When i dial up, i get some Error Message 633 message about COM port being used by other application or modem not configured properly.
In device manager the modem seems OK, and i dont know of any other device using a COM port. I've tried different drivers, swapping the modem around inside the case but no joy and i'm getting really annoyed now.

basically I've just moved house and the internet isn't working. We have a modem that's connected to a pc with an Ethernet n there is a laptop co-nected wireless. Connections between comp n modems are good but modem to internet isnt. When loading ie or Chrome a message comes up 105 unable to resolve the servers dns.
System is Windows 7 home 64 bit with amd athlon II 255 Processor 3.10 GHz and 4gb of ram. Avast anti-virus. I have windows firewall on, but haven't really made any other changes. My cursor flashes the busy symbol about once every 4-5 seconds, and it does so whenever the mouse is on the desktop or anywhere it shows the regular icon. When inside this text window it changes to the text cursor and ceases to flash, however. I changed the icon only to have the new one act the same.
I just purchased a new HP computer with Windows 7 and I'm using IE9. The cursor busy circle is constantly running and nothing I do makes it go away. There are no programs trying to open and nothing being downloaded , it happens just by moving the mouse. I already ran a full scan and there are no viruses. I went to the Microsoft website forum but they don't really seem to know what is causing this problem. I read that it might be Constant Guard which is offered by Comcast with Norton so I uninstalled it but that didn't help , I also read it might be the printer software but I haven't tried that yet
From time to time when I click to perform an action I receive a notice in a window named "Server Busy". When I click on "Switch to" it goes to the start window, so I do not know which program to activate and correct the problem what ever it is. This is the message:This action cannot be completed because the other program is busy. Choose "switch to" to activate the busy program and correct the problem. There are 3 buttons "Switch To" "Retry" "Cancel"When I check the properties of the message it seems to be connected to IE. I am having a problem with IE9 that I have posted on this forum. The answers I continue to get from the forum are for problems listed in the forum at least 2 years ago.
My mouse pointer is flashing busy everytime it shows the regular icon and no problem noted while inside textbox.I performed a full scan. The antivirus installed is McAfee and I also have MBAM installed in my system.System is windows 7 6gb RAM Intel core i5 processor. Mine is comparatively a new one. I read a thread for a similar issue and ended up disabling services.msc. But now also am facing the same issue.
I don't know if I have a bug I can't find or what.I use Mozilla Firefox, and lately when I've been on the internet, this keeps popping up:A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.
I've been using Windows 7 for just over a week. The hard disk often spinning like doing something even though I wasn't touch the laptop. Before I install Windows 7 (fresh install), my old XP seems to be much more "quiet".
I have noticed lately that, occasionally, while I am reading an article on any number of various websites, my cursor will begin to rapidly oscillate between the typical arrow and the blue ring busy cursor for maybe a second at most in duration. I haven't noticed the webpages hanging in any way or refreshing; that is to say there are none of the blue rotating circles in any of the open webpage process tabs that would indicate any new webpage activity specific to that webpage loading into the page's process. I tend to notice this happening when I am reading a page with no additional interaction--I am typically not even touching the mouse when I see it occur.Basically, I am wondering what different things might be causing the momentary activity. I am using Google Chrome for my browser and have nineteen extensions installed, so, I was thinking possibly I am seeing an extension occasionally updating or possibly checking for updates. That is just an uneducated speculation out of the blue. It also may be that this has always happened since loading Chrome, that for some arbitrary reason I just began to focus on it, and, having now fixated upon it, it stands out.
i recently got ATi 7770 GHZ Vapor-X and i was jumping from happines! so when i returned home and plugged my DVI cable to the graphic card and started pc..everything runs smoothly!but the weird thing i noticed when i was overclocking my CPU and waiting...The Aero Mouse waiting icon seems shaking i thought at first i was having some kind of eye seizure or something but after many many times i found small waiting icon shakes while large and XLarge does not? even in games like sims and other..Their Waiting Icon shakes too AND ONLY WAITING or Loading icon! i was seriously mad of how the whole icons run fine except the waiting icon ,with my old onboard vga ATi 3200?
I have 16gb of memory and it's a second generation i7 2600K computer. I ran dskchk /r and disabled windows search. I have a anti-virus/malware. I've cleaned the reg. The doughnut looking cursor just spins for at least 30 seconds on every thing I do.
The issue might be on the server end. I don't know. The situation is this I have internet access and many web sites are consistently difficult to access. A good example would be Newegg.com and their pages as well as the links to their site that I click in the email they send me. The blue busy circle stay in an endless loop. I can access there site sometimes if I persistently tap F5 (refresh). While this issue is a problem with many web sites that I try to access some pull up instantly. Is there something I can do to fix this or could it be the ISP or a server issue.
I built my own computer last January and installed Windows Vista first and everything worked fine but then I upgraded to Windows 7.In the beginning it worked great, I did get the common problem of every kind of browser crashed every couple of hours and sometimes refused to load up again but i persist and put up with it.Then over the past 3-4 months, I have been getting regular BSOD - They used to be very similar screens and i am not fast enough to jott down the error codes sadly.I maybe receive 2-3 BSoD everyday and the most common issue i am experiencing is when i play World of Warcraft - since these BSoD began, this has been crashing a hell of a lot as well. I cant get an hours play on it without it crashing with the same issue.I put it to the forums with this error log Wow Crash 2/1/13 - Pastebin.com and was told to carry out some actions to see if this could resolve the matter which it did for a very short period of time (ie a day) and then came back with its constant WoWcrashes and BSoD
The BSoD happen when im on and off the game - a lot of the time its when a lot of processes are running, ie several tabs open in my browsers, spotify playing and maybe a couple of folders open - its as if it cant handle it running.I have tried to search for my dumplogs, i was told it was in %systemroot%minidump but its empty and there are no .dmp files on my computer except warcraft ones.
Outlook 2010 shared calendar showing up as busy with no details. Just started to happen and I've checked the permission on the calendar and the other user who's having the issue is set as publish editor. There are several other people that have been given access to the calendar and they are not having this issue.
The computer will stop responding, the cursor shows the busy blue ring (spinning, not frozen), and I can still move the blue ring around, but unable to click on anything. CTRL+ALT+DEL doesn't work, nothing works. Tried leaving it overnight but it didn't solve the problem. I had to force shut down by holding the Power button. This problem happens at random times, while using random applications, online or not, sometimes within a few minutes after turning on the computer, sometimes hours, but it happens almost every time. I have also tried turning on the computer and left it without using anything, and the same problem will happen.
I am using Micromax 300c EVDO modem ( Datacard ) for wireless broadband connection. In one machine having Intel 915 Chipset motherboard, it is working fine. In the device manager, in the modem category, it shows correctly as " CDMA 2000 Rev A Modem ". In another machine, having Intel DG41TY motherboard, the device manager does not show modem. Only in other devices category, shows as Data services. ( in ports category both diagnostic and service ports are shown correctly)
I hv been using Windows 7 for 2yrs on my HP DV6502AU Laptop, using vista's drivers for the same, everything was fine bt few days back its sound went off with a cross mark on the sound icon. I triesd to reinstall the drivers bt it shows "cannot find the media device for this driver". So i formatted my laptop and installed windows 7 again to check whether it will work or not. And the bad luck followed, now modem driver is showing the same"cannot find the modem device for this driver".
I can't connect to the internet on my desktop pc after I reinstalled windows. I have linksys wrt320n router and I can connect to it only by wi-fi. When I try to install router's setup wizard or network magic - it writes that my computer is not connected to router though it is connected in the same way as it was before. In the LOCAL AREA CONNECTION it is also written that network cable is unplugged...I also tryed to connect just internet cable without router - PC also didn't react. Maybe the problem is that my network adapter (nvidia nforce) is without appropriate drivers? Cause I can't find drivers for nvidia nforce networking contoller for windows 7.
I cannot get any fax software to see the modem. I used the windows fax program and I think after an windows update this is not working. I have windows home premiun
i have two OS install in my PC. one is win xp in c: drive and another is win 7 ultimate 64 bit OS in e: drive.my modem is teracom. from my windows xp i could successfully set up broadband connection and could connect internet but when i try to establish internet connection from win 7 then i am getting error like modem not recognize.
I'm having problems with my computer the OS is windows 7, Home Premium. It will not connect wirlessly to the modem. When i try to connect i get the error message "No connection available". When i first got the computer it worked fine but just suddenly stopped working for no apparent reason. My computer is still as it is at the start i have not installed any new programs. My computer is a Advent Roma 2000.
I recently purchased a small usb fax modem from ebay. It is a simple device, with a usb connector on one end, and a receptacle for a telephone line on the other end. So obviously, this is not difficult to "install". But my problem concerns getting the correct drivers installed. The unit came with a mini-cd-rom which has some drivers. But there are no instructions. It also contained a "Read Me" file, but unfortunately this was i Chinese and I couldn't read it.
The computer specs : HP200-5120IS, (All-in-one ) Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Edition Intel Pentium E5400 / 2.7 GHz, Dual-Core 64-bit Computing Cache Memory Per Processor 2 MB 4.0 GB, DDR3 SDRAM Hard Drive 500.0 GB -7200 rpm DVD-RW (R DL) / DVD-RAM - Serial ATA LCD display - TFT active matrix, 21.5 in Graphics - Integrated GMA X4500HD
New computer - Dell Inspiron 15R laptop. Windows-7 home premium 64-bit. Trying to access internet. 7 gives connection option of Broadband where ISP requires ID and Password. However, my ISP does not require this info to log on....its just "plug-n-play" I have run every test and diagnostic that I can find and the only prob I can find is something to do with the DNS, but have no way to fix the problem. The connection is Cable Modem, via LAN wire. One of the diagnostics recognizes my ISP, but still won't let me connect.
I installed the windows 7 RC with great enthusiasm but found that the driver for my speedtouch 330 adsl modem which was working fine for beta not working the problem being the setting option for world cannot be selected. Bad experience from windows7 indeed!
