I try to burn using the newest nero or with vista's built in buring program i get an error. here is a log from nero:

When i start to burn dvd it got stuck on 1% and says power calibration error i can burn cds but not dvds before vista i got xp and worked fine but now cant burn dvds.

It had been a while but a few days ago i had tried to burn a CD with windows media player using MP3s from my hard drive. first the error with windows media player is that it begins to write all songs without analysing which it used to do, the burn rate literally increases every second however before ti used to take some time and stay a couple of seconds in each percentage. in the end all songs will fail to burn as soon as one or two fail all the others do at once. the red x error only says check the drive is connected and to check the cd is not damaged. non of theres erros could be so as i have used two different batches of CDs and the drive reads CDs and can clone CDs with nero still.
when trying to burn with nero the only error which comes up states that the burn failed. the log is very lengthy however. if i go to device manager the drivers are upto date. this is a very strange problem as nero is able to copy original CDs but however no files from hard drive can be written to a CD as an audio CD for some reason.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a new laptop with Vista Home Premium 32bit and everything on it works fine. Or well, not everything lol. I can't seem to get any burning software to work :s I tried installing Nero, but it gave me a message that "another program has just been updated, so you need to restart" (or something like that). I restart and it says it again. I tried installing CDBurnerXP and it installed fine, but when I start the program, nothing happens. Program don't open or anything. I then tried installing Starburn and it also installed just fine, but when I click on Data Burning Wizard, it shows up that it's trying to find CD/DVD burners, and it keeps searching forever (or well, I waited 30 minutes and then manually shutdown the program).

View 8 Replies View Relatedi shall start from the beginning, went to clean my pc out, as normal, took out my dvi-i adapter, left it on the side.... my boy got hold of it (bless him), couple of pins missing, so i brought a new one off ebay for very cheap talking less than 2 quid (i know !), so while i wait i take out my 7900 GS to clean its fan as its not accessible while in tower.... so the new dvi-i comes , i put card back in, start up and looks ok till i get "mode not supported" on my lcd.. tried few times, no joy.
so card comes out, put vga into onboard, works fine, so monitor seems good. deleted nvidia drivers, switched off put card in, adapter, cables, start up then card installs itself, restart , all good so far, apart from old drivers and crap resolution.. i noticed in my device manager there was no "Monitor Tab", after a brief search, i updated and i now have a Monitor tab and have "Generic PnP monitor" in the section.
Then i update to newest drivers, after i restart i get the message "Mode Not Supported" with H 75.0 hz / V 60.0 hz under it. i tried this with several drivers back to july 2008, still no luck, and tried all resolutions also tried it with my old crt monitor and i get a "frequency" message. so could this be the cheap ass adapter? , my card ?, bit to hard a clean and broke it?

So I decided to make an account and ask for help. When I try to install Atlas V14 (A program for translations) it comes up with Error 1935 and does a roleback, so i decided to try installing it on my laptop then copied files to PC and it comes up with a side-by-side error.. I have to use right click + Run as Administrator to use any of my programs. I have done some forum surfing and tried several recommended techniques for correcting this problem but to no avail. I downloaded the exefix_vista reg file but the very same problem prevents me from merging it (I even tried fixing the reg extension but that failed aswell). I have run the sfc/scannow in command propmt but that came up empty. I would have fresh installed but I am away from home and do not have the means to reinstall vista. I apologize if this post seems in any way redundant but my forum searches have failed me. HELP! PLEASE!

I have created a movie using Windows Movie Maker. I am trying to burn this movie using Nero 6, so I can play the movie on a DVD player. I have tried various attempts and not getting anywhere. Need quick steps what I need to do to get the file to play on a DVD disk? In Nero, I am selecting Make Video CD option. I then Add the WMV File, which it analyzes and I select the DVD/RW...option (not Image Recorder). It then begins encoding but it then spits the DVD/RW disk out saying the compilation cannot be written to this type of disk.

I've had the same Nero 7 now on 3 different computers. I got it FREE Nero 7 Premium a while back. (I don't remember why) but it is NOT illegal, it is not hacked with a keygen or something like that, that a free AV program would find as a false positive. It's just a normal Nero 7 Premium.
I've ran the same NOD32 on this computer for over a year now, with the same Nero 7 and never had a problem. but this morning I woke up to an Error, and a Virus Warning. Threat Detected in my Nero folders. something about cad/0060H795.cad or something like that.
It gave me the option to clean, and or delete. I cleaned it. But this is the first attack my current BIG RIG has ever had. So I just want to look into it to be safe.

Installed above today and got 2 errors, firstly StartSmart doesnt open at all, get the Nero Ring, but nothing opens. Also Vision returns this error "Unable to initialize the Nero API" It worked fine on my XP, tried the CleanUpTool, complete uninstall and fresh re-install, still the same, are there compatability issues with Vista?
