BSOD When Playing DVDs On PC Running Windows 7 32bit
Dec 6, 2011
I have a strange problem when playing DVDs in my PC running Windows 7 (32-bit). The problem is that whenever I play any DVD in any player of my choice, the OS Crashes and shows a BSOD every time I try to play DVDs in my PC. My PC has got Intel i865G Chipset with the built-in Intel 82865G GPU. I can't live without watching DVDs! I do have a DVD Player to watch them on my TV, but watching them on my PC is better for me.
I am running a first gen Alienware M11x netbook: Processor: SU7300 Ram: 4 GB Graphics: integrated and GT 335m OS: Windows 7 home premium 64 bit
Last night, for the first time since I performed a driver update for the graphics card, I switched to integrated graphics to watch a video (mp4) while I had it unplugged. Upon running the video I got the BSOD with the information below:
Problem signature: Problem Event Name: BlueScreen OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3 Locale ID: 4105
Additional information about the problem: BCCode: 3b BCP1: 00000000C0000005 BCP2: FFFFF8800410EDBC BCP3: FFFFF88008CD2CF0 BCP4: 0000000000000000 OS Version: 6_1_7601 Service Pack: 1_0 Product: 768_1

I tried it again to make sure it would still happen (it did, not a great idea) and tried with the discrete card active which let it run. I also noticed the laptop having some minor issues in other places as well.
playing battlefield 3 i've experienced both bsod and the program to stop running. when the bsod occurs the screen blacks out then the video comes back but the image is made out of a bunch of lines like the video split up and moved around. then the bluescreen comes up. (not sure how else to explain how it looks). theres also a deep beap sound that plays sometimes as well.
i've also experienced an issue with other games, most recently europa universalis 3 where the game stops running as well. sometimes the game runs fine without crash and i've played for 3 - 4 hours on two different occasions but the play after only lasts a few minutes. my drivers are all up to date so i don't think they are the issue.just now i ran a program through the action center that i guess looked for solutions to problems and every problem that showed up is a "video hardware error"

i read somewhere that audio drivers could cause issues. i have high definition audio as well as the realtek audio driver.i don't know if i should upload those files that the problem report reported so don't know. i've also been formatting videos for Internet and running my cpu at 85% so i don't think its the cpu overheating like i've heard can happen.
I have been running W7 on this box since W7 came out. I use the TV tuner, Dvdfab, play movies, rip cd's and to this point haven't really had any problems. About 2 weeks ago I was unable to open a movie to use DVDFab to copy it. DVDFab had expried. I did upgrade to the latest version, but that didnt help. Then I tried playing a CD. CD will not play. WMP just sits at the blue circle. Sometimes it will recognize the cd and songs, but no music.Only physical cds and dvds. Same problem if you try and play them from WMC.
Windows 7 Starter Edition cannot be purchased--you have to get it on a netbook. Heh heh heh. Of course, some of us live in Mexico, where...never mind, the Federalies might be reading this.Anyway, you cannot play DVDs with Starter Edition. Just suppose someone in Mexico has a regular desktop with Starter Edition (and No, it isn't me).
I've got full sound in everything else and the latest sound blaster drivers. I insert a DVD and play it in Windows Media Player or Center and I get no Audio (*shakes head).
I play the DVD in VLC and it plays and sounds fine, but the Quality of the DVD video in VLC blows.
What's the fix (and why does there need to be a fix) for Windows Media Player? You'd think Windows Media CENTER could at least play a DVD...
I have a problem with my Windows 7 Media Center. When I try playing a DVD on it (does for only some DVDs), it plays the background music and the video, just the voices are gone. I made sure it wasn't just the movie by enabling closed captioning and using a regular DVD player. On the regular DVD player, it ran with everything voices and all. Anyone know what could be wrong? I do have Home Premium so it shouldn't be the codecs I'd guess, but I'm new to this stuff.
Every time I try to RIP a DVD and burn it I get the BSOD "after" the burn has completed. No problems ripping just after the process has completed. I have BSOD using ConvertXtoDVD 4 and 1Click DVD Copy.

Now I am using windows 7 32 bit. My all icon is black. So i use with Rebuild Icon Cache after ok while .. but windows restart black icon is appear again.
Upgraded from win xp to win pro 7 32 bit. I have two hitachi drives that I mirror using casper xp. Saved my old config with xp on drive H. Now, in windows 7, I can see drive H, but get error not accessible.
i recently downloaded a patch for this game (an unofficial one) and when i came to install it i get an error telling me that "this program is not compilable with your version of windows please contact the vendor for the correct version of the program (32bit or 64bit)" I've never encountered this problem before and as far as i know 32 bit programs should work on 64 bit OSes just fine (i have windows 7 ultimate 64 bit btw)i just want to know have you guys ever encountered such an error? how did you solve it/get past it?
I started getting BSOD two weeks ago. As far as I can remember the first time I had a BSOD was on the day I installed Max Payne 3 (I read somewhere that the some guy had also this problem when he installed max payne). There were two occasions that I got a BSOD upon starting Max Payne 3. But lately I'm getting BSOD when doing low-load stuffs like browsing with no other apps opened. I've already done memtest with 10 passes with no errors. I'm 24 hours prime95 stable. I just don't get it! I've manually set my timings for my ram. I'm not doing any overclock. Everything is on stock settings.
My computer started running really slow and sticking while running videos and playing games. I looked at the processes on the task bar and I have 13 svchost running ...is that normal? What do I really need to have running? I have so many things on there like something called toaster.exe32. I've cleared the cache and cookies..and used CCleaner. I thought maybe stopping some of the processes would help.
I tried installing a 64 bit Windows 7 on 32 bit processor(Dual Core, 2.80HGHz) having a DDR RAM of 2.5GB. But I could not do so due to 'Hardware Incompatibility'.I then tried to install a 32 bit-Windows7 Home premium, but again the same 'Hardware Incompatibility' appears on screen and prevents the installation.
My computer freezes every five minutes or so while playing games or running Firefox. It's been doing this for the last 6 months and most of the time it freezes for a few minutes then runs fine for a while. Then it freezes again. Eventually I have to hard reboot.
First off I have a newly built system.....i7-2600K 4.4 GHz, 8MB Corsiair Dominator 1600 MHz, EVGA GTX 590, Asus P67 Sabertooth MOB, all water cooled....need a say more?As the title says I am gettign random BSOD's while I play BF3. I always seem to get a "BF3.exe has stopped working" message during everygame, and the game crashes. I have re-installed everything so that did not work. I've done a little research and this seems to be a reacurring issue with a lot of people and seemed to happen after the first patch came out for the game.I've ran an analysis on the dump files and it seems to be a "ntoskrnl.exe" file that seems to be cuasing the BSOD's.
I've been experiencing very frequent BSODs while playing my games. I rarely get the BSODs if I avoid playing my games altogether, hence I suspect it has to do with my video card, or updating its driver or something. Anyway, please see attached report from WhoCrashed. I've also attached the actual dump files for your perusal.
Got a random BSOD playing Crysis last night, this error only occurs in Crysis, no other games. Had every setting on Very High which was putting a high load on the PC.

I have been expieriencing the dreaded bsod only while playing CSS or any HL2 engine, im running windows 7 ultamite 64bit os. i cant be a overheating problem assured by my six fans in a very large server tower case never gets above room temp even under load ive never felt it get any noticably hotter. dust is not an issue as i clean it out monthly, i dont know if this matters but the specs:[CODE]if anymore info is needed please ask i have no expierience with dealing with BSOD.why is it when only while playing css or HL2 TF2 and so on i have played non HL2 engine games such as Race 07, and a couple of other racing games and i have done a furmark test to see if it was a stress problem on the GPU for whatever reason but it went through that without a problem.
i just bought an desktop computer with windows 7 ultimate edition.sometimes when i start gaming it crashes and gives this error, until now this has only occurred while playing starwars the old republic but before i reinstalled windows it happened a lot.
my computer crashes while I plug in my Huawei e1820 usb device. a. using this device on my office computer running win XP does not cause any problems
b. connecting my home computer to my office LAN does not cause BSOD at all.Had AVG anti virus - uninstalled it & had microsoft security essentials installed.
So my problem is that whenI 'm running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit I experience constant random BSOD's. This does NOT happen at all when I'm running 32 bit. My specs are as follows:
