conexant drivers but they all do not appear to be compatible.
Does anybody know whether there is a working driver for Windows 7?
I have a Zotac 570 gtx connected via HDMI cable to my Asus VE258 LED monitor.I've had this video card and monitor setup working before with the exact cable, card and monitor.Something changed in my system where the monitor is no longer recognized for what it is. When i go into my Nvidia control panel under change resolution 1.Digital Display, 2. DVI-PC Display - Resolution 1080p 59 Hz. There is no DVI cable plugged into the computer and the monitor is set on HDMI input. When i go to my Audio playback devices, the HDMI connection does not show up at all, even as disabled or disconnected. When i go to play a game (Diablo 3, Skyrim, Farcry2) The game either doesn't open (skyrim) giving me the error that resolution is not recognized (but then does not give me any resolutions to choose from in the options menu) or will play (Diablo 3) but is stuck on extremely low resolutions with only 2 options.
Here's what i've done. Contacted Zotac and had them send me the most recent drivers for the video card. Uninstalled originals and re-installed the new ones. Contacted Asus (they say its not the monitor as long as its set on HDMI input) I am unable to find a driver that will make my computer (Windows 7) recognize the monitor for what it is. Zotac failed after their attempt with the driver and told me to RMA the card. So i did... i waited a month.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to connect a Blue Snowball USB Microphone to record stuff with but when I plug it into the USB port it doesn't work. Windows recognizes the device and starts trying to install the drivers but then it fails and gives no explanation. In Device Manager it shows up as "Blue Snowball" but has a yellow exclamation point next to it. When I click on it and try to install drivers it says that there are no drivers available. The light is on the device so it's getting power. I checked their troubleshooting guide and turned the USB cord in the other direction. I've restarted my computer a few times, all to no avail. I am using USB 2.0 ports and my OS is Windows 7 - Professional 32-bit.
I consider the sound card but I can play music and use skype (if I connect a 3.5mm POS microphone to the back) just fine.
Recently purchased a xai mouse from steelseries. I plugged it in and windows stared to automatically install the drivers. When it's done I try to use it, it won't track and none of the buttons work, but all the lights are on. I then downloaded the software from the steelseries website for this mouse, it could tell whether the mouse was connected or not. After changing a few settings I tried to use it and the mouse would still not track, but the buttons worked. I can't find this mouse in device manager.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've purchased a used Dell Precision 490 'born' June 2006 and 'driven only on Sundays.' The seller upgraded it for me from XP to 7 before shipping. (The genuine Windows 7 DVD was sent along with it.) The CD-ROM (TSSTcorp CD-RW TS-H292C ATA Device) is not recognized. The DVD drive works fine. The seller says the CD drive worked fine before with XP. When the computer boots up and also when restarted, the CD drive is listed as E: under "Computer" and also in the Device Manager. It does respond to a right click on E: to open the tray. When any of several CDs are run, the 'doughnut' spins for 5-8 minutes resulting with "E: refers to a location that is unavailable..." Or using the Task Manager to exit causes a gray out with "Computer not Responding." Then E: is no longer listed under Computer or in the Device Manger. The CD tray will not open.
With the CD inside it takes 5-8 minutes for the computer to shut down or restart. The CD tray can only be opened when the computer is first (re)starting. Without the CD inside start up is within 60 seconds. Using the Device Manager to update, the response is 'The best driver for your device is already installed.' Following Windows 7 troubleshooting, I've also uninstalled and rebooted to reload the driver. Checked the cables disconnecting and reconnecting the CD drive and mother board. Checked the registry for upper and lower filters (none were listed so none needed to be removed) and followed the numerous other measures listed in a thread, November 2, 2010... missing upper/lower filters registry cd/DVD - Microsoft Community Still unrecognized as above
So I just finished building a computer..got everything running on it, and now im sitting at my windows 7 desktop...my issue here is I can't get access to the internet...I am wondering if I need specific drivers or something..I thought, perhaps, it would be a simple "plug and play" procedure where windows would recognize it right away...however, that's not the case...I have tried removing the cord from the back of the computer into both ethernet ports ..I see an orange led to indicate that the cord is being acknowledged and there is probably some communication...but windows tells me there are no connections
I am using an Asus p8p67 deluxe motherboard with two ports at the back for the internet.. PS: its a bell 2wire modem/router
I'm currently looking to replace XP with windows 7 on my old PC, one so I can use it as a media centre for my TV and it should improve the performance of my machine a little.
The problem I have is, I bought a copy of windows from my local computer store, they've given me an OEM copy (not sure if this matters) and when I put it into the DVD drive it accesses for a coupe of minutes then nothing happens.
I have read that there's a lot of issues out there with windows 7 & installs and I guess I want the easiest way to get around ths issue.
What I've tried:
1. restarting the PC with the disc in it but it just booted XP from the hard drive
2. changed my bios setting to boot from DVD and restarted. The couple then hangs on a black screen for around 20 minutes and then boots XP.
3. tried opening disc in "my computer" but no files are visable, so I can't select the setup file
4. I have checked the DVD drive is working fine and it will even recognise my other copy of windows that was provided with my new PC, however I get an error along the lines of "incorrect installation disc select correct installation disc and select custom install".
5. I tried the OEM disc in my new PC and its recognised, so disc is fine
6. I checked compatibility using windows upgrade advisor it seems to say I have no conflicts and can either use 32bit or 64bit
7. I also download CPU-Z and checked that the processor is 64bit compatible and supposedly it is.
The only thing I can think of is to do a full clean install so format my harddrive and install, I'm happy to format the drive as I've backed everything up, however I've installed operating systems for years and never had this many issues. I'd prefer not to have to disconnect harddrives but if I have to then I will. I just don't see a reason why I should have to go that far to install an OS.
I have a 32-bit lenovo laptop, and i installed a 4gb ram memory into but windows doesnt recognise it and it wont let me get past the post.

View 2 Replies View RelatedTo start off, I've been having massive problems with my current laptop. Mainly just the OS which started going wonky after a Microsoft update about a month back. Ever since, I've had to deal with slowness, lagginess and many errors. After trying to fix these things manually, such as updating, removing old files I don't need as well as programs, I had to eventually give in and do a system restore. And this is where my other problem begins. For one reason or another, the previous restore points I had are mysteriously gone. I only had one from around 2 days ago. All the ones I had from as far back as a month are history. Why I do not know. I usually check up on that to make sure I have one from way back. Perhaps I may have deleted them without knowing. So much to that.
I really want to do a complete reformatting or system installation. A clean one. However, my DVD drive doesn't recognize or acknowledges any of my OS discs. None of them. And they're all purchased from Microsoft. Not even the ones that came with my laptop are working. All other discs work. Such as DVD's as well as regular CD's. I updated the DVD drivers and still nothing. I tried Fixit and still nothing. I don't get why it only does this with the Microsoft installation discs.Currently, I am using Windows 7 Ultimate on a Dell Precision M4400. 32bit. The DVD/CD is a Toshiba TSST corp DVD+RW TS-U633A. I already tried cleaning the DVD drive as well as making sure all the installation CD's have no signs of damage. And they don't.
I did a fresh install just now... my MS Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 mouse is not working. I tried re-syncing it with the dongle to no avail. It gives me a warning saying that some functions may not work until a USB or bluetooth mouse is installed.I downloaded the Win7 beta drivers (both keyboard and mouse) from MS.com, no dice.. I uninstalled them both and tried the vista drivers with the same result. Odd thing is, it doesn't even show up in the devices menu under my computer, nor in the mouse profile under the hardware tab.I'm dual booting with my XP machine and the mouse works perfectly.
