View 8 Replies View RelatedI disagree with all the responses I had about creating a Service Pack
specific NG.
I am not asking for a new Group for each SP for each OS. Jjust one group that relates to Service Pack related problems.
I don't care if its, Microsoft.Public.Windows.Service-Packs
or
Microsoft.Windows.Vista.Service-Packs
Whichever would work but the "General" topic is just not specific enough.
I only found this "General" by accident. I certainly would NOT have come searching here for SP related issues had there not been so many here already.
I formally request that Microsoft create a group that is on topic and related to the Extremely problematic SP release for Vista.
I guess if this SP1 for Vista wasn't such a unique monster, I might not have requested this and would have accepted "Genera" as goodenough.
Windows Vista, Windows Mail Whenever I change my addressbook view so that it will display "create group list", whene I startup my PC and open Windows Mail, my "create group list" is not displayed as it seems to revert back to the default of "picture or video" (in customize tab in address book). Can someone tell me how to set the default so "create group list"is also displayed when I open Address book?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWe are having trouble adding new groups in Windows Mail. For some reason, it no longer gives us the option of choosing to add a group instead of a single contact. I've clicked on "File" then "New" but "Contact Group" or "Group" is not an option, nor is there a group button on the toolbar. Is there a problem with our settings? We used to be able to add them and now we can't unless we copy an existing group.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am running Windows Vista Home Premium 32 (system specs: laptop 2.1 Ghz core 2 duo, 4 gb RAM, 500gb hd (about half full) nvidia 8400M GS, Avira Premium Security Suite). I have had the computer for about a year running fine with 1 main admin account. Now when I need to create an account for another user I cannot create one, either admin or standard. When I create it, using either the control panel or command prompt, it creates the user picture, making the account visible on the control panel user accounts screen, and on logon screen. However, when trying to log into the new account I am greeted with the error "User profile service failed on logon. User profile cannot be loaded." The standard fix for this from various forums is to edit the registry key of the account. However, on going to regedit I see that no key even exists for the account. On further investigation I discover that no user files have been created either. I attempted a system restore, but discovered that all my past restore points were gone, and intruigingly, the computer had stopped createing 24 hour checkpoints. I cannot say for definite whether it was this issue or another one that caused system restore to mess up, as I don't check my system restore all that often. Either way, system restore is not an option. There have been mentions of a full Vista reinstall, though if at all possible I would like to avoid this.

Check to see if the disc is full.I have over 180 GB free space left. To get things to the desktop i can drag it into the tab section next to the start icon, and then drag onto desktop. But when i do this i am always required to give permission and it creates two desktop icons.i have been having problems with my catalyst control centre but i dont think they are related.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I install Vista, it wants to force me to create a local account, and it won't let me create one called Administrator, becuase the name is already used (thus the Administrator account exists). I don't want to create some dummy account just just to log in to join the domain. How do I get past the "Choose a user name and picture" screen and log in as Administrator so I can just install the network drivers and join my domain?

The tradition is to march through the village every year in a ritual to purify the harvest land from evil spirits and to welcome the coming Spring.
Why they walk in relative safety on the serene streets of downtown Ituren is a question that has puzzled sociologists and anthropologists for decades. When asked, the men of Iturene state, "cuz that's where the booze is". For the curious, here's what the bravaduras looked like photographically.

I have antivirus software and Anti Malware bytes installed.
The problem i have is that the machine seems to slow down and sometimes crash whenever I click on internet explorer and many other applications such as office 2007 etc, etc. I have run the Norton Virus protection which was clean - I run the Malaware and picked up several Trojans which i have cleared. The problem is still extant.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMicrosoft to release Vista SP2 beta to more testers next week | All about Microsoft | ZDNet.com Posted by Mary Jo Foley @ 11:36 am Microsoft will release a beta of its forthcoming Vista Service Pack 2 (SP2) to a wider group of testers on October 29. Microsoft had been testing SP2 among a very select group of testers for the past couple of weeks. Last week, the company began signing up testers for a broader beta, which testers were told would be released sometime in the next four weeks. As the Hotfix.Net site reported, Microsoft has begun rolling out that broader beta of Vista SP2 this week. The build number for the beta is 16489. (Thanks to Neowin for the pointer to the Hotfix site.) Via the Vista Team blog, Microsoft said on October 24 to expect an even wider group of Technology Adoption Program (TAP) testers to get the SP2 beta bits on October 29.
Testers who received invitations to the Vista SP2 beta said they were told it would incorporate Windows Search 4, support for the VIA 64-bit CPU and Bluetooth support. Microsoft confirmed some of those fixes and features will be in the final SP2 in today’s blog posting. The company also said to expect SP2 to: Add the ability to record data on to Blu-Ray media natively in Windows Vista. Add Windows Connect Now (WCN) to simplify Wi-Fi Configuration. Enable the exFAT file system to support UTC timestamps, which allows correct file synchronization across time zones. I haven’t yet heard about any testers getting the Windows Server 2008 SP2 bits. That beta seemingly was timed to coincide with the Vista SP2 one. I’ve asked Microsoft for more information on when testers can expect to get those beta bits. No word so far............
