i would like an application or modification for windows seven that adds a second taskbar, this taskbar is on the top of the screen and monitors programs you may open, however it would be much better organized that the start bar (in fact it is more like the desktop, mabey even folding out to cover your screen too). It also has a start bar included for the messy stuff.
View 8 RepliesToday i modificated DEP and since then if i restart windows all my apps crashing cant open anything.The original setting was: Turn on Dep for essential Windows programs and services only and i modificated it to: Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select:and i added 2 games exe files (did this because i read on several forums that the game crash to desktop with no reason if i dont do it (and it was crashed for me making the game unplayable) )So if i start my computer and windows start i get Application Error - 0xc0000005 Usually with windows MSN, skype etc programs startup automatically, but now not and get the above mentioned error.At all i cant start Any of my programs or services, because get the same error.Tried the system restore in Repair Computer, but not helped at all.And next to my cursor the loading circle thing is always shows and blinks, like it trying to load something. It never stops.

I wonder if I can eliminate or minimum if I can stay hidden as they were, because if you change the option of keeping the system hidden folders nothing happens. OS home premium windows 7.
I apologize in advance for asking the same question everyone else has been asking but with slightly different configs.I installed win 7 custom upgrade to new blank c drive from xp/ubuntu duel boot (d drive) using a networked cdrom.I want to remove xp/ubuntu duel boot drive completely and boot stand alone win 7 on c. I have read the numerous posts about running win 7 repair 3 times after activating the c drive win 7 partition but I have no cdrom to boot with on this system. Is there another way to repair win 7 on c to boot stand alone
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn the explorer window, in the left (navigation) pane, I move the list of folders up to see what I need and when I expand a folder it moves everything down and opens with the folder at the bottom of the window So I can't see what is in it. I have to move the folders up again, expand the one I am looking for and same thing happens. Repeat, same result. This does not happen all of the time however and I do not see a pattern. Is this a glitch in the operating system or perhaps a setting needing adjusted?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhat it is, i'm trying to duel boot Win 7 and Vista, on another HD. But my system is a Inspiron 570 running Win 7 HP 64bit, and it is setup in the BIOS as a ACHI. When I run setup on Vista, I choose a Custom, where it asks for upgrade, but the upgrade is greyed out, because I'm doing a clean install, then a error dialog box comes up and says,
"Windows install encountered an unexpected error, Verify that you have the Installation source are accessible, and restart the installation".
ERROR CODE: 0XE0000100
The drive that I'm trying to install Vista on is a 80GB drive with no partitions.
I have been using Ubuntu for a while on my HP Mini when XP got corrupted. I really like how Gnome has two taskbars, one on the top to launch programs and for shortcuts etc. and one on the bottom with the windows that are open. Is there any way for me to get this in Windows? I do not need it to look like Gnome's taskbars, I just want to have two taskbars.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit home edition. I am running a duel monitor setup, the primary monitor is a 24 inch monitor running at 1920 by 1980 and a 19 inch secondary monitor running at 1280 by 1024 (it's the highest resolution that monitor can do.) My video card is two SLI'd nvidia geforce 240 1gb cards.
Before I upgraded, I didn't have any issues with the two monitors (using extended desktop.) Now after the upgrade, the secondary monitor is not 'filling the screen'. It's squished the image up and is leaving one inch of the monitor on the left side empty. When you move the mouse between the two monitors it skips over that space as if it isn't there.
Now, it's not a fault with the monitor, I tried adjusting settings and the image remains squished. I also tried using the nvidia control panel to adjust the resolution manually but that doesn't seem to work either. I'm running the latest release version of nvidias drivers, haven't tried a beta yet.
Suggestions on how to get it to use the whole monitor again like it used to? Because this is really annoying.
Edit: Upon more fiddling, I have found it isn't using about half an inch of the screen on the right side of the monitor either. And the desktop is extended down below the base of the screen, though I cannot tell how far.
I once tried to duel boot 7 and Xp (it did not work). I now have two options at boot, one of them being an earlier version of Win (that does not work) but I only want 7. The Xp install did not go through correctly because a scrached disc. Is it possible to accomplish this w/o re installing 7 completely?

Researching, I know this is a Java thing. I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times to no avail.My windows update is fully updated.I've run 3 virus programs.I notice this was addressed for someone using XP but what of Windows 7? My add/remove program file only contines the program Java (TM) update 29. Nothing else is listed as far as Java is concerned.I've run cleaner programs and these did not take care of the problem. View 9 Replies View RelatedI have been using a program called Raw Therapee. I downloaded a new version and on installing it quit saying the old version must be removed. I could not find it listed in Revo Unistaller Pro, so I did a forced uninstall with the location of the main executable. This removed a lot of stuff. I checked the program folder and the folder and many files were still there, so I deleted them. I did a CCleaner in between and after. I then unhide and show system files and deleted the folders in the Appdata of main user and admin account, couldn't find it anywhere else.
CCleaner again and reboot. Went to install the new version again and it claimed that the old version was still installed. I did a search for *aw The* and found an entry in the hidden Program Data Folder. In the Admin account it will not let me in this folder to delete any remnants of the old version of Raw Therapee.
I have an issue with my ArcSoft TV program. Recently something changed and now I get the UAC pop up asking if I want this program to make changes to my computer.Issue is this, I can set to record a program, but with the pop up now coming up, I have to be avaliable to click to record the progarm.Currently I have the UAC set not to ask (pop up). However I understand the reason for the UAC asking and I prefer it to ask. So what I need is a way to allow ArcSoft to run without the pop up, but all other programs to ask for security. What is the way to do this for this one program?

View 2 Replies View RelatedRunning Windows 7 Pro, 64bit.We have a package of scripts and programs that comprise a custom application for OpenOffice 3.2 (do not want to upgrade OO at this point). We must support our package on Win XP, Vista and 7.A bunch of our scripts start up OpenOffice by running the command: C:Program FilesOpenOffice.org 3programsoffice.exe (with arguments).Works fine on XP. Fails on Windows 7 because the OO program installs itself into Program Files (x86). Even if I change properties of the installer file, in the Compatibility tab, to Win XP SP3, AND tell the installer to put it in C:Program Files, Windows 7 still installs it into Program Files (x86). We would LIKE to have the same script work on both flavors of Windows. I know we can modify our scripts to branch on which Windows, and choose two different paths to soffice.exe, but that's messy.I can't solve it by creating a shortcut in Program Files, to the program in Program Files (x86); that's not allowed.Is there some solution in Windows 7 to find the program no matter which place it lives? Like, a semi-intelligent environment variable for ProgramFiles that looks in one place, then the other?

I gave a try to the Setup Project of VStudio 2008 to create and distribute an x86 installer of a program I develop in Windows 7. After installing, uninstalling and executing over and over some of the features of my release distribution, I suppose I broke a windows registry or something related. I can't run anymore this app, whether from executing from the shortcut or directly, it just sends an error "Couldn't start the application correctly (0xe06d7363). Accept to close", there is no other option. Later I found out that moving exactly the installed content somewhere else out side the Program Files x86 dir, the application works flawlessly. Browsing, finding and deleting all references in regedit for my program didn't fix anything. I double checked my project is fine, and also created another installer version using the tool Inno setup producing exactly the same behavior; good install, error message when executing it inside the Program Files folder. Am clueless what else to do with the OS to fix this. Using CCleaner and/or my anti virus don't show any broken reference to my program, it seems clean. Can anyone help me?
