Mar 23, 2008My vista home premium seems to have a problem with its music media replay. When I open a song file, the music id fine but the vocals sound distant, inaudible and a large amount of echo. I did download an mp3 player called morpher or something very similar but deleted after playing two songs, has this damaged my music files or my computer? I am unsure if the mp3 player is the culprit but all was fine beforehand.
I have updated the realtek driver but has made no difference to the vocal reproduction. I have also tried a system restore to a date well before the mp3 player was put onto the computer, it still made no difference.
Access User 1's Music Folder Gives Error
Jul 29, 2009I am setting up a Vista machine for a family of four, each one has iphones and/or ipods. Each one has their own login. I set up itunes for user 1 fine, BUT, it looks like when user 2 logs in and launches itunes, it is trying to access user 1's music folder and gives an error.

First enable natural language search, it's much easier: ...after this passage, you can type in this in the Start menu: music duration >3600000000 and you'll find all MP3s greater than 360 seconds (6 mins)! Isn't that simple? Don't ask my you have to add 7 zeroes after the seconds, but it works! Obviously you can do much more with the Advanced Query Syntax and this is just an example Hope this hint can be useful for others as it was for me... Mar 23, 2008After I upgraded to Vista my computer has not worked right. It's slower, needs to be restarted every day, I have no sound and other low memory problems. I have noticed that the windows old file is 43 GB which is almost half of my total memory. Is the best thing to fix my computer to go back to XP or just get rid of large files like the windows old so Vista can run properly.

Apr 26, 2010So this, has been by life for the past little while. I have a Gateway M520 laptop, wich had XP on it, and i upgraded to vista. When i did that, I lost my sound. I have spent hours on the net, on the manufacturers websites, in random forums, Only to not find an awnser, and be left without sound. Nothing is muted, All drivers are supposedly up to date, tried uninstalling/re-installing, Tried letting windows update do it.............no luck. Seriously about ready to take a slegehammer to my laptop, lol.

Jan 13, 2009I'm currently running my upgraded rig on Vista Ultimate 32 bit and would like to have 64 bit installed because I have 6 gigs of ram that I would like to be able to use. My problem is that when I boot from my DVD drive, it says it loads the windows files, but then when its like setting up the install or something (The green bar is scrolling across the screen), it gets hung up then, after a minute or two, becomes a BSOD. 32 bit did something similar, but never gave me blue screen just kept stopping and starting again. I'm stumped.

I can ping in either direction OK by IP only (not computer name) On the Vista system if I select 'Show Full Map' in the network center I can see the other PC I can print to the XP's printer from the Vista system (had to map it by IP. I have tried all the hints and tips I can find and for the life of me am stumped. I have set up probably 20-30 similar small networks for friends (though this is a first with Vista) and never had this problem.

This caused me to almost die, since i had many tracks and was afraid that perhaps all of my music files had disappeared from my computer. But i looked in "My Music" folder and they were still there. double click the driver

Mar 4, 2009I had at problem with Vista Ultimate, it change the order of my drive under new installation. For at wile I didīt do anything abort it, now I change them. I had to rename the drive from C, D, E, F,G to C, D, E, F,G, H, I so I cut change them to the right order. The problem is that the H; Drive (DVD) is the link to the music file map now, I cant change the the link back to standard. it says that the under file can not be made, Vista is looking at the H; DVD Drive. The Music files are F drive. How do I get the the Music file map to look at F drive and not H (drive DVD)? How do I make the missing under maps for Music files, and how do I cut the connection to the H Drive (DVD)?
