Logged Off Blue Box Corner "enhance Contrast"
Aug 16, 2008
I'm running an Acer, don't know what kind because sadly my mother made me throw away the computer box. Anyways I logged off for a minute and when I had logged off I saw a little blue box in the corner. So I clicked it and it gave me all of these options to (I suppose) enhance my computer. So I clicked a few to just try it out and look. So one of them was "enhance contrast" or something like that and when I had clicked on it my computer went all black, purple, blue, and green. It looked like this (actual screenshots from my computer) So I tried to fix this and I can't seem to do so.

I have a vbulletin 3.6x forum using IBproarcade module with 200+ games. They all work fine, but during play it gets choppy. I'm trying to figure out why its choppy on any game (many games, several different developers). Any ideas to trace this or enhance the performance? This is a personal server with a few domains on the box and not an enormous amount of traffic in general, nor at once. I even reinstalled Flash plugin as well.
Server Hardware
Centos 4x / Cpanel
[Zend Modules]
Zend Extension Manager
Zend Optimizer..............

i have a dell xps 630i thats running windows vista. on friday, around 230 eastern time, my computer crashed. when i went to turn it back on tho, i saw something different with the dell writing, and the intel logo on the bottom right corner. they both were covered with dots eveywhere. After that screen passes by, i got a different new screen that i never got before. it was a phoenix awardbios screen. and below that it said, floppy disk(s) fail (40).
never seen that before. when i try to start my computer up, i can either go to start up repair or start normally. when i do the start up repair( ive done it 9 times already) it says my computer cant fix the problem, and then i can either send or not the error report. and when i start it up normally, it goes to a blank screen. and then my computer goes into power save mode. anyone know whats up with it and how i can fix it.

Running Vista Ultimate 64-bit. Time displays in lower right corner, as desired. Is there a way to have the date displayed there too, along side the time?

there's a really old thread about this already. But it didn't solve my problem. When I boot vista, a little white square appears in the upper left corner. It's not my wallpaper. On the old thread they have resolved the problem as being an ATI GPU Driver problem, and the update fixed it. But here's my problem, I don't have an ATI GPU. When I right click the little white sqaure I can open up its properties, and in the properties it has a name of some website. Shortly after I even read it a "close program" window comes up. I click on close and the sqaure dissapears until the next time I boot. Leaving the white square on just messes with whatever programs Im running. For example: If im watching a movie in full-screen, it will randomly just exit out of full screen. It doesnt do that once the white sqaure is off.

I have a friend who attempts to send email containing pictures in the body of the message. But when I open the mail from here all I get is a blank outline with a red X in the upper left hand corner. Is this something setting in her system that causes this and if so how can it be changed?

I installed the windows mail tray icon. Is this considered logged into Windows Mail or will I have to click it each time to check mail? If it is not logged into Windows Mail, is there a program associated with Windows Mail that will let me know when I have email in Windows Mail without keeping Windows Mail open?

Problem Blue Screen. No new hardware or software installed recently, last Windows vista update was on 01/15. When I start first, PC passes user registration (boots fine) and
does the normal stuff like loading software and starting the wireless internet connection via Netgear, opening some windows/programms I will close. All normal, but than comes a Blue Screen and very fast shut down of system with restart. Hardly can read the message...Look like Blue Screen appears when to much action is going on like opening of IE and Outlook... or open to many windows... or some bad programm/hardware is booting. But when I restart, restart gives a different blue screens and trouble is much earlier or directly after registering to the system.
But all starting or booting turn slower, real slow now. Start in --safe mode with net working-- the PC works, but the PC can't handle heavy workloads, is really slow in action. I cannot open --My pictures-- to see all picture files displyed on screen (2.7 GB) (the process trying to access the files in safe mode is real slow) and when I attempt to transfer the file to a USB stick, the computer is stopping in middle of action (after 50% transfer)..........

Business with SP1
Sony laptop, fast core2duo, 4GB
Defender+Avast!
Working beautifully for many months, and then a few
weeks ago this began happening:
Perhaps 2-3 times a week, and with no consistency of circumstances, a blue screen will appear. It might happen while working or when returning from hibernate. There's a countdown as memory is stored, and then a freeze. The only way to recover is to do a hard OFF (5 seconds on the power switch) and restart. When it first happened, I had not installed or changed anything, so I was comfortable doing a restore. It happened again.
It's confusing because the stated cause is inconsistent. I've checked to ensure that all drivers are updated and nothing that's contraVistarian is installed. What analytical steps can I undertake to discover what's causing this, and then to help me make the necessary changes?

Recently I encountered more and more blue screens,
I do not remember exactly when it started, but I keep get blue screens.
I tried to format the computer after the problem began to worsen and it did not help.
I can say that I can know when is going to appear a blue screen, first of all
Internet disconnects and software not responding and then the blue screen appears and I need to do reset.
If you are interested the Minidump files, these are the files:

I just decided to dive into the Blue Ray world. I got a player for me sony bravia.So... I have a open slot for another optical drive on my desktop and was wondering if I can install a blue ray reader and writer instead of a dvdcd drive.I would like to backup some of the blue ray disc's that I have and perhaps watch the blue ray movies on my computing machine. I assume that the blue ray disc's content is much more dense then a dvd and stores much more data.I have DVD Fab 6. Can I get a blue ray drive to install on my desktop that will read and write? and does it depend on the system board as to what type I need to get?My alienware mobile desktop also has an available periphial for another drive and I would like to install one on the desktop and the laptop.
