BSOD When Computer Is Idle. No BSOD When Playing Games For Hours?

Jul 3, 2012

I started getting BSOD two weeks ago. As far as I can remember the first time I had a BSOD was on the day I installed Max Payne 3 (I read somewhere that the some guy had also this problem when he installed max payne). There were two occasions that I got a BSOD upon starting Max Payne 3. But lately I'm getting BSOD when doing low-load stuffs like browsing with no other apps opened. I've already done memtest with 10 passes with no errors. I'm 24 hours prime95 stable. I just don't get it! I've manually set my timings for my ram. I'm not doing any overclock. Everything is on stock settings.

BSOD During Upgrade From Vista Ultimate To Win 7 Ultimate

Oct 12, 2009

I've tried to upgrade from Vista Ultimate 32 bit to 7 Ultimate 32 bit numerous times now, all with the same result: a BSOD during the install process, which I get during (what I think is) the final step called "Transferring files, settings and programs."

The installation compatibility test warns me about my Nvidia drivers, which I've attempted to both remove and upgrade to the latest version, but that doesn't seem to make a difference (I still get the warning during the compatibility check, and I still get the blue screen). I'm not sure that's even the problem, either. I can't (easily) remove/replace the video card, since my mobo doesn't have onboard video, so I'd hopefully be able to avoid having to do that.

The error in the blue screen is a nebulous "REFERENCE_BY_POINTER" message. The technical information is "STOP: 0x00000018 (0x00000000, 0x86478030, 0x00000002, 0xFFFFFFFF)."

As a zip file, I've attached the setup log, error log, compatibility report, and what I think is the setup dump file, all of which I found in C:$WINDOWS.~BTSourcesPanther (I believe that's the right place to look). The logs complain about BthMig problems, which I think has something to do with bluetooth, but I don't have any bluetooth peripherals. I've uninstalled things that I thought might have some bluetooth things in it, like MS Intellitype (maybe a stretch), but again, no difference.

System specs: AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+, on an Asus M2N SLI Deluxe, with 4 GB of ram, and an Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT. The hard drive I'm installing (upgrading) on has about 100 GB free.

BSOD While Playing BF3 - Windows 7

Dec 23, 2011

First off I have a newly built system.....i7-2600K 4.4 GHz, 8MB Corsiair Dominator 1600 MHz, EVGA GTX 590, Asus P67 Sabertooth MOB, all water cooled....need a say more?As the title says I am gettign random BSOD's while I play BF3. I always seem to get a "BF3.exe has stopped working" message during everygame, and the game crashes. I have re-installed everything so that did not work. I've done a little research and this seems to be a reacurring issue with a lot of people and seemed to happen after the first patch came out for the game.I've ran an analysis on the dump files and it seems to be a "ntoskrnl.exe" file that seems to be cuasing the BSOD's.

Windows 7 BSOD While Playing Games

Jan 26, 2013

I've been experiencing very frequent BSODs while playing my games. I rarely get the BSODs if I avoid playing my games altogether, hence I suspect it has to do with my video card, or updating its driver or something. Anyway, please see attached report from WhoCrashed. I've also attached the actual dump files for your perusal.

BSOD After Fresh Install Of Windows 7 Ultimate X64

Memory: PNY Optima PC3-10666 2x4GB
GPU: Geforce 550 Ti
Mobo: GIGABYTE Z68AP-D3

PS. I thought maybe this was an install issue so I reinstalled Windows 7 x64 again without downloading any updates and its still giving me grief.

BSOD When Trying To Install Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

Jan 28, 2011

I've build a computer and want to install windows 7 x64 on it. But when I start the setup I allways get a bsod: Most of the time with this error: 0x00000124. I also had these: 0x0000007F, 0x0000009C, 0X0000007E, 0x0000000A

These are my specifications:
Mobo: MSI P45 Diamond
CPU: Intel core 2 Quad Q9650 3GHz
RAM: Kingston HyperX (KHX1600C9D3K3/6GX), I've put in 2 X 2GB in slot 1 and 3 atm.
HD: 1 Maxtor I, 1 Maxtor II (tried seperatly, no success)
Graphics: Powercolor radeon HD 6850 PCS+
PSU: OCZ ModXstream Pro, 600W

The files are loaded from the DVD, then I see the windows logo. After that I usually get a BSOD. Right before I have to do the settings and create partitions. Very rarely I can get past it and start the installation, but then a blue screen comes up anyway. When I try in Safe mode, it loads drivers until driver.sys. Then it just stops.

Right now, I've put only one memory stick in (2GB) and I tested it with memtest86+, there were no errors. I also checked the hard drive for errors. I was able to successfully install windows 2000 professional.
I also tried to install Windows XP, but that didn't work either. Could it be my graphics card? If so, what can I do about it. I don't have onboard graphics.

BSOD When Playing D3

Jul 27, 2012

I get blue screens ONLY when I Play D3, I can play it but at random times it crashes 15min-2h usually. I have re-installed D3, tried different drivers and lots of other simple stuff like memtest etc. But cant seem to get it right. About PC, I've built it myself and it has been doing this since I started playing D3. Other game I have played is Wolf Team and its not crashing. One thing I have noticed from forums is that my TP-Link Usb router have caused problems also. Its hot as cup of coffee when in use, and I already contacted TP-link about it. Just to know is that normal. This error I can find from Event Viewer. ALWAYS there when I get BSOD. So could be the reason but no idea how to fix.

Windows 7 Ultimate / Possible Graphics Card Error With BSOD?

Nov 2, 2012

I present a dilemma and acquire some assistance with anyone who is tech savvy in computers. Before I describe my problem, I just want to let you know that I have searched for this error and received no solution. But, I believe I have narrowed down what the problem is and I have a strong feeling it has something to do with or revolving around my graphics card(?). I have a report that I saved in my notepad here after the BSOD and it states that it will help describe my problem but I cannot locate it within my computer files(?) (Doesn't show up.)Any game I try to run will crash randomly, even with the settings on low, so I figured it's graphics related(?) I hope anyone can decipher this, it's very confusing and certainly frustrating. I have tried anti-virus scans, registry cleaners, even cleaning out my computer, everything seems to be in place and running fine, the whole nine yards. [code]

BSOD Mostly When Playing A Game?

Nov 23, 2011

Often, when I start up a game, it decides to crash my whole system resulting in a blue screen. Do note, however, that it has also crashed when not in a game, but only once or twice. My first thought was the ram, as it was and is giving a lot of memory errors, so I ran memtest for over 10 hours with no failures. My next thought was the CPU, so I ran prime 95 on blend and small ftt tests for over 8 hours which also proved to be stable. Next was the HDD, and I did everything from examining the SMART info to a long generic test. GPU was my last hope, but Furmark doesn't phase the card, and I even ran MemtestG80 which supposedly tests the GPUs memory as well. I do realize these tests are not the end all, and there could be a problem with any one of them that the tests didn't find. I have also reinstalled Windows Something curious happened when I ran memtest the other day. I had one stick in and left the room for a few minutes, only to come back to 7k+ errors. This was it I thought, I finally found out what was causing it. I wanted to test it again to make sure it wasn't a bug in the software, but it ran for 8 hours with no errors. So I'm lead to believe it's the ram, motherboard, memory cache, or psu. I am leaning away from the psu based on the fact that I get lucky and am able to play Skyrim on Ultra with no issue.I have attached several recent minidumps for anyone who is able to understand such things.
