When I type a message using the Reply function and click Send, the email is greyed out, then disappears. It doesn't surface in any of the local folders.Using Create Mail works as normal.

When using Outlook Express I set up an auto reply while i was on vacation and could never turn it off... it has nothing to do with message rules, because I deleted all rules... when i migrated to Windows Mail in Vista... the auto reply still happens... i can't find a way to turn it off...

I am not able to compose a new mail nor reply to any of the emails. as soon as i hit the reply or reply all button, the window opens up and the MS Vista windows gets busy forever, unless u click close and kill the process.
I can post / reply newsgroup in microsoft news group with my new system (WM + vista), just as exactly this one does. But, I couldn't do so in my university's news group, it only worked fine with my system installed with XP + OE! Is it possible for some news servers do not accept posting / reply from WM / vista (*however, i can't read the newsgroup without any problem...)
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm running Vista and using Windows Mail. I can recieve emails no problem and when I reply to an email it gets the recipient fine. However, if I create a new email and send it goes out of my outbox but the receipient never recieves it. I have spoken to LCN who host my email and they have run tests to hotmail, gmail and business accounts. They say the email get through to the recipient server fine but they cannot track them from there. Trying this myself I can confirm that there are not getting through to regular contacts inboxes at business and webmail accounts and they are not even going to junk mail.
They said to try changing the outgoing to my ISP SMTP details which I did but still no joy. They and my ISP have both said this is all they can do. I've turned off my anti-virus can for outgoing mails as well but still have the problem. Everything was working fine till a few days ago. When I called LCN they said my nameserver needed updating, which they did, and that it would take 24 hrs for the DNS propagation. It's now been 3 days and still the same problem. Email host and ISP say they can't help. I've checked and I'm not on a blacklist.
I have never been able to successfully use Windows Mail away from my own home. I can receive messages but cannot send them. How do I set up an account when traveling that lets me get the full function of Windows Mail?

I can send a new email to these people just fine but cannot use the "reply to" feature.

This operation used to work OK with XP & OE however using Vista & Windows Mail it only pops up a message stating that the program is not associated. Clicking on an email address in a web page using IE8 works fine, it opens up a Windows Mail reply page.
When I try to reply, reply all or forward an email either in preview or from an open email nothing happens. Message at the top (Not responding). It seems like the program freezes or there is a very long delay for the reply or forwarded email to appear. If and when it does appear, the email is blank with no text, it is still waiting for the info to load whether there is an attachment or not. When I try to x out, a new window opens giving me the option to restart the program, close or wait for windows mail to respond.

In OE, the thing I'm asking about effectively it got rid of the mail folders (inbox, sent items etc). I use Outlook 2007 for my default email. I have deleted all email accounts in Windows Mail, but would like to know if there is a similar function as with OE.

Running Vista on an HP...When I get the pop up to compact the mail I click OK and it gets about 3 quarters of the way thru and I get the message Windows Mail has stopped working and Windows is searching for an answer. The answer was DEP (Data Execution Protection)was shutting it down to protect my computer..What's the problem??? Norton internet Security up to date and nothing found with complete system scan..Vista up to date as well.

View 5 Replies View RelatedVista Business, windows mail. Problem receiving. Receive hangs on one of the messages. I now have a number of messages received mulitple times, Windows mail then gets to 'receiving message 7 of (currently) 21, and hangs. Sometime I get an error saying that the server has timed out. (No response for a minute) Was Perfectly OK last week. (and for a few weeks since getting my new laptop with Norton!)
it downloads the first 6 messages, gets stuck and times out on the 7th, with or without Norton. And of course, since it gets stuck, doesn't clear from the server, which is why the first six keep coming down. I think I am now on SP1, have uninstalled Norton to no effect. I think the problem mail has an Access attachment about 2 meg in size. Anyway, was OK last week, not now. receive is from oneandone, send from either oneandone or eclipse makes no difference.
I like to go back from time to time and see when I sent an email When I click on sent mail folder, windows mail goes off. Cannot look at sent mail, it quits working and reloads whats up?

I need to send pics in email size but when I right click and push send to mail recipient it asks what size (I choose the size) and then I click attach and it acts like its resizing the picture but then just disappears...it never gets attached. just goes away! View 2 Replies View RelatedI have some Dell laptops (d830, d620, d630) that has problems with the wireless networkcard (Intel Wireless 4965 AGN). Very often it stops to function after the computer has been to sleep. The wireless icon still apears in the bottom right corner with a red cross over it. When you click it it says that it's connected with limited access. The wireless card will not apear when you run ipconfig If you disconnect it will not connect successfully again It seems like it manages to find all availble networks, but you can not connect successfully to any of them.
I have tried to install this fix reagardless that I already have SP1, but this won't install. Probley because it has already been applied. Also tried the Regedit workaround mentioned in the KB. I have set the power option to high preformance, but it still happends when the computer is manual set to sleep.

I turned off my windows firewall and my antivirus firewall also. In my antivirus i dont have a email scanning option
It's not even listed under my user name, as if it was deleted. Sorry if this is a duplicate. I am a new user on this forum. I am having problems with being able to send email with Windows Mail on a Toshiba laptop. It is running Vista Home Premium 64-bit OS. My ISP is Centurytel and the computer is having the problems on a university network (daughter's computer). University & Centurytel IT personell say all the settings are correct and it should be working fine. Mail can be received, just not sent, with or without anti-virus (Trend Micro) & spyware (SpySweeper) turned on. Here is the message I get when attempting to send mail:

When I hit "reply all" on an e-mail it replies to some of the recipients, but not all of them.
View 4 Replies View RelatedLike lots of other people last week I suddenly couldn't send mail using Windows Mail and Vista Premium. Can delete unsent messages from Outbox ok and have today downloaded and run Norton Uninstall. At about the time email out stopped a Norton panel aaying I was about to load updates appeared which I cancelled immediately, (I originally used Norton 4 months ago but uninstalled and went to AVG), Norton appeared in Programs and would not uninstall but a System Recovery to the day before removed it from program list.

when I open Windows mail - to make matters worse I use a French version! When I open Windows mail, the column on the left which normally shows all mail box files doesn't appear. If I click on "dossiers local" which is the main list of all files in Windows mail, then the full list of files comes up on the right hand side. I then have to click one by one on each title for it to be transferred to the left hand side (sorry for the non-computer language). I have looked at the French forum but can't find a solution. I amalso trying to find out what OS I'm using (64 bit or 32 bit) so I can download an update which might fix the problem Can anyone assist. Plus which, certain emails have "This message can't be sent" "a problem has been encountered". I'm completely stuck on what to do!

Strangely, whenever I Google (or Bing) "Windows Mail Download" I get steered to Windows Live Mail. I really want the 2006 vintage "old" Windows Mail Program. The "About" section of the installed program shows a 2006 copyright and tells me I have version 6.0xxx installed. That's what I need - another download of the same product.
