I have a dell laptop and installed an islim 1300 webcam. In messenger live before i installed the camera i can have video conversation with my friends but with me only seeing them. Now i installed this camera i can still see them but when my camera wont show up and then freezes and crashes the computer.
View 5 RepliesI apologize in advance for my fevered nature I'm just a little bit frustrated over this. My boyfriend bought me a Microsoft LifeCam vx-5000 today. After the initial frustration of getting my webcam to actually broadcast video via the internet I became increasingly angry over the fact that everything, even the music player I was using on a different tab froze or lagged severely after only a few seconds of my broadcasting. People would freeze or there would be a lapse in messages and then the video would start up again and/or the messages would come in droves.
My Internet works fine and is quite fast when my webcam is not on. My computer, while about 4 years old works relatively quickly and I am able to use that quickly when the webcam is on. Also, this problem only happens when the webcam is being used with the internet and nothing freezes or slows when the webcam and the internet are not connected (just using the webcam program and not utilizing say chatroulette or tinychat.) Everyone I chat with says that they can see me clearly and I do not lag or freeze at all. Also, on my computer my webcam does not freeze or lag at all. I am incredibly frustrated because internet searches have proven to be useless because everyone complains about their webcam freezing when my problem is the complete opposite.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've an Asus f5sl laptop with Vista Home Premium (32bit) but it's been freezing on me lately. When I boot up, it gets to the black screen with the green bar but after a few seconds, the green bar freezes and I can't log in. Occasionally it boots up after around half an hour but then Vista periodically freezes for a few seconds before resuming (which is annoying when trying to write out something etc)
I don't see any problems in Safe Mode so is possibly a driver? I've updated all my drivers, completely updated using WIndows Update, ran antispyware, used System Restore etc. Only problem is; I've moved to a new country, and like a fool, I left my Vista start up disk back home. Which I would otherwise have tried.
Problem is i have all drivers working perfectly but it seems any program(Yahoo messenger / Windows Live Messneger etc) on my system does not dectect any webcams i install on it , tryed a Logitech QuickCam Fusion it installs without no errors but no program detects any of the webcams ... bouth webcams work perfect under win XP thow.
View 7 Replies View RelatedThere were some problems with drivers of a webcam I bought some weeks ago, but it wasn't serious, because I have the webcam of my lap. I don't know if this is related to using vista x64, but when I use Flip 3D, Live Messenger conversation windows don't appear in Flip, instead they appear in the background. I don't know if this is caused by using Vista x64, maybe it's a problem with Messenger.
This is my question: I'd like to try Vista Ultimate x86, and, as I have a machine with 2GB of RAM, could I experience any kind of troubles (in performance) using Vista x86 in my laptop? I'd like to know what kind of stuff I could lose because of moving from Vista x64 to Vista x86... maybe DEP? What else could I lose?
By the way, I use these programs frequently: VMware Workstation 6.5, Visual Studio 2008, MS Office 2007, SQL Server 2005... and other common programs (like WinZip, Adobe Reader, Live Messenger 9, etc). I don't use other programs (like Photoshop, intensive games or the like), and I have usually open, for example, VMware, WMP11 with Visual Studio at the same time.
I have bought a Logitech webcam from a relative. there was no cd or manual with it. I thought by just pluging in the webcam via usb port, it would work. When i logged onto msn and tried it out, there was nothing going through although it said it was connected.

I have a Sony Vaio Model (VGN-CR507E) and I have recently put on the Windows 7 Evaluation Copy, Build 7100. Everything seems to be in good order except for the Webcam. When I try to run msn, skype or any other webcam related programs it says that the webcam is in use by another program. When I go to my Device Manager It says that the USB Video Device is installed and fully updated.

When this first started happening I would shut down my laptop then it would work again, but still the problem persisted. Now my webcam does not work at all. I have a HP Pavilion dv5-1235dx entertainment laptop with windows vista home premium 64bit. I have McAfee antivirusus on my laptop and I've heard it doesn't allow you do view video or do video call on MSN. Well even when I try to open webcam thru HP MediaSmart Webcam it doesn't work. It doesn't work with QuickPlay either. I get the error messsage (No device detected. Please plug a device into your computer. If you are using an integrated camera please make sure its turned on.) No clue why this message is showing up. I have a built-in webcam on this laptop. I checked webcam under device manager which it is not there.No imaging devices are found at all. Under USB there is an unknown device that shows up everytime. I Delete it then check hardware changes and it shows up again. But it says there is no drivers installed for this device. So I'm not sure if this unknown device is the webcam. I've tried uninstalling webcam program/driver and installing it again and it doesn't work. My computer is up to date with all updates windows provide. My BIOs systems is also up to date.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've just bought a new ZT computer with Vista home premium 64bit o.s. I also bought a new webcam, the logitch pro-9000. Driver's installation went fine, but at the end I've got a message telling me that 'the required line was not found in the INF'. (see attached file for the whole message). I had the exact same issue with my old 'Epson' scanner which worked fine on my old computer with the XP pro. os. On the other hand, both my 'Canon' printers are working fine. All these devices are connected through USB2.
1. Is there an issue with the imaging devices?
2. Is there a known and easy cure? (I'm not a computer savvy).
3. Is it safe and/or will it help to download one of those 'drivers updater and fixer'?
I have a Compaq Presario F600 running Vista Home.Everthing else works fine except my webcam. I can see my cam on my screen, but not the the othe persons. I run the latest trend micro protection which I have tried turning off, but all I get is loading and then network connection error. I have read numerous other threads, although none have seemed to come to a final conclusion on this matter.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought a logitech webcam it had a built in mic and all that jazz, before I installed it I had a Sound Blaster XFi Xtreme Audio sound card in there, it worked fine no issues. When I hooked in and installed my logitech webcam my microphone no longer works on my headset I dunno if i disabled somethign or what I tried doing a system restore but to no avail.
View 8 Replies View Relatedi have bought a gateway M-1628 with a built in webcam and when i open camera assistant software program. it shows nothing the light for the webcam comes on like its on. but it shows no image at all. with the program i can record sound but no video. i uninstalled the driver and reinstalled it and still nothing. just wondering if there have been other problems. i have a Toshiba a while ago with the same program for the webcam just a little different and that one worked at first but just didn't work with messengers and later updated to work. but i can't find new updates of anything for the one i have now.

I just did an upgrade to Vista Home Prem 32-bit and somewhere along the way, my 'HP Webcam' software disappeared. This is the actual software which allows me to make a webcam video or a video for emailing. An (apparently) empty folder icon replaced the real webcam icon I had on my desktop. There is a real webcam icon on the task bar but it just displays a little menu (on/off/50 Hz/60 Hz/exit) and nothing happens there.

View 7 Replies View RelatedGot my motion eye working under Win7 64x. Link below for the drivers. I have the Vaio SZ650n/c, and all but a few keyboard hotkeys are working. The volume hotkeys work by default with win7. (maybe in hardware) Brightness is available by right-clicking the battery indicator (by clock) or by running "windows mobility center". For my SZ650, I had to install the SFEP and SPIC drivers to clear device manager. I could not find hot key drivers in 64x.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI shall start from the beginning of why i need someones key for a registry entry, i have a creative webcam that will not work with vista, so after using it with XP, i got sick of having it on my hard drive, so i bought a cheap camera so i can use webcam on vista, unfortunately, when i came to install it, the camera installed but kept getting a code 10 driver could not load. View 5 Replies View Relatedhave been experiencing frequent crashes, freezes, and BSOD lately and after some research decided the video card/driver might be a likely culprit. ran memtest just prior to see if RAM might be the issue; no errors. uninstalled video driver; and was prompted to restart to finalize removal of old driver. however, the system now freezes on startup at the welcome screen when starting normally or in safe mode.

View 9 Replies View RelatedAfter booting up the computer the desktop freezes immediately. If it doesn't freeze up immediately I'll have some functionality, but minimal. I'll no longer have access to the internet (no network adapter present), can't run programs (they fail to open) or can't install programs/updates. I have even gotten a couple of Blue screen error messages such as: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.
In safe mode with networking I do have access to the internet. When I try to download updates in safe mode I can't because Install shield will not work, or some other excuse. There are no restore points to restore to. There was a Windows Framework update on August 7th. I tried to uninstall it, but apparently it was never installed properly. No blue screens while in Safe Mode. I've been trying to problem solve this on my own, but with my limited computer repair skills I'm scared to try things.
