I have a Laptop and a Desktop system.I have installed windows 7 on both the systems.I have a printer.I use internet on both the systems via Wireless Route i.e. connected to a broadband internet service without any problems.Currently I use printer separately connecting to either systems if I want to print any file.So far no problems. But now I have two options to connect a Printer as a network Printer:1. Shared Printer2. Connected Via Wireless RouterI have successfully shared the printer to a system and have used the printer from other. But there is a problem that I need to keep my System (Desktop) on all the time I want use the Printer. So I need to know the Proper Settings to connect a Printer to a Wireless Router so that it can be accessed from both systems without keeping any of my systems on all the time.To do that I need to know step by step settings because I have tried a lot but nothing happened.
I have a my book essential (western digital) and when I plug it in to the router (netgear N900) it never shows up. I had the same drive before, but the other was 1 tb this is 1.5 tb and is has the USB 2.0 and USB 3.0. I am running windows 8 pro, could this be it? The other one I had, which was the same, when I plugged into the router, it showed up as "readyshare". Now, there is nothing there.
I have two PC's in the same room connected to the router and receiving good to excellent signal strength. One PC has no problem getting online while the other one can rarely get online. Or, if it does, it doesn't stay online. The problem computer is a Dell desktop using a wireless USB adapter. In the past, in different houses, it has never had a problem getting online. Windows 7 troubleshooting has not been successful.
My computer has been acting up lately,I haven't made any changes to my computer or anything but it seems to just not want to connect to the inter for more than 5 min. My othe computer on the house seems to connect fine, but mine will only connect for 5 min the can't find the network for 15 min and it does this repeatedly. I tried updating the drivers but there were no updates available. I ran the troubleshooter and it couldn't find a problem, it just said to make sure I was in range of the router, which I am because my computer was working fine in the same spot about a week ago.
What does that mean? I have a PC, which is connected to the Router via a cable, besides that, two more notebooks use the Wireless network provided from that very router.
I have an annoying problem with my pc running Windows 7 Ultimate.Till I connected my pc(which is a desktop without wi fi adapter) to internet using a ethernet cable and a wi fi router I had no problems. After that, randomly, but especially when browsing the internet, the computer freezes and I must restart it.I have to mention the fact that if I connect my pc to internet using directly the cable from my ISP ( a pppoe dial-up connection) everything works fine.
i have a samsung laptop running windows 7. i have a netgear modem and router. all of my other devices connect with no problems but my laptop wont stay connected. it will connect for a while and then it will disconnect.
I recently for the first time went over my monthly data cap for broadband and looking it to it a bit more it looks like a lot of the programs my kids are using are hogging the bandwidth. I don't really want to pay for more bandwidth (as I already pay way above average as I live in a small rural village) but I don't want to restrict too much what my kids are doing. The solution to me seems to be to see if I can monitor and if possible control to some extent the data on each of the IP connected to the router if that is at all possible. I have looked at my router settings and unfortunately they do not permit anything more than traffic monitoring and there are no custom firmwares to allows additional features of any use. Is there any software that I could use to do this?
Currently my partner using XP can print to my Epson Stylus Photo R265 printer. This printer is connected via http://192.168.1.2:631 and will print whenever she wishes to do so. I can be working with Ubuntu and this is not a problem. When I attempt to print from Windows 7 by adding the printer and using the same address I failed miserably to establish any connection.
Fortunately I dual boot seven and Ubuntu and access from her laptop can be made as it is automatically linked to my PC. This can be a bit of a problem if I am working with Ubuntu as so far printing can only be done between both seven OS. My preference would be to have printing available via my USB connected printer using both Ubuntu and Windows 7 as this will let us work in harmony.
Does anyone have any idea how to get a Mac Powerbook (10.4.11) to connected to a Printer (HP Officejet 4215) that is connected to a PC (Windows 7100) through a Linksys Router (WRT54GS)?
I've got printer sharing enabled on the PC and have tried so many things that I'd rather not post everything here.
If there is anybody that knows of a surefire way to get this working, I would appreciate it .
I have a small network connected via a router.I have 2 printers connected to a computer running on windows 7.i want to share it with a computer running XP on the network. Can this be done??PS:-i am not that educated in networking so you will have to break it down for me.
i have a printer connected to server which is avaliable to rest of computers which are connected to network via Wifi. when a print request is send by a computer it stays pending as Server-Printer is offline, for printer to be online 1st user has to go to Networks->Server-PC then has to enter username and password.is there a way to overcome this so that any computer which is connected to network can send request for print without having Userneme/Password of any account on the server?
While my pc is on, I plug in the usb cable of my canon pixma MP276 printer. When the usb cable contact to the usb port, the lcd monitor goes into power saving mode/sleep mode (black) immediately and never turns on again no matter what I do (clicking on mouse, pressing keys on keyboard)I then need to restart the pc and everything will be normal.
Swapped out a Belkin N Series router with a newer model (3 of the 4 ports were not working). After doing the install of new router, per there directions, My 2 Dell Laptops Can't connect to the Dell Tower (that has my printer attached to it).
Had no problem seeing the desktop when I clicked on "network" on either my work laptop (running win 7 pro x32 or the wifes running vista sp2 x32 home Premium). But Now neither can see the tower.
Nothing else was changed, all setting were set the same. Thought Dells could talk to each other via RF signals, no need for routers.
Wireless printer had been configured to laptop via netgear router and wired to desktop as well. netgear router crapped out and was replaced with previously owned linksys wireless router; laptop no longer communicates with printer.
I would just like to say, I am not just posting this question anyhow. I have read around and I haven't found any solution to my problem, thus I have resorted in opening a new thread. So here is the prob:I have a Windows 7 Starter Edition netbook which is connected to a WRT54GL Wireless-G Router. This router is connected via hard wire to my Windows Vista Desktop and that is how the desktop has access to the internet. The netbook is accessing the internet the very same Router via Wi-Fi. The Printer (HP DeskJet 940c) is connected and installed on the Windows Vista Desktop and is functioning. It prints when I give it commands from the desktop. I have set the printer sharing options 'on' in the Networks and Sharing Center as well as haven't kept a sharing password (its open and unprotected). This is as far as I have gotten. My next challenge is, how can I print from the Windows 7 Starter Edition netbook on my HP Deskjet 940c via the Router.I would be very grateful if someone can explain to me in a very noob-ish way as I am not a techie. If someone could send me a video link or so.
My computer runs on Windows 7 Home Premium SP1. I downloaded the latest installation software for my Lexmark X7675 Professional inkjet printer and installed it. I chose the USB cable option and when I plug in the USB cable driver installation proceeds without problems until it says that the drivers has been installed correctly and the printer is ready for use. The printer is also available on the Printers and Drivers manager of Windows. But, to test the printer, I tried to print a page from MS-Word by clicking Ctrl + P> OK. The document is sent to the spooler where it just sits with the status "Printing". Furthermore, when I try to adjust the printer properties from Word by clicking: Ctrl + P> Properties, the window just freezes and there is no response.
Also when I click: Ctrl + P> Find Printers, in MS-Word, a fault message immediately pops up that says: "The Active Directory Domain Services is currently unavailable". I sometimes also get a Lexmark error message that says that there are communication problems.
I already spent a day installing and uninstalling the Lexmark software and drivers, as well as various other tricks offered by the Lexmark fault wizard. I found that sometimes when I reboot the computer that the document hanging in the spooler gets printed out while rebooting. However, the printer can't seem to print normally when I click print or when I try to print a test page from the printer's options box. The printer is coupled by means of Wi-Fi to the home Wi-Fi network and another computer prints faultlessly to the Lexmark with the same software and drivers but just using the Wi-Fi option. How to get this computer to print via USB cable.
I can not install the printer driver if hp laserjet 1200 connected with win 7 32 bit system via usb windows is not able to automatically install it but it shows the icon of hp laserjet 1200 in devices and printers folder, each time i plug it in usb port. I tried all the universal print drivers pcl5 and pcl6 available at hp website but worthless.
I have a LaserJetprinter with a bad USB port, and I want to connect it directly to my laptop using the ethernet port. Since there is no internet at this location, I have been using the USB port.If I connect the printer directly to my laptop what type of cable do I use (crossover?) and what kind of port settings do I use (TCP/IP?) and how do I set this up correctly?
