Every time I shut down my laptop, there would always be the notice "installing update 1 of 1". This has been happening for a while and I'm wondering what's going on.
In addition, many random files have been created in the Local C drive as shown: Corrupted Image removed - please re- upload
I don't know if I should just delete them but anyway, I chose not to just in case.

View 3 Replies View RelatedJust got a brand new Samsung Series 7 laptop and everything was working fine until i started installing windows updates. The cpu is now stuck at around 15% load and there's constant disk activity too. I run msconfig.exe and disabled programs that I don't really use much, run disk defrag just too make sure the disk was working well. As a result my cpu is running hot (65 degrees) and the battery drains pretty quick.

I went to download the updates and all went well, that was until it tried to configure them with my computer. Everytime I turn on my computer now, I have to wait for it to try to configure updates. It gets to 15% completed, and then it suddenly says that the updates failed to configure, so the computer restarts, and then I have to wait for it to start up AGAIN. I've tried this at least 8-9 times and get the same result.

Also when i reboot i ahve to disable and re-enable my Network adapter in order to connect to the internet..
I have a computer which, every time it's restarted or turned on, the network icon always had that exclamation point, and it can't connect to the internet. All it needs to do is an IP config release/renew, then disable then re-enable the adapter, and it fixes itself. But upon reboot/restart, it happened again!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm new to this forum, so please forgive me if I make a mistake.I recently purchased a Dell Latitude E4300 refurbished laptop from a seller on eBay. Ever since I brought it home, it has been constantly freezing randomly, whether it be whilst I'm browsing, navigating through windows etc.I've reformatted, and completely wiped the system about 3-4 times, installing different versions of Windows 7 whether it be Home Premium x32 or x64, or Windows 7 Professional x32 or x64 bit, but regardless of what I do, it concludes pointless. I first suspected it was the graphics driver, hence I've tried updating, and downgrading the driver to see whether it would rectify the problem. After that appeared pointless, I suspected it might've been the fan, as the computer does heat up quite quickly, however that concluded pointless as the computer froze even on the windows 7 boot logo. Finally I suspected it might've been the hard drive, and/or the ram, I did some tests (Windows Memory Diagnostic & Memtest86+) and CHKDSK multiple times without any detected errors being found. What I found interesting was that it mainly froze when I initiated a "Windows Experience Index" test, however that was at the beginning.

Eventually it went into The black screen where it says "checking disk for consistency". Being an impatient person,y dad and I chose to just re install my whole computer. And then it was fine.Until a month later when it began having the same issues. This time, I hard rebooted a couple times until it went into "Checling disk" again. After googling, I let it run through and it took a couple of hours but it worked. And them it was fine, until a week later t became extremely slow, shut down, and went into Startup Repair. It began fixing hard drive errors and took several hours to complete, but it did. And it was fineA week later my computer again has begun freezing up. When I start it up in the mornings, it takes a long time on "Starting Windows" and then goes to a black screen with a cursor. Then waits for a long time before going into he login screen, I login and it takes a long time to begin to function. Then it starts to freeze up, I hard rebooted, and it happens again.
Oh, and whenever I get the rare moment my computer is functioning I run Norton full scans/ CCcleaner. I've been having some issues since upgrading my computer to this Galaxy GTX 560 video card. My old EVGA GTX 280 did fine except I wanted to be able to run Direct X 11 and newer games on the horizon.I specifically get crashes when playing certain games. Diablo 3, Star Trek Online, Star Wars The Old Republic (seldom but still happens). The crash would usually occur less than 20 minutes of playing.I have not experienced a crash on Team Fortress 2 yet. I have played for a few hours without crashing.This is a second card, I RMA'd the first card already with the same issues.I am on Windows 7 Professional, x64.This is a upgraded installation from a clean install of Windows xp. Re-Installed Dec '11 This should be a retail version.Motherboard 2007.CPU 2010 Intel Q9550.RAM 2011 Corsair something matched pair.Hard drive 2012 Patriot Memory Pyro.I have not overclocked anything in my computer. Everything runs fine on my 280 GTX. (just a bit slower and I hear the fan churning like mad, but doesn't hard crash).I have also tried running the OCCT, however it also causes it to crash out in about 130 seconds. I get pass the first installation but when i have to restart and it says"Updating Registry" And goes back to the Windows 7 installation screen the computer crashes and when it restarts and i try to get to boot up back windows 7 it reaches the screen that says"Starting Windows"Then restarts all over again,Any tips to fix this?P.S Safe mode don't works either and yes the Computer is windows 7 compatible.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThis morning i turned on my PC, and for the first few minutes it worked fine, but then it turned horrible. Everything froze when i attempted to click it or even hover my cursor over it. I tried to open task manager to shut down Firefox, but it took around ~20 minutes for task manager to open. Once everything was closed, I scanned with MBAM Pro and nothing was found, so I read about this on other sites. They said to clean the registry with a program called WiseCleaner. It took me 15 minutes to get it, but when it finished scanning it found 853 problems in the registry. I also defragmented the registry. Also, whenever I try to boot into safe mode, my computer freezes at CLASSPNP.SYS. Not sure what to do now, as no improvement was made.

Having problems with the Sleep, Restart, and Shut Down functions after struggling trying to get a defective external disk drive enclosure to work.When I use any of the above functions the computer shuts down. I cannot wake by moving or left clicking the mouse as before. The computer shuts down and will not come on with the front panel power button. Ditto for Restart. I have to pull the power cord for about a minute before reconnecting. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have 2 computers here. One is a E-Machines, and the other is a custom built. Both units as soon as you power them on, they go thru the boot up process, but anywhere from 2 to 10 seconds later, the unit turns off. I've tried swapping the ram and the power supply. I have disconnected the keyboard, monitor, mouse and speakers with no change. Both of them developed this problem over night. They do not stay booted up long enough to get into the setup or to even try booting from a DVD.

At first I thought it was overheating but then I installed SpeedFan and it's still doing it (and I can tell from feeling under the computer that it's no longer overheating).
I've run virus scan after virus scan (Malwarebyetes and Microsoft Security Essentials) but it's not finding anything wrong with my computer.

My computer repeatedly shuts down on me. Yesterday it must have shut down on me 20 times. My virus and malware scans come out clean. It usually goes to a menu asking me if I want to start the computer normally or in safe mode. However sometimes, I have to run start-up repair and sometimes I get a blue screen. The problem is the blue screen doesn't stay up long enough for me to write down error codes or anything else it says.
I have HP windows 7 , dsl , laptop and I will be anywhere and it disconnects with internet then about anywhere from 2 - 8 secs it comes back on.
