Scrolling From Touchpad Not Working
Jun 23, 2009I have a Toshiba L305- S5941, I am trying Windows 7 but I can not find any settings to configure the scrolling feature, is it a problem with driver?

Touchpad Scrolling Does Not Work?
Sep 10, 2010I have a DELL XPS M1530 laptop that I just installed a full version of Windows 7. It had Windows Vista on it before. It is a replacement computer for my old DELL (same model) that was having issues.I usually hook up a bluetooth mouse when I use my computer, but I just noticed last night when I was using the touchpad instead, is that it does not scroll up and down, or left to right. The mouse part of the touchpad works fine, as does the left and right buttons.

Oct 30, 2009After I installed Windows 7 (couldn't upgrade, had to do a custom install), the scrolling on the right side of my touchpad stopped working. I downloaded a new driver, but it still doesn't work.
When I go into the Synaptics device settings, it says that I have a "Standard Pointing Device" and when I look at the settings it only gives me options for two buttons (no scrolling options). I attached a picture of the options window I'm talking about.
Can anybody help?
My computer is an hp pavilion dv2000.
Sony Vaio / Windows 7 - Touchpad No Longer Scrolling
Dec 1, 2011I use a Sony Vaio VGN-SZ491N laptop that I just recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit on. However, since updating, my touch pad no longer scrolls. I went to the Sony manufacture site to download the Alps Pointing Device Driver, but it is only for Vista and is not compatible when I try to install it.

Jan 1, 2012Today my laptop keyboard and mouse stop working for some odd reason because some weird anti vurse popped up on my computer freezing it so I restarted it . I thought my computer frozen so I would restart it , but I just hooked up my keyboard and mouse and they work just fine on the laptop , but when i unplug them i can't use my keyboard or mouse to my computer. I am not sure if i pressed something to make the touchpad and keyboard stop working .Maybe I could have put in sleep mode or something.

Dec 27, 2009I just installed windows 7 ultimate on my daughters, acer aspire 3050 laptop. It was running vista home basic before. The vista install was damaged by viruses, so I decided to upgrade her to 7. All the hardware was recognized, but for some reason the keyboard does not work, it was working fine with the virus riddled vista install. For some strange reason the windows key does bring up the start menu, but none of the other keys seem to do anything.
They all work in the BIOS just fine. Also the touch pad does work, but the cursor movement is very jerky, and it was also fine in vista. I went to acer's site, they don't have any windows 7 drivers available for this model, or any vista drivers for the keyboard, I installed the vista touch pad drivers, but they did not seem to help. I also messed with the keyboard settings in control panel, but nothing seems to help. Does anyone have any ideas, on what I need to do to fix this. I have been really pleased with 7 on my other computers, and would hate to have to go back to vista.

Nov 1, 2009I recently gave vista the boot installed windows 7 on my Toshiba satellite A200-FT3 laptop. Everything went great however the touchpad doesn't seem to be functioning.
I've already installed the latest synaptic driver. The device manager even says that the device is 'working properly' however i can't get the pointer to move using the touchpad.
The 'Fn' functions work:
Fn+F7 to brighten
Fn+F6 to darken.
EXCEPT the touchpad: Fn+F9.
Does anybody have any ideas?

WHEN I START WINDOWS THE CURSOR AUTOMATICALLY SELECTS THE LAST ICON ON MY DESKTOP AND IT STRATS BLINKING.EVEN WHEN I OPEN "MY COMPUTER" OR ANY FOLDER OR ANY DROP DOWN MENU,IT OPENS WITH THE LAST DRIVE/THE LAST FOLDER/THE LAST FILE PRESELECTED AND WHEN I CLICK ANY OTHER DRIVE OR FOLDER THE CURSOR ONLY OPENS THE LAST DRIVE/FOLDER/FILE WHICH MEANS I CAN'T USE MY COMPUTER AT ALL.But sometimes it works fine about 30 mins and then again the same problem begins.

When this didn't work I thought there must be a problem with the touchpad itself and so bought a new one and installed it. Nov 3, 2011i have read about similar problems on here but none of the solutions worked for me. the keyboard seems to work just fine until the "starting windows" screen appears then absolutely nothing. i've tried reinstalling the alps pointing device drivers, i uninstalled then installed the newer version, nothing seems to work. the computer was working just fine until i came home from work and turned it on. this same problem happend about 2 months ago and it magically fixed it self, i just never turned the computer off again. i have 2 identical sony vaio VPC-EB33FM/BJ models, and have compared all the drivers and settings, they are the exact same (except the newer version of Alps on the broken one). i ran one of those "scan for new drivers" programs that ask for money to update drivers that it says are old and it said that the HID keyboard device driver is way out of date along with several others, but once again they are the same as the ones on the computer i am using now and this one works like a champ
