Norton Uninstall "a Fatal Windows Error Has Occured"
Mar 10, 2008I have tried Uninstalling it via add/remove programs. It says it was completely removed. I then tried to install Trend Micro, however when that runs we get an error message that says "a fatal windows error has occured please restart your computer and try again"
Then from searching thru this forum I found out about the Norton Removal tool. We downloaded and ran that and it found other things to remove. Once it was completed we tried to install Trend Micro again but still get the same error message. At this time we are running a full system restore to bring the Laptop back to out of the box condition. Has anyone had this happen before, and are there any steps I am missing?
Why Uninstall Nero Before Upgrading To Vista?
Jan 29, 2007The Vista Upgrade Advisor tells me that I will have to uninstall Nero before upgrading to Vista. I have seen some posts in which writers complained that they were unable to re-install Nero after the installation. I thought that Vista has a built-in CD/DVD burner.

Dec 8, 2008I keep getting the error of c00021a fatal system error. which cause me to shut the comptuer down for 5-10 minutes then insert my vista install disk and run the repair and restart causing me 20-30 minutes of down time. The error seems to trigger at high memory usage usually when I play games like CS:s and it makes the game ice up and not load after 10-20 minutes.
A) Will a reimage completely cleaning off the hard drive solve this
B) If so how do I do it from a vista upgrade disk
C) Should I just get a new system (AMD 939 3800+ 2gb ddr400) that is a e8400 or q6600 system for a few hundred?
D) Alternative solutions
The system runs fine when i'm just internet surfing/iming etc but as soon as I load a game it goes crazy and its not just CS:s any game or high memory usage (photoshop) just trashes the system.

I was having problems installing a program (Berlitz German Premier) where the install would just disappear halfway thru the process. A program would not appear under my programs list but when I went to Uninstall an icon for uninstall of the Berlitz software appears for each time I tried to install it. However I get the following error messages (see attached document with screen captures) when I tried to delete it the traditional way.
When I use Windows Install Clean Up utility, the program is nowhere to be found on the list; thus I can't use that program.

Oct 17, 2009I have always been able to burn CDs without a problem. It had been a while but a few days ago i had tried to burn a CD with windows media player using MP3s from my hard drive. first the error with windows media player is that it begins to write all songs without analysing which it used to do, the burn rate literally increases every second however before ti used to take some time and stay a couple of seconds in each percentage. in the end all songs will fail to burn as soon as one or two fail all the others do at once. the red x error only says check the drive is connected and to check the cd is not damaged. non of theres erros could be so as i have used two different batches of CDs and the drive reads CDs and can clone CDs with nero still.
when trying to burn with nero the only error which comes up states that the burn failed. the log is very lengthy however. if i go to device manager the drivers are upto date. this is a very strange problem as nero is able to copy original CDs but however no files from hard drive can be written to a CD as an audio CD for some reason.

I've had the same Nero 7 now on 3 different computers. I got it FREE Nero 7 Premium a while back. (I don't remember why) but it is NOT illegal, it is not hacked with a keygen or something like that, that a free AV program would find as a false positive. It's just a normal Nero 7 Premium.
I've ran the same NOD32 on this computer for over a year now, with the same Nero 7 and never had a problem. but this morning I woke up to an Error, and a Virus Warning. Threat Detected in my Nero folders. something about cad/0060H795.cad or something like that.
It gave me the option to clean, and or delete. I cleaned it. But this is the first attack my current BIG RIG has ever had. So I just want to look into it to be safe.

Jun 29, 2008I'm running Microsoft Office Word. Every time I get out of the program a screen comes up saying "this program has a fatal flaw" or something like that. Then another screen comes up saying "Windows cannot find this file and is closing." Does anyone else have this problem with Vista and Word?
