I bought a scythe fan for my case to go on the side, i've tried plugging the 3 pin connector into the PWR_FAN(3 pin) and CHASIS_FAN(4 pin), it gets detected in the bios and in speedfan, and various other software to monitor the fans.
Its running at 3,000 RPM which is way to loud for me, i've tried ASUS AI suite, amd overdrive, speedfan ect to try and turn down the RPM but none of them effect it, its going at 100% non stop and wont slow down no matter what, and even in the bios when i selected 'silent' mode it did not budge in speed at all.
Mobo: ASUS M4A87TD EVO AM3 AMD 870 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
Fan: Scythe DFS123812-3000 "ULTRA KAZE" 120 x 38 mm Case Fan
Anything i can do to make this software or bios adjust the fan to the correct speeds? If i bought a hardware fan speed controller would that work? I was looking at something simple like this: Newegg.com - Sunbeam PL-RS-PCI Rheosmart PCI 20W Fan Controller
But i'd rather not buy if my Mobo or some software can adjust the speed for me.

We have a branch where we have a server (Server 2003) and four workstations (Windows XP Professional) all part of an internal domain we'll just call "ours.internal" so that it has a name. All 5 computers print to two network printers, one monochrome, one color. All of this works just fine. There are no connectivity or authentication issues whatsoever. The four workstations are public access computers. To control print costs we have paused the printers on each workstation and Group Policy prevents the public users from accessing the "Printers and Faxes" folder to resume them.In order for the public's print jobs to actually be printed, the public user pays the staff on site and the staff person connects to the "Printers and Faxes" folder on the particular workstation, from the server, and resumes printing to print out the job, then pauses the printer again when the job is done. This method works for a lot of folks who's budget simply doesn't include funding for a better solution and it has worked flawlessly for us since implemented.Introduced a Windows 7 Professional workstation into mix. It too is a member of the domain. It too has policies applied and paused printers, so public can't just dump unwanted print jobs to the printers. I even have roaming profiles working so I can standardize the desktop and change it on a whim if I like. However:I can't see the folder that contains the printers over the network.

Getting tired of going right click > personalize > Screen Saver > Change Power Settings > Change Plan Settings > Then changing my screen time out from 10 minutes to x amount of time for watching movies.
If you know of any and can provide a link I would be much obliged.

I want to dedicate a SSD for the OS system and locate program files and personal files to another HD. Is there a simple complete tutorial on, setting up, #1 a SSD for the primary drive #2 locating, just the OS on the SSD? The idea is (To save money, speed up and keep an uncluttered OS) purchase a smaller SSD for the OS and use a standard HD for Program files.

Well I read somewhere that my laptop has a video-card connected to the motherboard so I cant replace it with a better one, and since I don't have the money to buy a new computer all-together I thought maybe someone tech-savey kind person could help me make my current video-card work better. Anyway I recently read somewhere that the main reason why my Video-card is so cr@ppy is becuase it has very low dedicated video ram(128mb to be exact) and I think that is extremely low for a laptop bought in 2009, and there should be a way to raise it. Alright, I'd like to download and play Skyrim, but the website,"Systemsrequirementslab.com" says my dedicated video RAM is too low to play.I know that the website often tells you that you can't run a game if you have hardware it doesn't recognize, but I checked it out and this time it's right.I checked under the Intel Systems InformationCurrent Graphics Memory (In use): 75mbMaximum Graphics Memory: 1760mb1760mb is well over the recomended amount for the game, so I'm not sure how to let my laptop use it

I currently have a dell Inspiron n7010. I checked to see if I could run Diablo III, and found that I lack the Dedicated Video Ram of 256MB. My current dedicated Video Ram is 64MB. My Graphics card is Intel(r) HD Graphics. After reading several sites, it appears that this graphic card is impossible to upgrade, so I was hoping I might be bale to increase the dedicated ram so I could install Diablo III.My apologies if this has been answered previously. I would gladly read the original thread if someone posts a link to it.

On my HP G50-112NR Notebook, 32bit, I inserted a 16G Verbatim USB flash drive to learn about ReadyBoost. I clicked on "Dedicate this device to ReadyBoost," thinking that I could change my mind later and "undo" it. I can't!! The USB had a few files on it & Properties shows they are still there. Device Manager says the USB is working properly. But when I try to "Open" the drive, the resulting window says it's empty. I have tried clicking "Do not use. . ." but nothing happens. I want to Undo the ReadyBoost "dedication" & restore the USB to normal use. How do I do that? (Unless I receive some good advice, I'm going to Format the USB).

It seems like PC gamers have put enough pressure on Infinity Ward. Either that, or Infinity Ward just wants to get money from PC gamers that they didn't get two years ago due to frustration over the lack of dedicated servers in Modern Warfare 2. Whatever the case is, Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games have officially confirmed the support of dedicated servers in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

have a Dell Inspiron N5110 15R laptop. It is i3, having 4 GB of RAM and 500 GB of hard-disk. But when it comes to the Graphics, it has onboard graphics, i.e. Intel HD Graphics 3000. Now I have 2GB of shared video memory but I only have 64MB of Dedicated Video Memory which is, I think, not enough to play games like Battlefield 3 or Call of Duty(s)Now, coming to the question, is there any way I could increase Dedicated Video Memory? I will be happy to donate 1 GB (or 512 MB) more to Dedicated Video Memory.[CODE]

The same happens with my emails if I want to save them to their dedicated folder, i.e.: friends info etc. I am not being able to drag and drop files where I want them to go.

I downloaded Skyim from steam a while ago and after it had downloaded I was able to load the game up, however the lag was unbearable. It was simply running too slowly.I tried seeking help in various other places, but after looking in detail trying to see what the problem was I finally discovered that my Dedicated Video RAM was the only thing that was too low. It's a mere 64 MB and I need to try and get it to 512mb if I can.I've seen various people say that your dedicated memory can be increased, other have said that it can't be increased though. Which has left me utterly confused. Here are my System details.Manufacture: Samsung Electronics Rating (Windows Experience Index): 3.3 Processor: Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU T4400 @ 2.20GHz 2.20GHz Installed memory (RAM): 3.00 GB System type: 32-bit operating systemI'll try give any other necessary information if people let me know what they need/how to get it if the problem can be solved. If not then I guess that means I'd have to purchase a new computer?
