HDD Not Showing Up When Connected To Router?
Dec 27, 2012I have a my book essential (western digital) and when I plug it in to the router (netgear N900) it never shows up. I had the same drive before, but the other was 1 tb this is 1.5 tb and is has the USB 2.0 and USB 3.0. I am running windows 8 pro, could this be it? The other one I had, which was the same, when I plugged into the router, it showed up as "readyshare". Now, there is nothing there.

Jun 16, 2011I have a Laptop and a Desktop system.I have installed windows 7 on both the systems.I have a printer.I use internet on both the systems via Wireless Route i.e. connected to a broadband internet service without any problems.Currently I use printer separately connecting to either systems if I want to print any file.So far no problems.But now I have two options to connect a Printer as a network Printer:1. Shared Printer2. Connected Via Wireless RouterI have successfully shared the printer to a system and have used the printer from other. But there is a problem that I need to keep my System (Desktop) on all the time I want use the Printer.So I need to know the Proper Settings to connect a Printer to a Wireless Router so that it can be accessed from both systems without keeping any of my systems on all the time.To do that I need to know step by step settings because I have tried a lot but nothing happened.

Feb 14, 2012I have two PC's in the same room connected to the router and receiving good to excellent signal strength. One PC has no problem getting online while the other one can rarely get online. Or, if it does, it doesn't stay online. The problem computer is a Dell desktop using a wireless USB adapter. In the past, in different houses, it has never had a problem getting online. Windows 7 troubleshooting has not been successful.

Jun 7, 2012My computer has been acting up lately,I haven't made any changes to my computer or anything but it seems to just not want to connect to the inter for more than 5 min. My othe computer on the house seems to connect fine, but mine will only connect for 5 min the can't find the network for 15 min and it does this repeatedly. I tried updating the drivers but there were no updates available. I ran the troubleshooter and it couldn't find a problem, it just said to make sure I was in range of the router, which I am because my computer was working fine in the same spot about a week ago.

Jan 5, 2010I have a HP Laserjet 2300dn connected via USB on my USR5461-router.
With my old XP-laptop I could print wireless.
But since I had a new Laptop with Vista I could not print wireless any longer.
I upgraded my laptop to Windows 7 but I still cannot print wireless.
Is there a solution?

The solution to me seems to be to see if I can monitor and if possible control to some extent the data on each of the IP connected to the router if that is at all possible. I have looked at my router settings and unfortunately they do not permit anything more than traffic monitoring and there are no custom firmwares to allows additional features of any use. Is there any software that I could use to do this?

Oct 23, 2012I recently upgraded to an SSD. I moved windows 7 over to the new SSD and re-aligned the partition properly The drive setup is as follows:
2x 500GB WD Black drives in RAID 0
1x 120GB ADATA S510 SSD
In BIOS, RAID mode is enabled. You cannot enable RAID for one pair of drives and AHCI separately. I was assuming disks that are not part of the logical RAID volumes would be set to AHCI automatically. I have enabled NCQ in AMD RaidExpert for the SSD.WEI is 5.9 for the primary disk. The primary disk is the SSD.Other strange behanivour is that the RAID array and the SSD both appear as SCSI devices in device manager, and Windows won't accept the ahci drivers from ECS.

She had ~175 GB free on her D drive and almost none on her C drive. Is there any way to take space from the D drive and add it to the C drive? Also, I think its odd that her C:/users folder is only 25 GB. My assumption is most everything she installs and adds to her computer will go into the users folder. If she has a 500 GB HDD, why would 60%+ of the HDD be in use? is windows 7 just that big?
