Possible To Create One DVD With Several Slideshows
Jun 16, 2008Is it possible to create one DVD with several slideshows which can be chosen from the menu, or is it just one slideshow per DVD?

Create An Account For Another User I Cannot Create One, Either Admin Or Standard
Sep 13, 2009I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 32 (system specs: laptop 2.1 Ghz core 2 duo, 4 gb RAM, 500gb hd (about half full) nvidia 8400M GS, Avira Premium Security Suite). I have had the computer for about a year running fine with 1 main admin account. Now when I need to create an account for another user I cannot create one, either admin or standard. When I create it, using either the control panel or command prompt, it creates the user picture, making the account visible on the control panel user accounts screen, and on logon screen. However, when trying to log into the new account I am greeted with the error "User profile service failed on logon. User profile cannot be loaded." The standard fix for this from various forums is to edit the registry key of the account. However, on going to regedit I see that no key even exists for the account. On further investigation I discover that no user files have been created either. I attempted a system restore, but discovered that all my past restore points were gone, and intruigingly, the computer had stopped createing 24 hour checkpoints. I cannot say for definite whether it was this issue or another one that caused system restore to mess up, as I don't check my system restore all that often. Either way, system restore is not an option. There have been mentions of a full Vista reinstall, though if at all possible I would like to avoid this.

Apr 30, 2010I am having problems with creating shortcuts on my desktop. when i select send to desktop (create shortcut) it comes up with the error. Windows could create the shortcut. Check to see if the disc is full.I have over 180 GB free space left. To get things to the desktop i can drag it into the tab section next to the start icon, and then drag onto desktop.But when i do this i am always required to give permission and it creates two desktop icons.i have been having problems with my catalyst control centre but i dont think they are related.

Mar 5, 2009When I install Vista, it wants to force me to create a local account, and it won't let me create one called Administrator, becuase the name is already used (thus the Administrator account exists). I don't want to create some dummy account just just to log in to join the domain. How do I get past the "Choose a user name and picture" screen and log in as Administrator so I can just install the network drivers and join my domain?

Won't Let Me Create New Folders
May 19, 2008After a month or two honeymoon with my new computer last summer, Windows Vista quit letting me create new file folders!!! This is really, really annoying, needless to say.
The other thing is that Windows Vista crashed this weekend and lost some of my files - and the start menu quit working. I think some of the indexes got screwed up or something. I don't know what brought this on except that we had a couple of power failures - and the machine doesn't seem to run chkdsk automatically on restart. If I started the machine and walked away and didn't see the prompt, then I've been using a 'dirty disk' for a week or two and it finally crashed. Or I also installed wireless networking. Also Windows Update downloads automatically and could have downloaded something incompatible with my software. So who knows what might have caused this .I couldn't restore either - now if I ask for Windows restore, it comes up
with an error message.I've been using DOS and windows machines for 20 years and I've never had this happen to me before. I've always had virus checkers and been conscientious about backing up my data.

I am looking at that file! I have opened "command prompt" and cd to that subdirectory. question: Am I trying to fight UAC? I am *certain* that my spelling is correct.

May 20, 2009I have a sony vaio vgn fw21m laptop with vista home premium 32. Each time i try to create a new network connection (connect to the internet - bradband(pppoe)I enter the Username and Password) i get: "The wizard cannot create the connection". I was searching the forums over and over and I cant find nothing useful. There is no problem with my ISP (optical) (on an other laptop runing winXP I can connect with no problems). The funny thing is that I was able to connect to this ISP with no problems, but I lost the conection shortcut after a vista system restore (there was a keyboard problem, no biggy). I also can connect to another ISP (on another location) that does not require a login/password I just have to eneble the right profile. What I can deduct is, that it is probably a problem directly connectet to vista network and sharing center. I alredy reinstaled the ethrnet driver and vaio smart network.

Dec 26, 2007I'm trying to partition drive C but it won't let me. New laptop is Toshiba Satellite and had the store configure it for me since I'm new to Vista.
1. Through Disk Management, I shrink drive C and now have an unallocated space of 51G.
2. From the unallocated space, I create a new simple volume. It goes through the Wizard, but then I get the following error message: "The attempted operation is invalid. Either the parameters specified are invalid or the operation cannot be completed on the selected object."
3. The contour of the unallocated space is highlighted in black instead of green. Is that an indication of something? And shouldn't it say: Free space instead of unallocated? Additional info:.....

Nov 6, 2008My Office suite has had a bit of a fit, and the fix I've found involves creating a new user account, then exporting that account's registry. The kicker is that when I create a new user account, nothing happens. The profile shows up, as does the picture, but no directory is created in the Users folder, nor in the registry.
So, it shows up, but doesn't actually exist, and when I try and sign on to this new account, it says "The user profile service failed the log in. The user account can not be loaded." why this is happening and how to fix it?
Create The User And Password Again
Dec 5, 2007I have created a task to start my Folding@Home client when the computer starts (the SMP client won't run as a service yet). The FAH client needs to run as admin, so I checked the "Run with highest privileges" box, enabled the option to run whether user is logged in or not and entered my user and password when prompted. If I run the task manually it starts and runs correctly.
When the computer is restarted, the client does not start and an error message is waiting in Task Scheduler as follows:Event ID: 101 OP Code: 6619136 Error Value: 2147943726When initially setting this up, I remember the error message saying something about a bad username/password. That isn't in the Task Scheduler history though. If I open the task and simply resave it (changing nothing, but entering username/password again), the task will start manually. This is so close, but very frustrating that such a simple task won't quite work.
How To Create A Recovery Disk
Mar 26, 2008I am trying to create a Recovery Disk in my Acer laptop, I went through their User Manual and there was not enough information to the procedure. Could some one point me in the right direction so that I can do this. My hard disk has a hidden partition of 7.8GB with EISA Configuration but in the Disk Management it says it is 100% Free. The other partition is C: which is my system partition. I hope I have given enough information if not please let me know. I have also requested the Acer but I believe they will only direct me to their eRecovery Management Tool.

Feb 6, 2009i just got a new comp and i had vista installed and i made a xp partition but it was buggy and i couldnt boot into both so i figured id do a clean install so i completely erased my hd from dos at vista install screen and now i have 1 700g drive that says disk 0 unallocated space and when i click next i get a error saying.

May 23, 2009I just tried to create a new primary partition using Disk Management. I get the error "You cannot create a new volume in this unallocated space because the disk already contains the maximum number of partitions." Ultimate goal is to create two more bootable partitions on my hard disk, one for Windows 7 and the other for Ubuntu. My C drive contains Windows Vista, my D drive has program files, and my E drive contains data. According to what I found online, you can have up to four primary partitions on a disk.
