How Should Install Nero 8 Ultra Edition
Mar 1, 2010I've read a lot about problems installing Nero 8 in Windows Vista. I've recently purchased this software and would like to be certain that it will install with no problems. Some people say to disable User Account Control before installing it, as well as disabling the firewall and Windows Defender. Can anyone tell me what should be done before running the installation of Nero?

Mar 26, 2008I am trying to uninstall nero 7, so I can puy nero 8 on. The installer keep crashing and won't let me uninstall 7. If i try installing nero 8, it gets to the part where it tells me it has to uninstall 7 first and then stops. If I go through the uninstall programe it is gathering information and then tells me the uninstall has stopped working and is sending a report.

Mar 21, 2007Apparently Stalker doesn't like Nvidia's 100 series drivers so if you install Stalker you will need to roll back to or reinstall the 97.46 drivers. I can not verify this as yet but I will as soon as I get my copy (should arrive in the morning).

64bit Install But Not Working Properly
Aug 23, 2009I had a Vista 32bit, and made the choice I wanted to goto 64bit. I got a new motherboard an Intel DP45SG running a quad core, i think 9550, but I dont have the exact specs in front of me. Then i am running four ddr3 corsair ram chips 1gb. I have two wd drives, don't rember the models off hand either. I have replaced the cables to the drives, ran just the drive by itself. I had a Nvidia Gefore 9600gt, but I replaced it with a ATI 4850 1gb ddr2 card. I am having the system take forever to run applications and do file copies. I opened up outlook 2007 and it took literally 15mins for it to open the mail box. Itunes takes about 20mins to open up. I can barely even use world of warcraft online half the time. I tried to copy files from the old hard drive to the new hard drive, they copied at 12kb/sec. Intel had a bios upgrade and I did that, I downloaded every driver possible. I turned off Index searching, Im to the point of going, is it the proc, memory, hard drives or all three. or heck the psu. Im totally lost as to what needs to be done to get this thing working. From what I can tell its only the file copies and the 32bit applications. Also, current windows updates, at SP2 atm.

Aug 27, 2008I have an NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT video card installed on my new HP Pavillion dv7 1034ca laptop. It came with Vista Home Premium. So the first thing I did was intall Vista Ultimate. When I did that, the resolution was reset to 800x600. I reinstalled all the drivers, including the one for the NVIDIA card. When I went to change the resolution, I noticed that the highest I could go was 1440x900. Which is ok but I remember being able to go to a higher resolution when I had Vista Home Premium installed. The reason why I remember is because my icons are a bit larger now than they were before. What's bad is that 1440x900 is the highest I can go. What happened to my higher resolution?

When I restart the computer I get the message downloads did not configure properly windows is reconfiguring. I can alway download and install optional updates but anything that is important will not install. I get a variety of error codes. Has anyone had problems with windows update on vista?

Dec 13, 2009I just acquired what seems to be a really old PCIe ATI card that I can't seem to install correctly. I went to the ATI support site and the drivers for the card just don't seem to work. Is there a specific order to follow when installing a GPU -- sorry, its been a while. It doesn't go into a PCI slot but its the bigger one, looks like a big ole' AGP card but it has a sticker right on the card that says PCIe. I can only find the drivers for a Radeon HD2600XT and I'm not sure if those are the correct drivers or not. When I first installed it everything went well and it installed correctly but the XP hardware wizard wasn't satisfied. So it doesn't fully install -- note, I do not have the original discs -- but just need the most up to date drivers.

Nero VCD Burning, Not Getting
Mar 23, 2008I have created a movie using Windows Movie Maker. I am trying to burn this movie using Nero 6, so I can play the movie on a DVD player. I have tried various attempts and not getting anywhere. Need quick steps what I need to do to get the file to play on a DVD disk? In Nero, I am selecting Make Video CD option. I then Add the WMV File, which it analyzes and I select the DVD/RW...option (not Image Recorder). It then begins encoding but it then spits the DVD/RW disk out saying the compilation cannot be written to this type of disk.

Oct 17, 2009I have always been able to burn CDs without a problem. It had been a while but a few days ago i had tried to burn a CD with windows media player using MP3s from my hard drive. first the error with windows media player is that it begins to write all songs without analysing which it used to do, the burn rate literally increases every second however before ti used to take some time and stay a couple of seconds in each percentage. in the end all songs will fail to burn as soon as one or two fail all the others do at once. the red x error only says check the drive is connected and to check the cd is not damaged. non of theres erros could be so as i have used two different batches of CDs and the drive reads CDs and can clone CDs with nero still.
when trying to burn with nero the only error which comes up states that the burn failed. the log is very lengthy however. if i go to device manager the drivers are upto date. this is a very strange problem as nero is able to copy original CDs but however no files from hard drive can be written to a CD as an audio CD for some reason.

I've had the same Nero 7 now on 3 different computers. I got it FREE Nero 7 Premium a while back. (I don't remember why) but it is NOT illegal, it is not hacked with a keygen or something like that, that a free AV program would find as a false positive. It's just a normal Nero 7 Premium.
I've ran the same NOD32 on this computer for over a year now, with the same Nero 7 and never had a problem. but this morning I woke up to an Error, and a Virus Warning. Threat Detected in my Nero folders. something about cad/0060H795.cad or something like that.
It gave me the option to clean, and or delete. I cleaned it. But this is the first attack my current BIG RIG has ever had. So I just want to look into it to be safe.

Mar 26, 2008I have a new motherboard (abit nh-m2sv), X2 +3800 processor, 2 gig pc4200 memory ATI graphics, DVD RW, Maxtor SATA drive, all are suppose to be Vista ready, but vista either won't install, or installs with BSOD's then will only run in Safe Mode. I have tried Home Basic and premium, the same issue, I install my old faitful XP and it goes straight in. I have run memtest, all fine, I have removed the gfx card, no change, I have tried an IDE hdd rather than a SATA no change.

Jul 21, 2009For the last few days or so I have been having problems with Vista Home Premuim 64bit not shutting down properly or looging off. I click on shut down and then the computer will just hang for a about 5mins and then decide to shut off sometimes or if it does not then the only way I can get it to turn off is by holding the power button in, which I dont really like doing. I have closed all programmes down by the clock on the task bar and the problem is still the same. Do you recommend trying a clean boot? I really want to try and find out where this problem lies as I don't really want to go through another reinstall of Vista.

Jun 2, 2009all started after an update for MS office + gfx driver and then all the problems began, mainly my PC won't start up properly, no signal to any of my monitors, my mouse and keyboard don't work, blue and green lights on my tower running constantly and fans on full. The only way I can get it to boot up properly is to do a hard re-boot(I have to leave it unplugged for at least an hour to do this) and has been like this for almost a fortnight now, I have already tried
1). restoring it to before the update.
2). CHKDSK.
3). repair with installation disk.
4). changing power options.
5). un-installed Microsoft Office.
6).updated to most recent nvidia graphics card drivers.
Can't think of what else at the moment but have been going through the forum and google to no avail.
