Error "0xC004F074 The Software Protection Service Reported That The Computer Could Not Be Activated
Feb 10, 2013when I booted up my computer, I got a message saying "You're copy of windows is not genuine". So now the back of my desktop is black and says "Windows is not genuine". So then I downloaded the update from microsoft. Now so when I try to enter my key I get the error "0xC004F074 The Software Protection Service reported that the computer could not be activated. No Key Management Service (KMS) could be contacted. Please see the Application Event Log for additional information." So I ran my AVS and found quite a few threats and removed them. But still I get that error.

Oct 6, 2011I have a Dell XPS M1730 with Windows 7 Ultimate and it was doing an iTunes update and the lid got closed during the update process. Now when I start the computer up it says "the user profile service service failed the login, user profile cannot be loaded". The computer starts up in safe mode and won't let me do a system restore because it says it is shut off.When I look at User Profiles in Windows 7, it states that the users profile is as backup and the default profile is the local profile. How can I fix my computer to get my user profile back up and working?

Feb 19, 2011I have worked with computers for years but this fault has me stumped.Basically every time I try to type a word in the windows search, ms office, notepad etc... a browser is launched as many times as I type.i.e. if I type help.....I get four browser windows open.I have consulted numerous techs and all say it is malware.There is one other but the name escapes me. But it found nothing also.So after much deliberation I reinstalled Win7 over the top. Still happens. Jul 2, 2009i cant start windows audio and windows audio input services (thus getting no sound) when i try and start the latter i get error message
the RPC server is unavailable
so i try to look for that service
(edit ...all ^these services are set to start automaticly)
and closes thing to it was RPC Endpoint mapper
which is already started
i go to control panel/hardware and sound/sound
and says
would you like to enable windows audio service
i click yes but fcuk all happens except
the playback/recording /sounds/communication window opens
but says no audio devices are installed what i know is BS.

Sep 4, 2011I have a Hp pavilion dv4-1225ee laptop. I was installing windows 7 in my laptop last night. I was sleepy so I switched off the laptop during the setup. In the morning when I switched on my laptop there is no display. So I attached an external monitor. When I put the windows 7 dvd, the hp logo comes and then there is a dash ( I dont get the press any key to boot) and then I get "Setup is starting services" error. When I press Ok. The same procedure is repeated.
