I just tried to fresh install Vista on a BRAND NEW hard drive and this is what i get........BSOD: Stop: c000021a [Fatal Error]...i tried an install before this got an error message and rebooted. FRESH HARD DRIVE. What is wrong? Anyone know? Note: Just got a Stop: 0x00000050 error =(...i'm really starting to hate vista and all it stands for. Non-stop problems!

View 4 Replies View RelatedI keep getting the error of c00021a fatal system error. which cause me to shut the comptuer down for 5-10 minutes then insert my vista install disk and run the repair and restart causing me 20-30 minutes of down time. The error seems to trigger at high memory usage usually when I play games like CS:s and it makes the game ice up and not load after 10-20 minutes.
A) Will a reimage completely cleaning off the hard drive solve this
B) If so how do I do it from a vista upgrade disk
C) Should I just get a new system (AMD 939 3800+ 2gb ddr400) that is a e8400 or q6600 system for a few hundred?
D) Alternative solutions
The system runs fine when i'm just internet surfing/iming etc but as soon as I load a game it goes crazy and its not just CS:s any game or high memory usage (photoshop) just trashes the system.
I have installed Vista x32 with SP2 Ultimate. When I installed anti-virus, BSOD came. Same AV version haven't problem with Vista SP1, what is updated to SP2. Then I try to install Vista with SP2 to hyper-v server, but installation stops immediately error screen (STOP: 0x0..8E). Is n_windows_vista_ultimate_sp2_checked_build_x86_dvd_342432.iso packet ok ?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have tried Uninstalling it via add/remove programs. It says it was completely removed. I then tried to install Trend Micro, however when that runs we get an error message that says "a fatal windows error has occured please restart your computer and try again"
Then from searching thru this forum I found out about the Norton Removal tool. We downloaded and ran that and it found other things to remove. Once it was completed we tried to install Trend Micro again but still get the same error message. At this time we are running a full system restore to bring the Laptop back to out of the box condition. Has anyone had this happen before, and are there any steps I am missing?

I searched it on google and to avail a few people fixed it by over-clocking, I'm not sure if they over-clock their memory or CPU though, also I don't like over-clock, anyone wanna help me figure this out? it's reading 1.27 right now which seems high concidering people with the Q6600 have around 1.27 X_X. Also what settings in the BIOS goes with RAM and CPU over-clocking? like I said though XP runs fine, Vista does do this.

I received an error: Error details: Code 57A. I tried multiple times to install, all with the same error. I did try downloading the update to my desktop, and install with the option "run as administrator...no luck. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium.

View 9 Replies View RelatedA friend's computer. She hasn't used it in the six months since I helped her buy it, so it hasn't been online. Before I go online to download updates like SP1, I want to install a firewall. I've downloaded Comodo's latest free firewall for Win32 as well as various freeware antivirus and antispyware software. The problem is trying to install ANY of these programmes.
When I double-click the installation file a window pops up telling me that the installation programme has stopped working. I've disabled Windows worthless firewall, but that doesn't solve the problem. how I can install security software on this computer. I use WXPpro, so I don't have these problems on my PC.
I've tried numerous times to Install Vista Sp1, but without success. The install appers to go well, reaching 100% at stage 3, but then the screen reports the SP did not successfully install, and proceeds to roll back. On Checking the message in Windows Update, the install failed with error 80004005. I've raised the issue directly with MS, but the advice to install the SP in Safe mode has not helped. I've also trawled various forums and cannot find any reference to the specific error code.
I own a Sony Vaio VGN-FZ1. A number of forums seem to suggest it might be a hardware issue, and I have tried disabling / uninstalling various devices to
see if this helps, but this also has not got me any further. Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone know what this error code means? Is there a way to force the SP to install despite this error code (it does get to 100% at stage 3 after all, so maybe it does install, but one of the packages check routines is picking up an error which doesn't really exist???)
I try to install any downloaded software, for example Winamp, Firefox, etc, it does not work. I will get a popup that says "(program name) has stopped working. A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
It has done this with every file I've downloaded and tried to install. Also, some MSI files I've downloaded (turbotax update, etc.) do nothing after I try to run them. I've verified that the software is compatible with Vista (per the places I've downloaded them from), turned off UAC, disabled Windows Firewall and Defender, Run as Admin, and even tried in Safe Mode. Also, I've run Windows Update and it says there are no available updates.
Yesterday i got a PCI slot cooler for my video card and i over clocked it some. About 100-125 more on each stat. This is my grapics card i had it running at like 40C MSI USA – Computer, Laptop, Notebook, Desktop, Mainboard, Graphics and more. Last i took out my video card and went to the on board video and tried that and yet it did not work ether. I tried reformatting thinking it was drivers or something didn't work ether. every time i try installing the OS i get General causes of "STOP 0x0000007F" errors Divide by zero error A divide by zero is caused when a DIV instruction is executed and the divisor is 0. The files in question are windirlogcbscbs.log and it shows cbs package serving failure and windows wcp store corruption.

However, when I'm trying to Install it, as soon as I enter the product key during the instalation process, I keep getting these error messages sayin: "Install Windows: setup.exe - Bad Image C:$WINDOWS.~BTSourcespidgenx.dll is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support."
And then once I click OK, it says under the product key "Windows installation has encountered an error and needs to be restarted." I tried restarting the upgrade, and then the computer and the problem still exists. Do anybody have any suggestions to fix this? And what do they mean by "Try installing the program again using the original installation media"?

I rebooted and hit F10 to set up and found that the storage drive is no# 1 and my main drive is no#3. How do I get the storage drive to be after my main drive. So it will boot up from it. My main drive is a SATA. I have a Parserio Compaq SR5601p with Vista. The new drive I am trying to Install as storage is a Western Digital EIDE160GB WDCaviar@SE-7200RPM

It downloaded and got half way through installation and it said there was an error. Unfortunately I didnt write down the error code. Why wont it install? Does anyone know? When trying to launch the game i get this error message: This application has failed to start because D3DX9_32.DLL was not found. Re-installing the applicatio n may fix the problem. I have tried re-installing with no luck.
Microsoft then tells me that the problem is with directx 9 and gives me a link to update the end user run-time installer. Which sounds like a perfect and easy fix.Turns out that no matter what version or update i try to install I am screwed. I get this error message upon the initializing phase of the install: An internal system error occured: Please refer to the dx.error log or the Dx.log in your windows folder.
As i said it does not matter what version of directx i try to update i get the same message. Can I not play Civ 4 on vista? I have heard maybe the compatibility mode might fix but I am unsure how exactly to do that right. I have tried a few times...Also spent hours on the phone with game support

When I try to run a game, using 'steam' it tries to install directx before failing, so I found the download myself and tried, it failed. The error said: 'INTERNAL SYSTEM ERROR OCCURRED refer to DxError.log and DirectX.log in your windows folder to determine problem.' So what any ideas, I need directx but I cant have directx. Wasnt sure if this post should go in here, gaming or graphics card. I figured here as its more a software issue.
