View 4 RepliesWhen I try to reply, reply all or forward an email either in preview or from an open email nothing happens. Message at the top (Not responding). It seems like the program freezes or there is a very long delay for the reply or forwarded email to appear. If and when it does appear, the email is blank with no text, it is still waiting for the info to load whether there is an attachment or not. When I try to x out, a new window opens giving me the option to restart the program, close or wait for windows mail to respond.

I am not able to compose a new mail nor reply to any of the emails. as soon as i hit the reply or reply all button, the window opens up and the MS Vista windows gets busy forever, unless u click close and kill the process.
When I use the Reply function in Windows Mail it chooses to place an email address that is not my default address in the From box at the top. This is a problem because now people have a more private email address that I kept for specific use.

View 7 Replies View RelatedIm having some problems with my personal folder. When i go to it all the thumbnails have no information under them: when I go to a folder at a different location it has the information under each large thumbnail: When I go and access my personal folder the "long way" by going to COMPUTER>C DRIVE>USERS>ELENA I can see the information. I have no idea why this happened. I remember I was cutting and pasting things to that folder, but I must have pressed something on my keyboard by accident and the mouse was stuck on select. Then I restarted and this happened. How can I get the text under the large thumbnails to appear again? Going to "View" doesnt work by the way.

People say auto replies cannot be set up in Windows Mail... but they can... When using Outlook Express I set up an auto reply while i was on vacation and could never turn it off... it has nothing to do with message rules, because I deleted all rules... when i migrated to Windows Mail in Vista... the auto reply still happens... i can't find a way to turn it off...

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm running Vista and using Windows Mail. I can recieve emails no problem and when I reply to an email it gets the recipient fine. However, if I create a new email and send it goes out of my outbox but the receipient never recieves it. I have spoken to LCN who host my email and they have run tests to hotmail, gmail and business accounts. They say the email get through to the recipient server fine but they cannot track them from there. Trying this myself I can confirm that there are not getting through to regular contacts inboxes at business and webmail accounts and they are not even going to junk mail.
They said to try changing the outgoing to my ISP SMTP details which I did but still no joy. They and my ISP have both said this is all they can do. I've turned off my anti-virus can for outgoing mails as well but still have the problem. Everything was working fine till a few days ago. When I called LCN they said my nameserver needed updating, which they did, and that it would take 24 hrs for the DNS propagation. It's now been 3 days and still the same problem. Email host and ISP say they can't help. I've checked and I'm not on a blacklist.
About a month ago, Windows mail started dropping the 1st 2 letters of the reply-to email address for all of my Yahoo contacts I deleted the contacts from my list and reentered them it still does it. I can send a new email to these people just fine but cannot use the "reply to" feature.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen reading an email using Windows Mail,if the text in the body of that email contains an email address,is it possible to double click on that address and have Windows Mail open automatically with a blank reply page?
This operation used to work OK with XP & OE however using Vista & Windows Mail it only pops up a message stating that the program is not associated. Clicking on an email address in a web page using IE8 works fine, it opens up a Windows Mail reply page.
I seem to have an intermittent problem where colleagues attempt to reply to my email but it won't send from their end (no error message). But it only occurs intermittently (at times using the reply tool does work) and has happened from 3 or 4 colleagues who work in different organisations.

View 9 Replies View RelatedUsing Windows Mail. I have a number of laptops that have two email accounts set up on them, the default one is for the office, using one ISP for the outbound
messages, and the second account, which uses a different ISP for the outbound messages. Both accounts have the same details for their inbound. I have managed to set the default account to the office one, which when creating new messages works fine. The problem starts on the Reply to a message...this always defaults to the second account. All I can see that may be doing this is that in the list of accounts, the second account was created first, even though it is not set at the
default. I don't want to delete the account and then recreate it, making it the
second on the list, as when the laptops are taken out of the office then the other email account will be set as the default one.
Had set up an out of office message in Windows Mail by means of Message Rules. Currently, there are no Rules anymore visible to remove, though the auto reply messages are continuing. Would be grateful for avise how to disable auto reply.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI tried going to 64bit a little over a week ago, and it was unstable, crashing and all kinds of things. So I went back to 32bit on Sunday evening. The problem I'm having is that half the time my websites will load. Like when I click on Firefox, it's waiting on a reply in the bottom left corner and doesn't do anything. Nothing happens at all. Same with IE7. What I don't get is why, when I rebooted my computer just now, it popped right up no problem, but most of the time it stops in mid process like it forgot where it was going. I know my system is caching and all that again, but the net is still not working correctly. I've released and renewed ip, I've uninstalled and reinstalled and all kinds of things, but it's still doing it more often than not.

However, I always reply on top of a message so that the person who receives my reply doesn't need to scroll down to read the (latest) reply. Now, I have to move the signature from the bottom to the end of my reply, above the original message I received. Is there any way to insert the signature on top of a reply instead of at the bottom?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've been using Windows mail for more than a year now, without a problem. I
have multiple accounts which I use for my e-mail. Always when I have replied or forwarded an e-mail, the account name that it was received in has automatically been entered in the "from" window. That is, if the mail that I am forwarding was received by account 1 that is the name that would appear in the from box. Now all of a sudden it is entering my default account name, but not with all of my accounts, just one. This has led to problems for me with mailboxes not recognizing the name that the mail is
being sent from. When it started happening I did not notice the mail going out from the wrong account, of course now I change it manually, but it's not the best solution, I'd like to get it back to the way it should be. I've looked through accounts and options, but have not been able to figure what has happened to cause this problem. I'm afraid that it's the dreaded computer gremlins again. This just started yesterday, and has caused me considerable grief if a very short time. If anyone can point me to a
solution I would be very grateful.
