I get my emails into my inbox just fine for the windows. But try to create or reply it tells me error and to check with windows communties. I looked up and down all about windows email but all are asking the same Dang
View 5 RepliesWhen I try to reply, reply all or forward an email either in preview or from an open email nothing happens. Message at the top (Not responding). It seems like the program freezes or there is a very long delay for the reply or forwarded email to appear. If and when it does appear, the email is blank with no text, it is still waiting for the info to load whether there is an attachment or not. When I try to x out, a new window opens giving me the option to restart the program, close or wait for windows mail to respond.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm running Vista and using Windows Mail. I can recieve emails no problem and when I reply to an email it gets the recipient fine. However, if I create a new email and send it goes out of my outbox but the receipient never recieves it. I have spoken to LCN who host my email and they have run tests to hotmail, gmail and business accounts. They say the email get through to the recipient server fine but they cannot track them from there. Trying this myself I can confirm that there are not getting through to regular contacts inboxes at business and webmail accounts and they are not even going to junk mail.
They said to try changing the outgoing to my ISP SMTP details which I did but still no joy. They and my ISP have both said this is all they can do. I've turned off my anti-virus can for outgoing mails as well but still have the problem. Everything was working fine till a few days ago. When I called LCN they said my nameserver needed updating, which they did, and that it would take 24 hrs for the DNS propagation. It's now been 3 days and still the same problem. Email host and ISP say they can't help. I've checked and I'm not on a blacklist.
I just got a new HP PC with Vista. The Windows Mail is brutal! When I hit reply I have to wait forever for the email to open up and I can start typing.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am having problems with creating shortcuts on my desktop. when i select send to desktop (create shortcut) it comes up with the error. Windows could create the shortcut. Check to see if the disc is full.I have over 180 GB free space left. To get things to the desktop i can drag it into the tab section next to the start icon, and then drag onto desktop.But when i do this i am always required to give permission and it creates two desktop icons.i have been having problems with my catalyst control centre but i dont think they are related.

It works fine for the most part, but, if I create an email from Windows Explorer by right-clicking a file and selecting send to-mail recipient, my logo doesn't work when inserted. The rest of the signature is fine, it's just that the logo is missing.

When using Outlook Express I set up an auto reply while i was on vacation and could never turn it off... it has nothing to do with message rules, because I deleted all rules... when i migrated to Windows Mail in Vista... the auto reply still happens... i can't find a way to turn it off...

This operation used to work OK with XP & OE however using Vista & Windows Mail it only pops up a message stating that the program is not associated. Clicking on an email address in a web page using IE8 works fine, it opens up a Windows Mail reply page.
I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 32 (system specs: laptop 2.1 Ghz core 2 duo, 4 gb RAM, 500gb hd (about half full) nvidia 8400M GS, Avira Premium Security Suite). I have had the computer for about a year running fine with 1 main admin account. Now when I need to create an account for another user I cannot create one, either admin or standard. When I create it, using either the control panel or command prompt, it creates the user picture, making the account visible on the control panel user accounts screen, and on logon screen. However, when trying to log into the new account I am greeted with the error "User profile service failed on logon. User profile cannot be loaded." The standard fix for this from various forums is to edit the registry key of the account. However, on going to regedit I see that no key even exists for the account. On further investigation I discover that no user files have been created either. I attempted a system restore, but discovered that all my past restore points were gone, and intruigingly, the computer had stopped createing 24 hour checkpoints. I cannot say for definite whether it was this issue or another one that caused system restore to mess up, as I don't check my system restore all that often. Either way, system restore is not an option. There have been mentions of a full Vista reinstall, though if at all possible I would like to avoid this.

I don't want to create some dummy account just just to log in to join the domain. How do I get past the "Choose a user name and picture" screen and log in as Administrator so I can just install the network drivers and join my domain?

I’m having trouble creating a DVD from AVI files using Windows DVD Maker, When I try and Import an AVI clip into DVD Maker I get a message pop up that says file type is unsupported or corrupt, it does this for all my AVI files, My hunch is that I do not have the correct codec’s, if so does anyone know what codec’s I might need and where to get them from, DVD Maker does support AVI files right ?
My ultimate aim is just to get my AVI movie files onto DVD (for playback on a standalone player) so do not necessarily need to use DVD Maker just thought it would be easier using a built in Microsoft app

One item I cant do without is my footer showing cthe usual "if you recieved this email in error" and all my business contact details including my VAT number. I have by mistake deleted it and want to create a new footer template so with 1 click i can go to it. I have spent hours trying to create a new stationary or edit an existing one. with no luck.
