[BSOD] Windows 7 64-bit Crashes When Return To Computer After Sleep/hibernate
Jul 13, 2011
My Windows 7 64-bit laptop crashes when I return to my computer after sleep/hibernate.
I cannot set up symbols on MS debugger (after many attempts) I have attached screenshots of cpu-z (both tabs) and my event viewer which lists 24 critical failures, all event ID 41: "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."
p.s. Dunno if this is important but the machine is a Sony Vaio but I have uninstalled all sony bloat ware (except Vaio Control Center)

I am running Windows 7 Pro 64bit and am having an issue with the computer returning back to sleep. At the moment, I have hybrid-sleep enabled, and if I schedule a recording while the computer is powered down in the hybrid-sleep mode, it will wake itself to record the program. However, I'd like the computer to place itself back into its previous state after the recording is complete. So far, I haven't been able to figure out how to do this. The computer wakes just fine but will not return back to sleep. I'll add that during the waking/recording process, the computer has not been touched to "wake" it up, if you will. Is there a setting in the power options that I need to check that I haven't seen?

Windows randomly started having problems returning from hibernation and I cannot figure out why. Any time it returns from hibernation the screen is black but it has a backlight to it so I can tell it's on and I can hear the discs spinning so I know it's working. I have to hard boot it to get it back. I tried increasing the paging file size in virtual memory. I have 8GB of ram and I increased my paging file all the way to 16GB just to be safe. Reinstalled video card drivers.

I've tried removing AVG using their removal tools and instructions. I've tried fully removing my video and mobo drivers with driver sweeper and installing the latest GPU and Motherboard drivers and flashed the latest Motherboard BIOS. I've scoured forum after forum and seen similar issues and tried countless solutions. I haven't seen someone with my -exact- problem and -exact- spec/error reports so I'm caving lol. I build and maintain PC's as a hobby and I like to solve problems on my own know-how but I am at wits end with this BSOD.
Quick specs:
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
8 gigs DDR3 Gskil
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Denab
Nvidia GeForce GTS 250 (x2 SLI)
Asus M4N75TD nForce 740a Malwarebytes Antimalware

BSOD on an Acer Aspire 5750. It is pretty much brand new, but I have been trouble shooting this for about 3 weeks and have just now learned about the dmp files but am not yet good at reading them.
BlueScreenView seems to point to some kernel exe that is at the very core of Windows 7, but from what I have read it is most surely a driver as it only happens when waking up from sleep.

Some weeks ago I made a reinstall of my Win7 Home Premium x64 (a Dell M1330 with 4gb RAM). After then, my machine starts having random BSOD errors when going or recovering from sleep or hibernate mode. The error is a DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE, with code 0x0000009f.I attach here the info grabbed with W7F Diagnostic Tool, CPU z pictures and RAMmon html report. If it helps, here is the info I see with WinDbg looking the last minidump.

I am running Win 7 x64 at my notebook Acer 5820TG (i5 430M, ATI Mobility Radeon 5650, 4GB RAM, 640 GB HDD). On a different forum someone checked my crash dumps and figured out that my BSODs are being caused by my Broadcom wireless driver (BCM43225).Basically, I get a BSOD whenever I put the computer to sleep/hibernate. NTB is trying for around 10 minutes go to the sleep/hibernate mode but after this time BSOD appears.I have tried a few different versions of my broadcom driver. Regardless, I still get a BSOD error. I have been using Windows 7 for over a year, and this only started happening on my last update of my notebook (SP1, VGA drivers, ...).

I upgraded to Windows 7 when it was first released and for some reason cannot use the sleep function. My power options in the control panel are set to "Balanced." I've opened up every menu I can think of and changed the settings but can't figure out why I can only use hibernate.

I got my laptop a few weeks ago and noticed that it will sometimes go into hibernate, and other times it will not, and instead hang on a black (but enabled/on) LCD. When you touch the keyboard, it even makes Windows 7 dings for incorrectly pressed key (meaning the OS is still on). If it is going into sleep or hibernate due to low battery and this error happens, it will just keep beeping really loudly at me until the laptop dies (I'm assuming that's the motherboard's part, though).I have no idea what to do, and I'm really freaking puzzled right now. I've already tried turning hybrid sleep on and off, and neither of them yielded any positive results. Anyone have any clue what I should do?
PS: I've noticed last night after gaming for a bit, that the fans remained in a full blast state (yes, even when the game is closed). This might be related to it although I am not sure. Also, I cannot upgrade my video drivers because the graphics are integrated with the Intel Integrated Graphics, meaning the drivers are made by the manufacturer.
Here's my laptop specifications by the way:
-1920x1080 LED Backlit Display
-2GB GDDR5 AMD Radeon 7970m
-Intel Core i7 3720QM Quad-Core Processor (2.60GHz), 6MB Cache
-8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz (2 X 4GB)
-Genuine MS Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit Edition
-Slot 1: 256GB Samsung 830 Series - Solid State Drive
-Slot 2: 500GB SATA 3.0Gb/s, 7200RPM, 16MB Cache HDD
-Integrated High-Definition Audio with THX TruStudio Pro and up to 7.1 Channel support
-Wi-Fi Link 802.11A/B/G/N Wireless LAN Module with Bluetooth - Up to 300 Mbps
-SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Ports

I've been running into a strange BSOD with Windows 7. I'm running a Lenovo X220 notebook, Intel i3 2.1 GHz machine. Recently, whenever I put my computer to sleep or hibernate, Windows fails to sleep and I receive a shutdown error upon restarting Windows.
I have already run Memtest, which confirmed the health of my RAM, but I still can't seem to figure this one out.

I have an inspiron 1545 running windows 7 (x64) and I am having problems waking up my computer from sleep . Usually, when I put my computer to sleep, I have problems waking up my computer. The screen stays relatively dark when I move my mouse although I can see some light coming from the bottom part of the screen (so the screen seems to be on, just not showing anything sueful). When I try to press the space bar multiple times, my computer gives me a warning ding and it plays a sound when I insert or remove my usb mouse.

I've been experiencing this problem for about a week now. It started seemingly randomly, as I haven't made any significant changes to my computer. If I try to hibernate or shut down my computer it hangs up on either "Logging off" or "Shutting down" and stays there. I've let it run for as long as an hour, but ultimately I have to crash my computer every time I need to turn it off.

I am using windows 7 ultimate and facing great problem. Whenever I put my PC to sleep, on resuming it crashes giving a blue screen of death message. I am never able to put my PC on sleep which quite inconvenient. Actually my video card does not support windows 7 aero or there are no WDDM drivers available for my card which is ATI RADEON 9250. I am ready to upload any crash minidump files or any other log files. Also tell me if any WDDM drivers are there for my video card as I am not able to get them anywhere. Is this video card the only reason for the problem

When I sleep or hibernate my computer, within 10 seconds of it turning off, it turns back on again by itself. When it turns back on, there is no output on my monitor. I used remote desktop from another computer to see whether it was just the video that wasn't being reposted, but when I tried to connect, it couldn't find the computer. None of the keys work on my keyboard, including the sleep and power buttons.
I have an ASUS P5LD2 Deluxe motherboard, and an Intel 3.0 GHz processor. I'm also running the x64 version of Windows 7.
Any ideas how to stop it starting up autonomously ?

My computer has been crashing every time it goes into sleep mode. I just bought it 2 months ago, so this is especially troubling. It works fine, other than getting the Blue Screen of Death every time I wake it up. Microsoft ® Windows Debugger Version 6.12.0002.633 AMD64 Copyright © Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

I have a homebuilt system that I have had for a little over a year now. I am currently having an issue when waking my computer from sleep. When I wake the computer, I can see the machine turn on and start up (LED fans light up) but the monitor stays black. It stays like that and my only option is to do a hard reset.
After resetting the computer, it says its resuming windows and lets me login, but it runs very slow for a while. On my next restart, the computer "checks the disk for consistency", and then after that everything is normal again.
This doesn't happen every time I put it to sleep, but it has been happening a lot lately. I had this issue last year, but it just stopped, and i can't remember if I had done anything to fix it. I did not have this problem again until sometime last week. The only thing I did last week was I installed the new drivers for my video card and uninstalled/reinstalled MSI afterburner.

I have a Dell Latitude E6420 with an Intel Core i7 processor and 4gb of RAM. Lately, my computer has become very sluggish; especially after coming out of sleep mode to the point I have to restart to have a decent performance. More importantly, often when in sleep mode or hibernation, the computer crashes. I've run two spyware programs (spybot and Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware) which removed a few issues, but the core problems persist. I've updated all microsoft programs (windows and office), run Norton virus scans, and CCleaner, but no change. Finally, I must say that at times the laptop runs really hot. That was never the case before.

Whenever I press the sleep button on my computer, or when I leave it idle and it goes to sleep by itself, I get a blue screen of death. I would really like to solve thiNow, this computer came with an AMD video card, but I uninstalled those drivers and took out the video card and installed a GTX 570 from EVGA. The drivers are up to date, so I am pretty sure the new hardware is installed correctly. Furthermore, it was not doing this for the first few months of having the video card installed. This is very recent, so I don't understand what it could be

It will not honor the "Return to Sleep" timeout value that is in the registry - when the Power Plan is set to High Performance. If this plan is in play - and I need the machine to wake for - say - a backup at 2:00am...the machine will wake okay - and then NEVER go back to sleep.

I have a Win7 Ultrabook. I'm using Areca backup software to backup my personal data.I created a Scheduled Task to run my backup weekly.I set it so that it would wake from sleep to run the task. But I'm having trouble finding a setting to tell it to return to sleep if it woke itself up. Is it possible to do so?In the alternative, is there something I can insert in my batch file (the scheduled task runs a bat file) to tell my book to enter sleep mode?
