Contact Groups In Windows Mail : Find Out Which Groups Person Belongs To

Mar 29, 2009

I have over 20 different Groups set up in my Address Book. In the good old Outlook Express Address Book, I could open a Contact and in the "Other" tab, I could see a list of all the Groups that the person belongs to. In Windows Mail Contacts. I successfully imported all my Contacts and Groups. But is there a way to find out which Groups a person belongs to? It's too time consuming to manually search through each of my 20 groups. The Help section claims that Windows Mail has all the features of Outlook Express. but the list of Groups a person belongs to is obviously
missing. show me that I can display a list of Groups for each person. I rely heavily on Groups. Just for example, if I have multiple entries for the same person (with different email addresses), I can tell which one is the most current by looking at which email address is part of a recently set up Group.

Create An Account For Another User I Cannot Create One, Either Admin Or Standard

Sep 13, 2009

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 32 (system specs: laptop 2.1 Ghz core 2 duo, 4 gb RAM, 500gb hd (about half full) nvidia 8400M GS, Avira Premium Security Suite). I have had the computer for about a year running fine with 1 main admin account. Now when I need to create an account for another user I cannot create one, either admin or standard. When I create it, using either the control panel or command prompt, it creates the user picture, making the account visible on the control panel user accounts screen, and on logon screen. However, when trying to log into the new account I am greeted with the error "User profile service failed on logon. User profile cannot be loaded." The standard fix for this from various forums is to edit the registry key of the account. However, on going to regedit I see that no key even exists for the account. On further investigation I discover that no user files have been created either. I attempted a system restore, but discovered that all my past restore points were gone, and intruigingly, the computer had stopped createing 24 hour checkpoints. I cannot say for definite whether it was this issue or another one that caused system restore to mess up, as I don't check my system restore all that often. Either way, system restore is not an option. There have been mentions of a full Vista reinstall, though if at all possible I would like to avoid this.

Create Local Account Won't Create One Called Admin

Mar 5, 2009

When I install Vista, it wants to force me to create a local account, and it won't let me create one called Administrator, becuase the name is already used (thus the Administrator account exists). I don't want to create some dummy account just just to log in to join the domain. How do I get past the "Choose a user name and picture" screen and log in as Administrator so I can just install the network drivers and join my domain?

Microsoft Discussion Groups

May 19, 2010

I went lurking in the Microsoft Discussion Groups. My problem is I couldn't find a category for any Microsoft Office products or Microsoft Secutrity Essentials. Maybe I didn't look long enough. If I did and there are no categories for these products here why do we need to go to a separate forum for these. Why aren't they all in the same place? Also is there a way to filter the categories so I can only be exposed to the microsoft categories?

Suggestion For WIndows7

Jun 12, 2009

Why are useless "applications", business people could give two flying craps about, like MOVIE MAKER - I spent half hour to delete because it required me to gain Ownership and assign Full Control to that folder before the pest could be deleted (100MB+ freed!), why are they included.

But useful applications ar enot, nowadays?

The VolumeControl is abhorrent comparing to WinXP.

But now I hear Win7 won't include Email Client?

I have to download separately?

Is that due to antitrust/antimonopoly regulations?

If so, can Microsoft please to ALSO not include goddamn MovieMaker, PhotoGallery, etc. and leave it for download for people who care about crapware?

Can Microsoft NOT include other dubious applications, if Email is removed.

Or at least do NOT crate pest foledrs which can't be deleted w;/o resorting to DOS tools or elaborate file killing techniques as I was forced to w/WinPhotoGallery?

What is more important - an Email Client or yet another image/video player or another shiny useless object (useless for busieness & educated people who work, not play on computers)?

News Groups Mail Does Not Access

May 11, 2008

I use Outlook for my e-mails. Unfortunately, Outlook does not have access to news groups. When I go to Mail to get access to the news groups, Mail downloads all of the e-mails since I last used Mail. It may have been weeks since my last use of Mail so the list is rather long (hundreds). Is there any way to stop downloading all of these e-mails that I have already dealt with on Outlook? Why does Outlook not provide access to Newsgroups?

Unable To Move Contacts To Groups...

Jan 14, 2010

I'm trying to organize and condense my Contacts by moving everyone into Groups. However, unlike OE, WM doesn't seem to allow me to move my individual contacts into groups; it only copies them, leaving me with more clutter than before. Is there any way I can do this in WM or, failing that, any third-party utility to help?

Program Management Groups Don't Drive Usability

Subject: Windows Usability Systematic degradation flame. I am quite disappointed at how Windows Usability has been going backwards and the program management groups don't drive usability issues. Let me give you my experience from yesterday. I decided to download (Moviemaker) and buy the Digital Plus pack ... so I went to Microsoft.com. They have a download place so I went there.

The first 5 times I used the site it timed out while trying to bring up the download page. Then after an 8 second delay I got it to come up. This site is so slow it is unusable. It wasn't in the top 5 so I expanded the other 45. These 45 names are totally confusing. These names make stuff like: C: Documents and SettingsillgMy DocumentsMy Pictures seem clear..............
