Emachines E525 Stuck In Recovery Maintenance Window?
Dec 16, 2011I tried to reload the original factory format using f8/alt (due to virus). When it rebooted it went to "emachines recovery maintenance" window and inside the window said "please wait a moment". I went back several hours later and it still had the same message. I then purchased the reformat software from emachines website. I put the system disk software in the dvd drive and rebooted the system, hit f12 on the splash screen and it still gives me the same window and message. Is my hard drive fried or is there something else I can do to correct?

Jan 1, 2012Today my laptop keyboard and mouse stop working for some odd reason because some weird anti vurse popped up on my computer freezing it so I restarted it . I thought my computer frozen so I would restart it , but I just hooked up my keyboard and mouse and they work just fine on the laptop , but when i unplug them i can't use my keyboard or mouse to my computer. I am not sure if i pressed something to make the touchpad and keyboard stop working .Maybe I could have put in sleep mode or something.

Dec 27, 2009I just installed windows 7 ultimate on my daughters, acer aspire 3050 laptop. It was running vista home basic before. The vista install was damaged by viruses, so I decided to upgrade her to 7. All the hardware was recognized, but for some reason the keyboard does not work, it was working fine with the virus riddled vista install. For some strange reason the windows key does bring up the start menu, but none of the other keys seem to do anything.
They all work in the BIOS just fine. Also the touch pad does work, but the cursor movement is very jerky, and it was also fine in vista. I went to acer's site, they don't have any windows 7 drivers available for this model, or any vista drivers for the keyboard, I installed the vista touch pad drivers, but they did not seem to help. I also messed with the keyboard settings in control panel, but nothing seems to help. Does anyone have any ideas, on what I need to do to fix this. I have been really pleased with 7 on my other computers, and would hate to have to go back to vista.

Nov 1, 2009I recently gave vista the boot installed windows 7 on my Toshiba satellite A200-FT3 laptop. Everything went great however the touchpad doesn't seem to be functioning.
I've already installed the latest synaptic driver. The device manager even says that the device is 'working properly' however i can't get the pointer to move using the touchpad.
The 'Fn' functions work:
Fn+F7 to brighten
Fn+F6 to darken.
EXCEPT the touchpad: Fn+F9.
Does anybody have any ideas?

WHEN I START WINDOWS THE CURSOR AUTOMATICALLY SELECTS THE LAST ICON ON MY DESKTOP AND IT STRATS BLINKING.EVEN WHEN I OPEN "MY COMPUTER" OR ANY FOLDER OR ANY DROP DOWN MENU,IT OPENS WITH THE LAST DRIVE/THE LAST FOLDER/THE LAST FILE PRESELECTED AND WHEN I CLICK ANY OTHER DRIVE OR FOLDER THE CURSOR ONLY OPENS THE LAST DRIVE/FOLDER/FILE WHICH MEANS I CAN'T USE MY COMPUTER AT ALL.But sometimes it works fine about 30 mins and then again the same problem begins.

When this didn't work I thought there must be a problem with the touchpad itself and so bought a new one and installed it. Nov 3, 2011i have read about similar problems on here but none of the solutions worked for me. the keyboard seems to work just fine until the "starting windows" screen appears then absolutely nothing. i've tried reinstalling the alps pointing device drivers, i uninstalled then installed the newer version, nothing seems to work. the computer was working just fine until i came home from work and turned it on. this same problem happend about 2 months ago and it magically fixed it self, i just never turned the computer off again. i have 2 identical sony vaio VPC-EB33FM/BJ models, and have compared all the drivers and settings, they are the exact same (except the newer version of Alps on the broken one). i ran one of those "scan for new drivers" programs that ask for money to update drivers that it says are old and it said that the HID keyboard device driver is way out of date along with several others, but once again they are the same as the ones on the computer i am using now and this one works like a champ

Aug 16, 2012a friend of mine bought an Emachines laptop from sweden aguess, and the HDD failed, so I had to install a new OS to a new HDD... but now the Network controller just wont install... and on Emachines homepage the version G730G is not even shown.I have tried many different ways of installing, even disabled UAC, safe mode, thru command promt and still not installing. On device manager it just shows under "other devices" as "network controller" with a yellow sign on it probably its for wifi, cause it doesn't work currently also I took it apart yesterday before installing new windows... cleaned and changed thermal paste. could it be that I might have broken WIFI wire or its not connected properly? (It's a pain in the butt to take this apart and put it back together)

Aug 10, 2012A friend gave me a netbook the one in title and I believe the sata hdd is failing, I just need some reassurance. The computer is just majorly slow, done some researching on the board and found out if the drive fails to spin up so many times it will put it in POI-I mode or something like and cause the data transfer to be extremely slow. When the computer FINALLY does turn on takes an hour sometimes no joke nothing will load. Acts like its frozen, after a while of letting it sit and do its thing I can slowly start opening stuff and it starts to speed up. I've defragged, ran chkdsk, and startup repair and everything I could think of and no luck. Is the drive failing ?
