Disable User Select Screen?
Mar 3, 2010I've got a computer with Windows 7 Home Premium. There are two users, but I want that the computers always starts with the same user (no password) and not to show the user select screen.

Windows 7 Takes Forever To Load The Select User/switch User Screen?
Jan 17, 2013Earlier today I turned on my Toshiba laptop (Satellite P855-S5200) and got some sort of error screen, and then it brought me to a screen asking if I wanted to do a system repair or start windows normally. I chose system repair, but then it seemed to get stuck in that process (It was taking forever and nothing was happening), so I turned off the laptop (I know, big no no), booted in safe mode, and did a system restore to a restore point from about a week ago. The "starting Windows" screen came and went, no problem. Everything seemed fine till I got to the User Selection screen (the default blue one with the little hummingbird or whatever). Then it just sat there on that screen. I could see the hummingbird and the little squiggly lines, but there were no buttons to click my user. I just let it sit there, and after about 5 minutes, the user names popped up, and I was able to continue using the computer without any problems, no other speed issues whatsoever. It now makes me wait every time, always about 5 minutes, before the user names pop up. It does this when I restart the machine and when I try to switch users.
It is a Pentium Core i7
2.3 Ghz
8 GB RAM
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

Sep 19, 2010I've set up a secondary account on my Windows 7 machine and I need to find out how to disable the switch user thing.In Windows XP, I could hit winflag+L and switch user as I would instantly be taken to the user list.In Windows 7, for some reason they had to complicate everything. When I hit winflag+L it just displays a picture of my account and a "Switch User" button, which for me serves no purpose what so ever.Is there any way I can regain Windows XP's user switch functionality in Windows 7, where winflag+L takes me directly to the user list on the login screen?

Jun 2, 2012I am using an ASUS monitor model ML228, ATI Radeon HD 3300 Graphics, and Windows 7 32-bit. I have used this monitor before at the correct resolution of 1920x1080, but now it is not available to select from the screen resolution manager.
I read through a couple of other threads that said to uninstall and reinstall the driver from device manager for both my graphics card and the monitor and it says both are up to date and nothing changed.

Aug 17, 2012I recently ordered a desktop online with win 7-asus m5a88-m mb, amd fx 4100 bulldozer quad core processor with a wd 1 terabyte hd. I put in my own radeon r6750 core edition grphix card. This pc ran amazingly for approx. 2 months. Then all of the sudden upon cold start only, makes a loud humming, it goes to black screen with the words "REBOOT AND SELECT PROPER BOOT DEVICE OR INSERT BOOT MEDIA IN SELECTED BOOT DEVICE PRESS ANY KEY." Then the humming subsides,i turn it off and right back on and runs fantastic. It does this everyday. Things i have tried: got to bios and change priority order to hd first, replace hd, sent back to company and it was fixed for 2 days and doing it again. I should also mention that they completely reloaded windows and replaced the ram.
