Constant Freezing/weird Stuff With Computer?
Apr 29, 2012
A couple months after I got my computer, it began to become very slow. Being an impatient person, I hard rebooted a couple times. Eventually it went into The black screen where it says "checking disk for consistency". Being an impatient person,y dad and I chose to just re install my whole computer. And then it was fine.Until a month later when it began having the same issues. This time, I hard rebooted a couple times until it went into "Checling disk" again. After googling, I let it run through and it took a couple of hours but it worked. And them it was fine, until a week later t became extremely slow, shut down, and went into Startup Repair. It began fixing hard drive errors and took several hours to complete, but it did. And it was fineA week later my computer again has begun freezing up. When I start it up in the mornings, it takes a long time on "Starting Windows" and then goes to a black screen with a cursor. Then waits for a long time before going into he login screen, I login and it takes a long time to begin to function. Then it starts to freeze up, I hard rebooted, and it happens again.
Oh, and whenever I get the rare moment my computer is functioning I run Norton full scans/ CCcleaner. Computer info:Model: Gateway NV55CIntel Core i3-370MHard Drive: 320 GB HDDMemory: 4GB DDR3 MemoryUpdAte:Rebooted computer, went into startup repair. Let it run and sent to starting windows and beeped around 8 times. Now it's stuck, and I'm sad

This morning i turned on my PC, and for the first few minutes it worked fine, but then it turned horrible. Everything froze when i attempted to click it or even hover my cursor over it. I tried to open task manager to shut down Firefox, but it took around ~20 minutes for task manager to open. Once everything was closed, I scanned with MBAM Pro and nothing was found, so I read about this on other sites. They said to clean the registry with a program called WiseCleaner. It took me 15 minutes to get it, but when it finished scanning it found 853 problems in the registry. I also defragmented the registry. Also, whenever I try to boot into safe mode, my computer freezes at CLASSPNP.SYS. Not sure what to do now, as no improvement was made.

At the moment, my Windows 7 machine is freezing, up to a minute, then resuming normal operation for about 30 seconds, then the freezing continues. I'm not quite sure what is causing this. Also, when the computer is having a clean streak, without freezing, occasionally windows take a very long time to open.As for recent things I have done, I've just attempted to update Steam due to an error, but other than that, nothing else major has been done to my computer.

So recently my desktop PC has been freezing at random times, and then sometimes restarting after not responding for a couple of minutes (no BSOD, just restarts as far as I've seen). It sometime freezes as soon as I turn the computer on, while Windows is loading, and sometimes it will start freezing after an hour it's been on. Most of the time it will just freeze for around a minute, and then unfreeze, but sometimes it does freeze and then restart. By freeze I mean everything, mouse included, and ctrl+alt+delete doesn't work. Also at bootup sometimes, it will fail to detect my SATA hard-drive and hang at Detecting SATA drives at the bios screen. This will be following by a disk read error. This problem started occuring a couple of weeks a go, so I reinstalled Windows 7 and it worked fine after that.
Running Windows 7
Bios: Phoenix - AwardBios v6.00PG
Processor: Intel Core2 Duo CPU E6550 @2.33GHz

I recently built my first PC three days ago...
Specs:
i7 bloomfield 960 processor
4x4 vengeance ram
crosair hx850 PSU
evga x58 ftw3 mobo
hd 6870 radeon graphics xfx
When I first installed windows it started to work just fine but I soon noticed that it would randomly freeze every 15-30 minutes of use, but not on a particular program or anything. I assumed it was drivers so I installed the latest drivers for my GPU and MOBO and keyboard. It seemed fine again until it started crashing again. I ran a GPU burn test and a CPU burn test it passed both. (I tried runing memtest86+ but it froze at like 12%) Then I tried fixing the registry so I downloaded ccleaner and fixed the registry problems. Freezes continued. I finally decided to re install windows so I did and the problems still continued. I am at a loss of what to do and can't think of anything else.

So each time I start up my computer, my mouse, keyboard, and headphones getrecognized. My mouse is the only device of those 3 to use usb. My blue snowball microphone and my hawking directional antenna don't get recognized until I unplug them and plug them back in. It take 2-4 times of unplugging and plugging in for it to recognize my snowball.

Today, I was browsing the internet, while watching a stream of MLG. While suddenly my comp screen shows weird glitchy lines and the sound freezes, i end up turning off my computer and restarting it, but the glitchy screen still shows and wont startup to login screen. I was able to startup into safe mode (still with the weird glitch on screen) but the restoring and doing startup repair seems to not have fixed the problem.

Whenever I open anything from microsoft office 2003, that can be outlook, that can be a word document, that can be a powerpoint presentation or an excel sheet, my windows 7 taskbar and the computer in general slow down considerably, but expecially the taskbar lags for at least 3 seconds whatever I do (like moving the pointer over several icons so that the aero-thingy shows up takes 5 seconds to pop up the little windows or opening a new explorer window). So when did it all start? At first everything was fine, office 2003 was running fine with w7x64, then I installed the cisco system vpn client (64bit of course) because i need it for university. After that the problem occured and I haven't been able to make it go away since then.
1. I uninstalled the vpn client -> no changes
2. I uninstalled office 2003 and reinstalled -> no changes
3. Office is updated with the latest patch -> no changes
4. I tried to turn of aero (who knows?) -> no changes

I'm new to this forum, so please forgive me if I make a mistake.I recently purchased a Dell Latitude E4300 refurbished laptop from a seller on eBay. Ever since I brought it home, it has been constantly freezing randomly, whether it be whilst I'm browsing, navigating through windows etc.I've reformatted, and completely wiped the system about 3-4 times, installing different versions of Windows 7 whether it be Home Premium x32 or x64, or Windows 7 Professional x32 or x64 bit, but regardless of what I do, it concludes pointless. I first suspected it was the graphics driver, hence I've tried updating, and downgrading the driver to see whether it would rectify the problem. After that appeared pointless, I suspected it might've been the fan, as the computer does heat up quite quickly, however that concluded pointless as the computer froze even on the windows 7 boot logo. Finally I suspected it might've been the hard drive, and/or the ram, I did some tests (Windows Memory Diagnostic & Memtest86+) and CHKDSK multiple times without any detected errors being found. What I found interesting was that it mainly froze when I initiated a "Windows Experience Index" test, however that was at the beginning.

I've been having some issues since upgrading my computer to this Galaxy GTX 560 video card. My old EVGA GTX 280 did fine except I wanted to be able to run Direct X 11 and newer games on the horizon.I specifically get crashes when playing certain games. Diablo 3, Star Trek Online, Star Wars The Old Republic (seldom but still happens). The crash would usually occur less than 20 minutes of playing.I have not experienced a crash on Team Fortress 2 yet. I have played for a few hours without crashing. This is a second card, I RMA'd the first card already with the same issues.I am on Windows 7 Professional, x64.This is a upgraded installation from a clean install of Windows xp. Re-Installed Dec '11 This should be a retail version.Motherboard 2007.CPU 2010 Intel Q9550.RAM 2011 Corsair something matched pair.Hard drive 2012 Patriot Memory Pyro.I have not overclocked anything in my computer. Everything runs fine on my 280 GTX. (just a bit slower and I hear the fan churning like mad, but doesn't hard crash).I have also tried running the OCCT, however it also causes it to crash out in about 130 seconds. The crash report is generated from this.

Every time I shut down my laptop, there would always be the notice "installing update 1 of 1". This has been happening for a while and I'm wondering what's going on.
In addition, many random files have been created in the Local C drive as shown: Corrupted Image removed - please re- upload
I don't know if I should just delete them but anyway, I chose not to just in case.

I have an old Toshiba Satellite L355-S7905 that was handed down to me back in 2009It gave me some problems beforehand (needed a new OS twice since I got it) but over the past year it's been fine. Suddenly, out of the blue, the OS crashed on me a few days ago.The crash was pretty bad and the OS wouldn't boot anymore. So, I did what any logical person would do; I reformatted my HDD (to ensure no viruses or spyware remained) and attempted to reinstall Win7 Ultimate. After the install, I manually updated all my drivers, and went underway resituating my programs. All was well with the universe, and then it happened. My system froze. One reboot later and it started freezing any time I tried to launch Firefox. Shortly after that, it started freezing whenever I tried launching any program at all. It even froze when I launched the Command Prompt. I've tried everything I can think of, but nothing seems to solve the problem of the CPU spiking then the system locking up. I've tried virus scans, registry cleaner, disk defragenation, and disk clean up

i don't know much about computers, but i also can't download in safemode with the tool that was offered by this site so i'm not sure what all i should be includingi have an hp pavilion g7-1219wm notebook with windows 7. maybe about a month ago or a bit longer, the computer froze up while i was watching a movie on netflix. for a few days then, it'd been going slow and freezing momentarily but this time it would freeze for long periods of time and a few times i shut it off by holding down the power button (which i know you aren't supposed to do, stupid me) then when it wouldn't restart, at all.i did a recovery and re-installed most of what was in windows updates (except for two/three which refuse to install) but all of a sudden, it began freezing again. when i attempt to start normally, it seems fine - for under five minutes then everything freezes. i can move the mouse around but that's the only thing i can do. i've been using it fine in safe mode with networking thinking this month, we'd be able to get it fixed but that's not happening and to top it off, it's begun to freeze even in safe mode with networking

I have a samsung laptop, and run with Windows Seven. About a month ago my problem started. My computer will freeze and require me to manually shut it off and restart. At first it happened infrequently, but as of yesterday it freezes right after it starts up. I run spy-bot search and destroy, which I did using the guest profile. It found and fixed about 62 problems. I hoped that would have fixed the problem, but unfortunately it hasn't. Right now I am operating in safe mode.

So in the past week, my computer has started freezing. After about an hour of use, the screen will freeze. Sound will still play for a while and the mouse still moves. But other than that, it completely freezes.
Ctl+alt+del doesn't do anything and I have to manually shut it down.
Sometimes if it sits for a while and I don't mess with anything it will black screen and tell me to insert bootable media.
My computer is only about a year old and I put it together myself. I have an 64 GB SSD with Windows 7 intel i5 2500k 3.3ghz CPU 8 GB of RAM EVGA GTX 570
My graphics drivers are up to date. My registry seems in order. I have no virus' showing up under my scans. My PSU doesn't seem to be overheating. Memory test in my BIOS shows fine My case has plenty of airflow HD tune pro doesn't show any bad sectors And I've cleaned up with CCleaner

I am having issues with my computer freezing. It's not frequent but it and it happens pretty much whenever it wants. I can be rendering a video in Premiere Pro CS5.5 or just downloading something with the system completely idle. I check the Windows Event Logs after every time I reset the machine and there's no errors at the time of the crash. At the time the computer rebooted it says the last system shutdown was unexpected.I ran Memtest86+ 4.2.0 and it came up with no errors. I also ran 3DMark Vantage, I know it's not really a stability test but I wanted to see if it would cause it to freeze, which it didn't. But then I ran Prime95 on a stress test and it causes the machine to freeze after the 640K Self-Test passes everytime I run it.

Whenever i boot my computer while loading windows, at the login, or very shortly after (within 2-3 minutes) of logging into my system my video freezes completely. It never shuts down, gives an error message, no blue screen of death. I am running windows 7 32bit Edition and this issue has only been happening recently. I have concluded the issue is an Nvidia issue because when i deleted the drivers and booted up without them i have no issues with "default" windows drivers. I have tried using older drivers, confirming that my drivers are up to date. I have attempted system restores and nothing i have tried is solving the issue. It runs fine in safe mode. The issue was happening only occasionally at first, eventually it would boot back up and i wouldn't have issues again for a few weeks. When it freezes it also causes an audio loop if anything is playing, so i suppose it could be crashing the system but windows has no crash logs indicating its a system crash. I'm lost, aside from replacing the video card or doing a full reinstall of windows 7 i'm not sure what else i can do to fix it!
