Can't Find Nvidia Control Panel
Jun 10, 2007doesn't seem to have changed anything. I can't find the Nvidia Control panel anywhere (there's an Nvdia folder on the C drive but no workable applications that I can see), and there musn't be any ethernet driver installed either as I can't get online (BT Voyager 205).
I guessing it's because the drivers don't fully support my set-up, but hoping I'm wrong on that and somebody can direct me to a download for compatible drivers! If all else fails I'll go back to XP, but obviously I'd prefer a workable version of Vista.

Mar 23, 2008I have a simple text file with a certain word in it. I try to find this text file, but vista won't find it. Windows 2000, linked by network, finds it within a second.
I have tried all available options.
"include non-indexed"
"always search file names and contents"
"find partial matches"
"include subfolders"
etc
etc
It just doesn't work. Why is there not a simple search function that actually works like in windows2000? I am using Vista Ultimate 64 bit. But not having a working search function doesn't look that "ultimate" to me.

Jun 16, 2009I have a dual boot system with Win XP on one partition and Vista 64 Ultimate on the second partition. Sometime recently, perhaps at the latest Windows Update on Vista, my nVidia Control Panel stopped working in Vista 64. I am using nVidia driver 185.85, the latest non-beta version available. I am using nVidia system tools 6.05, the latest set available. I have cleaned out my drivers with Driver Sweeper, and reloaded them with no change. I have loaded the drivers with all virus software shut down, with all unnecessary apps shut down. When I try to start up the nVidia control panel, whether in the Windows Control Panel or other shortcut, Vista tells me that "nVidia Control Panel has stopped working". I am getting the impression that the nVidia drivers are not running, since when I add them they are not defaulting to max resolution like they normally do. The system seems to be running on some default video driver instead. CPU, GPU, MCP temperatures are nominal, no indications of problems there.......

When I print to this fax server in Windows XP the Fax Wizard walks me thru all the necesarry screens and remembers my Delivery Notification settings, i.e. whether I want a notification, the email address I want the notification sent to and the attach a copy of the fax to the notification.
All of these settings I can find in the XP Registry at HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftFaxUserInfoReceiptEMail(dword), ReceiptAttachFax(dword) and ReceiptAddress(string). However, I cannot find these same settings in Vista Registry. I can set these each time I send a fax in Vista under ToolsOptions, but it is a pain to have to set these everytime I send a fax in Vista. Where can I find the equivalent Vista Registry values?

Dec 26, 2007I am not a native english speaker, so don't hate me for language problems. So, the problem I have here is that Windows Vista does not find any DRM protected music files I have. I am a new Napster Flatrate To-Go user. I can download alot of albums, but of course they are DRM protected, which is not a problem for me. But what is an problem for me is, that any downloaded files won't be found by the index. The music files of Napster are stored in my music folder (C:Users...Music), so the indexer should find them. Any other music I had (non DRM protected files) can be found easily via the Startmenu, the search dialog and Windows Media Player. The DRM protected files can't be found, except than in Windows Media Player. I already deleted the old index-cache and created a new one, but that didn't help either. Anyone else with this problem? Or a solution maybe? Or is this a general "bug" in Windows Vista?

So far -I have done everything to this machine from creating a virtual window in Vista64, to going into the command prompt from vista boot disk and running diskpart to clear hard drive.
I currently have -Two partitions on one disk. Primary 200GIG and Healthy 265GIG -Windows Vista Home Premium64 installed and running
The problems im having -every time try to boot from CD and run the windows xp setup, it is UNABLE to find ANY HARD DRIVES!
I have researched that
- I must have the disk partitioned
- Windows XP must be installed first
- I have to play with the boot.ini
- If i install vista32 it will be more successful
The errors I have gotten -STOP: 0x0000008E - i researched this and it said one option is to take out the excess RAM
I will be happy if - By the end of this weekend I can successfully run XP or both OS's in dual boot.
I need to go through all this trouble because - Digidesign has not written software for 64 bit proccessing yet. I need to make music.
