I can no longer print front to back, looks like I lost the driver that let me do that, the HP drivers and the default don't work. There is an option to print on both sides but nothing happens when I click it. Anyone know the fix?
I am trying to install this printer (HP Laserjet P2015d) on my Vista 64 machine. It works fine on my XP Pro machine. HP has posted drivers for this OS/printer configuration (HP LaserJet P2015 Printer series*-* Download drivers and software - HP Business Support Center).
However, the installation programs does not work. The installation program does not seem to recognize the printer even when the printer is connected and turned on. Ironically the device (occasionally) shows up on the Vista Device manager panel, but not on the printer panel. The installation instruction mentions that the new hardware wizard should pop up on connecting, but it does not.
I contacted HP support (a nightmarish labyrinth of automated messages). After negotiating through this maize for more than 15 minutes, I finally reach a human. Guess what? They want money to fix their own problem! It is hardly a year old.
I have a dell laptop and installed an islim 1300 webcam. In messenger live before i installed the camera i can have video conversation with my friends but with me only seeing them. Now i installed this camera i can still see them but when my camera wont show up and then freezes and crashes the computer.
I downloaded it, but now can't figure out why I stay alll night long trying to find my essay i wrote yesterday, is all filled with random hexadecimals and Email says I need a critical patch in order to undelete 1300+ message that I had until yesterday, hello? And why wired LAN is defeated???? I hate wireless, it increases brain csancer risk & headaches, but wired is dead, why?
I use a HP LaserJet 1012 printer with two WinXP/2 PCs on a wireless network. I also have a Vista laptop but Vista and the HP 1012 are not compatible. Are there any signs that HP or MS will address this compatibility problem any time soon? Is there a workaround?
I have troubles getting my laserjet 1018 to work with my Vista Home laptop. The printer is set up to my desktop computer wich runs Vista Ultimate and i have shared it in the network. Everything works alright until I adds the printer on my laptop. After that I can't print from any of the computers and the printer que just fills up and i can't empty it. If i reinstall the printer drivers on the desktop computer its start working there again but I cant get it to work propely when i have installed it on the laptop.
I have a Toshiba laptop running Vista home basic. I use an HP laserjet 1100 parallel printer which I plug (via a USB-to-parallel converter cable) into a USB hub which feeds into one of the USB ports on my laptop. Very often, when I try to print (Word document, web page, pdf file, anything) nothing happens until I remove the converter cable from the USB hub and then reconnect it. After I have done this, the printer will then work fine from then on, but will then stop working whenever I reboot the computer. If, when I reach the point at which "nothing happens", I remove and rejoin the converter cable from the printer cable, or remove and rejoin the printer cable from the printer, that doesn't solve the problem. And if I have an extension USB cable joining the USB hub to the converter cable, and remove and rejoin the converter cable from the extension cable, that doesn't solve the problem either. The only thing which works is removing the cable from the USB hub and then reinserting it, and this usually works every time. It's not a big problem, but it's irritating to have to scrabble around about the cables. how I might be able to get my printer to start each time without having to fiddle about with the leads?
If Vista no longer or hasn't been able to install your trusty Laser Jet 1000 printer driver, then you are not alone. The solution is to connect a slower 1.0 USB Hub in between the LaserJet 1000 and Vista. For my particular resolution a Belkin F5U021 USB Hub was the key to success. Once the hub was connected, Vista expeditiously recognized and automatically installed the HP Laser Jet 1000 driver, created for WinXP.....
Setup Vista Ultimate x64. I have the following printer HP color laserjet 2605dn and it won't let me print in duplex mode looked on Hp web site for installation drivers and found nothing, then I found this file EZInstall, but It can't find my printer on the network.
I'm trying to install an Hp LaserJet printer, simple task... but then, after a couple of "next's" in the installation, a message pops up saying i have no administrator privileges... ok, after reading about the famous UAC, it still wont install after disableing it... I also tred moving some of the options on the administrative tools - local security settings... but thre's no way. I have reinstalled Vista a couple of times just in case and still nothing. I'm Runing Windows Vista Ultimate, tried with and with out SP1.
I changed laptops in a docking station and used a drivers CD to install the printer which was attached. Test pages and anything else I try to print goes into the print queue but never prints, finally showing an error. I downloaded the latest drivers from HP and installed them, but this hasn't fixed the problem. The original laptop still prints fine from that docking station. The old laptop was WinXP, this one is Vista. I ran the "FixIt" diagnostics but it said all problems were fixed, and it still won't print.
I now have Vista Home Premium 64bit. My HP Laserjet 1022 prints just fine... BUT it won't let me position the image on the page the way I want it to. Sometimes I have a 16x22-inch image that I need to print full-size--what I've always done in the past (when I had Windows XP) is print it in four different sections. When I would start to print, it would automatically show me how the image was positioned on the page and I could move it around to get it in the right position to print one-quarter at a time. Now it does not give me that option.
I have Vista 64 Ultimate & Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe board.I have tring to hook up a HP 4000n printer with a parallel port. It just won't work. I have tried everything including downloading 64 bit drivers, changing the parallel port settings in the bios, etc. I suspect it has something to do with the port because the printer does not respond at all to anything I do.
I have been wracking my brain for weeks now, trying to play C&C First Decade with Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge over the LAN, it will only run on IPX networking which I could setup with 2x XP machines, I have Vista Ultimate on my PC, and XP on another, I found some drivers for IPX to work on Vista, didn't work ... So I loaded Hamachi which had built-in IPX support. Now when I open RA2, it no longer says IPX unavailable, it shows 00 00 00...
So it can see my Hamachi adapter with IPX support, great! The other XP machine has Hamachi installed, and they are both VPN'd (Connected) on the same Hamachi Network. They don't see each other... The XP machine shows a few IPX networks, I have tried switching to them all, even put the Hamachi adapter and the LAN adapter to the top of the preferred networks list. This was sort-of a breeze with both XP, but with Vista it's looking to be a bit tricky. I have no firewalls running on either machine and I am pretty cluey when it comes to networking (TCP/IP that is).
Ive just bought some new headphones yet when i plug them in the sound still comes out of the speakers. I know the headphones do work because i use them with my mp3 player
I have had Windows Vista 64 for 2 Months now and of that period of time it worked soundly for about 2 Weeks. I am NOT an irresponsible User, I don't just delete Data, I know a little something about computing, I don't visit or download from dubious sites etc.
1) Without any reason software suddently doesn't work. a) I installed a Antivirussoftware - after 3 Weeks it suddently didn't work any more (Kaspersky) I couldn't reinstall it. b) I installed a new Antivirussoftware - after 5 days it didn't work anymore. c) 4 days later I started to get errormessages "Windows Defender doesn't work any more" - "Windows Hostprocess doesn't work anymore"
Later on, my Memory RAM Score was like 5,9 on RAM and now it is 4,8 after i formatted my computer. I`m sometimes experiencing some slowdowns, like i type a entire word, and after 3 seconds it shows up. Or i scroll down, and after like 4 , 5 seconds the page shows up.
OBS: The Paging file is managed by the System ( I Used to let it on 4 mb )
-And can someone give me that topic that Brink made to tweak performance? That All-In-One Tutorial topic.
-And how do i tweak my Memory RAM, Processor and HD to hit its best performance?
I recently posted a problem. I was told that I would need a new hard drive, but I still have issues. When I try to install vista "windows can not reinstalize the deployment engine" error. I decided to try linux and that also does not work.
i plugged a usb flash drive into my front usb. (now does not work on any pc) when i plugged it in first time a message came up saying error could not read what was inserted etc. My front USB's appear to know something is going in sometimes and then other times don't. it read a webcam being connected. but when i tried an external hard drive i got a similar problem as with my usb flash drive. luckily that still works on my old pc though. back usb ports seem to be doing similar weird behaviour. P.S mouse and keyboard both work fine.
i,just ordered a new dell machine. it comes w/vista 64 bit home pre.. i did not realize this was a "JUMP" of a bridge. so i've been doing research, after the fact, and i find, prayer is in order..i have found that a piece of software i use for school doesn't "like" 64 bit and i'm sure with a little more research i'll find other issues...so i made a plan..but i don't know if it will work or how to do it.. 1. can i repartition my new 500 gig hd and load both 32 & 64 bit on it? i've read a little on other forums(it sounds like the answer) but i wanted to hear it from ppl that know.
I have DVD Shrink installed on XP. It works fine, but when I installed it on Vista, it wouldn't work; it would come up with an error when it started burnung the DVD.. It still comes up with an error when I use backwards compatibility.
I have a Web Cam built into my HP laptop. I've tried windows movie maker and Adobe video software, but I can't figure out how to turn it on and get started recording.
I'm running windows Vista Ultimate, I'm connected to a domain network and internet via the same Ethernet interface with a static IP. I want to share this Internet connection to an Ad Hoc network through a WLAN interface. In this article it's said that we should not use Internet Connection Sharing in an existing network with Domain Name System (DNS) servers, gateways, DHCP servers, or systems configured for static IP addresses. And this explains why ICS does not work for me although the error returned is not clear. What can I do in my case to share my Internet connection ?
Ever since I burned a movie to a dvd my dvd/cd drive will not allow me to watch a movie or listen to a music cd. When I insert a movie dvd my computer does not recogonize it. I go under my computer to my dvd drive and try to open it and it ejects the disk and says please insert a disk. If I insert a blank dvd +rw it recogonizes it. It is like my computer dvd/cd drive is in a permanent burn mode, not a read mode.
I recently upgraded to Vista and do now experience that a VPN connection which worked fine under XP now does not work any more. Under XP the authentication has the value 'MS CHAP'. So I suppose that my VPN ist not working under Vista as MS has decided to not include MS CHAP v1 any more. However I need this VPN connection and the provider is not able to change the authentication method. Is there any way to bring vista to use MS CHAP v1? Or can somebody please reccommend a third-party VPN-Client which supports MS CHAP v1? Or is the final solution really to reinstall XP?
I've updated my G-Card to a HD2900 Pro with 512mb and DDR3 mem- and when I try to play C&C 3 Tiberium Wars, I get an DX9 error and the game doesn't start.
Im considering buying a second gtx 280 to run in sli mode but im unsure how big of a performance hit ill get with my current mobo (MSI P7N SLI-FI 750i). MSI Computer Corp. - Product The board supports one PCIE 2.0 X16 mode, and supports 8X+8X in SLI mode. I was wondering how the two cards would compare in two sli x8 vs one in x16. Ive looked on the net and cant really find a sure answer on this. Could use some help determining if its worth purchasing a second card or not considering the performance hit if there is one......
