Oct 29, 2009System shows a blank screen saying disc reading error, press ctlr-alt and delete to restart, when I do, it ust goes back to the same screen

The Screen Turns Black, And After A While A Box Pops Up Reading; 'window Error Recovery'
Mar 23, 2008I just got a new laptop with vista a few months ago. Everything ran smoothly until recently when I went to turn it on and got an error message that???s repeated ever since. It shows the black 'vista' page, the screen turns black, and after a while a box pops up reading; 'window error recovery' A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. It suggests I launch startup Repair. However when I do so it says "startup repair cannot repair this computer automatically."
I've tried going into system recovery options and using system restore to a date when it was working correctly, but it seemed to have no effect. I haven???t changed any hardware or software recently, and the only thing plugged into it was the power cord. I'm afraid I'm not very tech savvy, but I don't want to give up on a brand
new computer!
DVD RW Not Reading Blank DVD Disks
Oct 7, 2009I have a Toshiba A100 laptop with vista home premium installed on it. I am trying to burn DVD disks on my laptop, and when i insert a disk it says i don't have a disk in the drive and i should input one. I tried several DVD disks, including a rewritable one. I looked at a similar Toshiba laptop, and it does write DVD disks.
I don't know how long i've had this prob since, i use this option very rarely. Is there a way to fix the DVD drive without replacing it? and keeping reinstalling windows as last option ? (I'm not sure reinstalling will help). The drive does read DVD disks that have something on them. The drive does burn CD type disks
Error Recovery Page, Blank Screen
Dec 20, 2008I have a Advent laptop which recently decided not to load Windows Vista, when i tried to launch from the error recovery page it wouldnt start andjust gave me a blank screen. It also didnt work using a the windows Vista download from neosmart. and gave me the same blank screen when loading from the multi-boot screen.
I then downloaded a program called 'KillDisk' and i asked it to wipe out my Vista from my computer, whichit done succesfully, i decided to try my Windows Vista recovery disc and this time it did load the installation page, i put in my product key before it said there was something wrong (Cant remember exactly) i then tried to restore it using the repair computer options on the installation page before itthen said what was wrong with my laptop, 'Boot sector for system disk partition is corrupt' How can i sort this out!?!
Reading Attachments BLANK Page
Jul 29, 2009yesterday I received several attachments in Windows mail and was able to open them and print out the attached .doc which was written in a microsoft word program. Today.....when I try to open the same documentattachments it is a BLANK page.

According to Pioneer High Fidelity Taiwan, this also allows the pick-up head of the disc to match that of current Blu-ray technology, allowing the discs to be played using current drives. Pioneer’s plan to release the disc to the public in 2010 is followed swiftly by the release of rewritable discs in 2010-2012. Oct 29, 2008I have burned many DVD (data) on my XP before I switch a computer. Now that I have a Vista x64, the CD drive won't read them. If I use ISOBuster I can see the track and extract them. But if I use Windows Explorer it will prompt me to "prepare blank disc"! Any help? I already finalize the disc and confimred it. Do a hardware diagnostic check and turns out nothing went wrong. By the way, how can I make Vista not look for application if I insert other CD.

Nov 3, 2008When im watching my shows on my notebook, i always get a annoying error. It keeps freezing all the time! When the movie inside gets faster ( someone is running or fighting ) it tends to freeze a bit and then move on. Its not the movie problem , cause if i replay the video, in the same second that it freezed, it wouldnt freeze in there. I Use VLC Media Player, and already tried it on Windows Media Player, so i think it is not a Player issue. And also, my Framerate is always low in lineage II. I don't understand ! is there a error with my Graphics Card? Cause it is starting to annoy me! I open a folder, and i have to wait like 10 seconds for the Icons to show up.Is it vista? That uses more of my CPU and (kill it)? Even Firefox sometimes lasts 30 seconds or one minute to open up.

May 3, 2010i installed windows xp first on my 1tb hard drive on a partition that worked fine, then i installed vista 64bit on a second partition and that was fine i got the option to dual boot and everything was fine. Now i decided to get rid of the xp partition because i wasnt using it so i copied all the files i wanted from it and put it in my vista partition then i used geparted (3rd party partition tool) to format my xp partition.
I then restarted my pc and get a error please insert system disc, now i think the problem is because the xp was first to install that has all the boot records on it so when i formatte dthe partition i deleted the boot files etc etc. I used my vista recovery disc and used the command prompt to try and re write the mbr using bootrec.exe/fixmbr and /fixboot and a few pther option but nothing worked. I had a similar problem a while ago i wrote a simialr command using the recover console to re write the whole mbr but cant remember what it was.Now i have reinstalled vista on the xp partition and can get access to my other vista partition but really want to make the other partition bootable again..........
Dual Boot, Corrupt Disc Error
Oct 27, 2009I have a toshiba laptop. It is running Vista Home Premium 32bit. I did a dual boot and installed windows 7 premium 32bit on a second partition. It installed fine but I ran into driver problems as well as a corrupt disc error. I decided to go back to vista and formatted the 7 partition. When I restart my pc I still get the option to boot into 7. How do I remove this option?

When I boot from the install disc and run the install program it give me error code 0x80004005 and says that my computer does not have enough free space. What are these entries? The total data of all 4 almost are a full GIG of drive space. Does this data at some point automatically get deleted? Can they "all" be safely deleted? Some and if so, which ones.
Repair: Shows Black Screen With A Mouse
Aug 16, 2009A few days ago i tried turning my computer on and it jsut kept restarting it self, with quick BSOD every time it boot. Ive had this problem b4, I fixed with repair.(this time the repair disk wasnt on me, i downloaded 1, if this is the case i will try the real one at my dads house) But this time when i try enter vista repair It shows black screen with a mouse.

Blank Screen After Upgrade To 4GB RAM
Sep 18, 2009I had 2.5GB of RAM in HP laptop. OS - vista home premium service pack2.
The system works fine.
I upgraded to 4GB RAM(2*2GB). when upgraded to 4GB in bios able to see as ~3.33GB of RAM. I am able to see microsoft progress bar also, but after that the screen is blank and able to hear windows logon sound but no display. The screen is black.
When installed only the new 2GB of RAM the system work fine. So no problem with the new 2GB also. But with 4GB the screen is blank. I have nvidia GeForce 7400 graphics card. Is there any configuration need to be done in vista before installing 4GB of RAM?
Blank Screen At Login
Jan 18, 2010I accidently turned my Dell laptop off while it was performing windows updates. When I restarted the laptop it goes to the login screen and then goes blank (i cant enter the username/password).
I have tried the following:
1. Starting in safe mode (same issue)
2. Using the boot dvd and trying the different options in there (Repair, Restore to safe point, Memory check).
3. Using the boot dvd I have tried several different restore points, including the original store point.
4. I have looked through every forum and every post I can find and cannot find any suggested resolutions.

HELP TOPIC NOT FOUND: "This Content Under Construction". "We Were Unable To Retrieve The required Topic". Have tried all the reg. fixes have seen for restoring Help & Support and ones relevant to this particular error message without success. No other problems with Vista Ultimate and have no idea why or when occurred.
