When I click and drag on the title-bar of a window the window border moves to the new location then when I release the mouse the window springs into the re-located border.This has only started to happen after I changed the partition size of my c: drive. Obviously, some setting has been changed and I have no idea as to how to reset it.
View 9 RepliesI have been encountering a problem with a small netbook which has a 1024 x 600 screen resolution. The problem is that the window of some application is un-resizable ( I've also tried to download a small registery hack which makes it possible to resize un-resizable windows, but it seems like it won't work with that one)So, as you know, it is possible to partially hide a window on the left, right and bottom borders of the screen, but it is impossible on the top border, where the window would just go down again (while it can't be maximized though ).Is there any way to make it possible to hide a part of the windows over the top border so I can see the bottom of the window ?

Look like this figure: Then I verify the visual effects settings in Performance Options box (System Properties > Advanced system settings > tab Advanced > click Settings under Performance > tab Visual Effects):Note that I have the option "Show window contents while dragging" checked all the time by selecting "Adjust for best appearance" To let it show the contents, I have to do these:
1. Uncheck "Show window contents while dragging". Click Apply.
2. Select "Adjust for best appearance" again (or check "Show window contents while dragging" again) then click Apply.
when I restart my computer, or shutdown and then start it again, the problem is still: it does not show the contents of dialog boxes or windows when I drag them although the option "Show window contents while dragging" is checked.
Just reinstalled Windows 7 x64 (no SP1) and I noticed a weird problem. It happens everywhere, but I can best explain it with Task Manager. If you have Task Manager open and you try to resize the window with your mouse, the top tabs (Applications, Processes, Services etc.) flicker.
I have "show windows contents while dragging" enabled. I have Windows classic theme, but I asked a friend with the default Windows 7 theme and he has the same problem.
I don't remember having this problem before re-installing Windows 7 and I have the same chipset/video drivers.

About once every 2 weeks, I will turn on my computer and that function will be disabled. So what I would do is go to Computer Properties -> Advanced System Settings -> Performance Settings, and then check the "Show window contents while dragging checkbox.
Today however, in the last 2 hours, the function has just disabled itself 3 times already. Everytime, I go through the same process to turn it on and it just won't stick for more than an hour.

I have 4 e-mail accounts. When receiving mail I don’t care from which account the mail came. Unfortunately Windows Mail displays all my accounts separately which results in unnecessary clutter for me. Is there any option I can setup Windows Live to display all my accounts together?
I use word 2010. I insert for example two footnotes in first page and they are numbered as 1,2 and I insert the next foootnote in second page and its numbered as 3 but I want it to be numbered as 1 and also I all pages I want the footnotes of each page to be numbered from 1.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to an SSD. I moved windows 7 over to the new SSD and re-aligned the partition properly The drive setup is as follows:
2x 500GB WD Black drives in RAID 0
1x 120GB ADATA S510 SSD
In BIOS, RAID mode is enabled. You cannot enable RAID for one pair of drives and AHCI separately. I was assuming disks that are not part of the logical RAID volumes would be set to AHCI automatically. I have enabled NCQ in AMD RaidExpert for the SSD.WEI is 5.9 for the primary disk. The primary disk is the SSD.Other strange behanivour is that the RAID array and the SSD both appear as SCSI devices in device manager, and Windows won't accept the ahci drivers from ECS.
I seriously don't know what happened to my computer recently. Yesterday I was trying to boot my computer in safe mode and when I turn on computer in normal mode, it showed a black border around the screen. I tried to check my setting(resolution and graphic card setting but still, the problem exists) My resolution is 1366 by 768 which is the native resolution and my graphic card is NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M. The border is about 1cm think, it is around the whole screen and my screen size is 14.1inch.

Mine are only on the far right and far left, no middle as it seems logical if you have 2 monitors you might want to have 50% coved with one window and have the 2nd 50% with another window, then you could full screen a 3rd window or just have 2 more halves. but the current way it works is 2 halves then a big empty space in the middle or 2 full screens.
I love the easy and quick way to organize/resize the windows but its very inconvenient to do this manually for half of the screen.
My system is dragging; do I have a memory leak? I am looking for some good and relatively simple software I can use to detect a memory leak. I'm running Windows 7 and I have to reboot every other day or my physical memory gets too high and significantly slows down the PC. I have used Process Explorer but can't find programs with exceptionally high usage. Everything looks normal. In fact, it almost seems like Windows is using up memory somehow, but doesn't know it, because it doesn't seem like all the running processes add up to the total amount of physical memory in use. Do I have a memory leak somewhere? How can I tell?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI tried Linux yesterday, and wrote over my previous Windows bootloader files with GRUB.
I later that day (as I could not boot into Windows 7), I deleted the Linux partitions with Windows 7 DVD. Now, after BIOS I just get a white blinking border on a black screen.

I also tried the "automatic" systemrepair (1st choice in the DVD menu, with no luck)
Whenever I click on a object (a file, hyper link, for example), or if I highlight text, when I left go of the left mouse button, it doesn't let go. So if I move my mouse around, it will continue to highlight wherever my mouse goes until I left click again. This never happened until a few months ago on any Windows computer I ever used that I can recall.
This was originally happening on a Windows 7 Home Premium computer, and then I switched to a Windows 7 Professional computer last week and I experienced the same problem. I thought it would be my mouse, so this weekend I bought a brand new mouse, but the problem continues to occur.

I'm just posting here because there are these video files which the title of the file is different to the 'name' of the file which appears below the icon. Although not the end of the world, it is annoying since when I put the files on my external HDD to play through my PS3 and that shows the title and as they all have the same title I can't tell what I am watching.

It displays correctly in XP, when I have Aero turned off and when I have clicked "Disable Desktop Composition" in compatibility, but not when Aero is running.
I'd like to disable aero (or just the titlebar transparency) for only this program but keep Aero running for everything else, is that possible?
I have an application where the subwindows are placed too high so that the title bar of the subwindow is underneath the menus of the application window.
