Can't Install Printer Driver If Hp Laserjet 1200 Connected With Windows 7 32
Jan 8, 2013I can not install the printer driver if hp laserjet 1200 connected with win 7 32 bit system via usb windows is not able to automatically install it but it shows the icon of hp laserjet 1200 in devices and printers folder, each time i plug it in usb port. I tried all the universal print drivers pcl5 and pcl6 available at hp website but worthless.

Jul 14, 2009I need to share my HP LaserJet 1200 printer with my other computer running XP Home SP3 x86.
I can get my printer shared, but with x64 drivers, when I click additional drivers for x86, I get asked for x86 Printer Drivers. I got those already, but then it asks for Windows media (x86). Do I need to get the Windows 7 x86 7232 ISO for those files? or the XP Home x86 CD? Read more at forums...
HP Laserjet 1200 Printer - No Setup Over Network
Oct 6, 2009Unable to get an HP Laserjet 1200 printer set up over my network. Running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. I can see then printer when browsing network for printer but Windows insists on searching Windows Update, striking out and when browsing for other files I can't get any other HP *.inf files (both 32 & 64bit) I downloaded to take without crashing with errors. I connected the printer directly to my PC with a USB cable and Windows instantly recognized it and installed a driver for it. But still can't connect with it's hooked up on another workstation. Yes, it's set up for sharing on the other network PC.

Feb 6, 2011I have recently started using Win 7 on a Toshiba laptop (4gig Ram, i5 processor) but have been unable to connect with the HP Laserjet 1200. I have followed the threads provided in this forum but am unable to print to the 1200. The printer is connected via a USB port. The printer/USB port is recognized as USB printing support. I have previously loaded the HP laserjet 1200 PCL5 driver and have now tried loading the HP Universal Printing PCL6 driver. In both situations the printer driver is seen under the printers/fax (in the Devices/Printers page) as either the Laserjet 1200 PCL5 or the HP PCL6.

My research indicates it would run in Vista using built in drivers, but I didn't have or use Vista. I also tried driversguide, and HP site just says "supported"
When I used one of the available earleir drivers I always get the error message:
"W2 INVALID PERS"
OK Solved it now. Lots of drivers in a package for HP laserjets. Go to the Windows Update page and download the package; here: Microsoft Update Catalog

I see no reason to junk a perfectly good printer ( especially as I still have thrre new toner cartridges - not cheap!)

Feb 11, 2012I have had a HP 5L for years. Love it, it runs like a tank and the ink is cheep. However I have always had driver problems. When I got XP it would print on the upper 3/4 of the page on one sheet and the lower part on a second sheet. I read that if you used an Epson driver (I don't remember which one) it would work and sure enough it did. Now I have Windows 7 which has a built in driver for the 5L. It works fine with Word but when i print from the web or my emails it splits the page the same way as it did on XP (top 3/4 of the page on first sheet off paper and the bottom 1/4 on a second sheet of paper.)
