Emails Received And Sent To Be Sorted Based On Date Received And/or Sent

Dec 16, 2009

My Microsoft Mail in Vista moves received and sent emails in a very odd manner. Rather than keep emails sorted strictly by date received and/or sent, the emails are moved. For example, if I reply to an email received and it had a subject line, a return email may be buried deep based on who sent the original and the subject. This makes finding the emails very difficult. I would like all emails received and sent to be sorted based on date received and/or sent, similar to Outlook.

Can Not Reply To Emails

Jun 4, 2009

I seem to have an intermittent problem where colleagues attempt to reply to my email but it won't send from their end (no error message). But it only occurs intermittently (at times using the reply tool does work) and has happened from 3 or 4 colleagues who work in different organisations.

Emails Not Received By Recipient

May 30, 2008

Whenever I send out an email with a picture or any kind of attachment including word documents through Windows mail, it says the email was sent, but it isn't being recieved by the recipient. Then I get a Norton symantec pop up saying this problem does not occur often, their support team have not been able to reproduce the error, and it also says that the error message is actually caused by a problem on the cpu itself. When I clicked the "run it now" button to run a Symantec administrative tool it states that I must be logged into an administrative account to complete this action, but I am! The only info it gave was this: Module 1003, Error ID 9, Build Symantec. I have Norton Antivirus 2007 and I ran a full scan and I don't have a virus. I'm about to throw this cpu out the friggin' window! Is there anyone out there who knows why it's doing this? My last resort is to bring it in to the geek squad to see if they can fix it.

Double Emails Received

Apr 17, 2009

I am running Windows Mail, on Vista. I have Charter Internet as the provider. I have two different email accounts. I have no rules set...never had. I have had these accounts for 5 years. I bought this computer 2 years ago. No changes have been made and all the sudden I am receiving each email 2x's in the inbox and junk mail folders. It is not just from a few people, and not them sending twice. IT is from EVERYONE for the last few weeks. I have 2 emails accounts. When I go to email accounts under tools it shows only 2 accounts. _They_are_not_listed_twice...._ I have Norton Virus protection always had. Nothing has been changed.

Can't Open Attachments Received In Emails

Jul 29, 2009

I cannot believe what a mess your operating system is. I can't even open attachments received in my emails because your silly system is so poorly designed. I think it may be time to scrap my new HP system and go out an buy a real computer from Apple. If Bill Gates had to compensate Windows users for all the time wasted dealing with his damned OSs, he would for sure not be the world's richest man, and deservedly so. I'm fed up.

Default From Email Address Not Changing While Replying To Emails Received On Others

Feb 25, 2010

I have several email accounts configured on my windows mail on my Vista home premium and one of them is configured as the default email. When I reply to emails received on email accounts other than the default email the "from" email address does not change to the email address of the received account.

I understand that the email address in the "from' field when I start a "new" message or create mail is that of the configured default email. My question is while replying to an email received in other configured accounts should not the "from" field email id change from the default email id to the email address of the email to which is replied.

Auto-identify Country Source Of Emails Received Via Software Addin

Jan 12, 2010

We are looking for a software or add-in that can be installed within Vista Mail and that would automatically identify the country of origin of each email received... for example by showing a small country flag icon beside each incoming email within our mailbox.

We need to quickly filter spam and competitor emails from certain countries. At present, we do it manually by copy pasting the header of a suspicious mail into a website online that looks up the country of origin for us. So we would like to know of any add-in that automates this process, paid or otherwise, or any alternatives that people are using for this kind of problem.

Reply, Reply All Or Forward An Email (Not Responding)

May 4, 2008

When I try to reply, reply all or forward an email either in preview or from an open email nothing happens. Message at the top (Not responding). It seems like the program freezes or there is a very long delay for the reply or forwarded email to appear. If and when it does appear, the email is blank with no text, it is still waiting for the info to load whether there is an attachment or not. When I try to x out, a new window opens giving me the option to restart the program, close or wait for windows mail to respond.

Reply Using Defautl Account

Mar 23, 2008

Using Windows Mail. I have a number of laptops that have two email accounts set up on them, the default one is for the office, using one ISP for the outbound
messages, and the second account, which uses a different ISP for the outbound messages. Both accounts have the same details for their inbound. I have managed to set the default account to the office one, which when creating new messages works fine. The problem starts on the Reply to a message...this always defaults to the second account. All I can see that may be doing this is that in the list of accounts, the second account was created first, even though it is not set at the
default. I don't want to delete the account and then recreate it, making it the
second on the list, as when the laptops are taken out of the office then the other email account will be set as the default one.

Firefox, Waiting On Reply And Nothing Happens

Dec 13, 2008

I tried going to 64bit a little over a week ago, and it was unstable, crashing and all kinds of things. So I went back to 32bit on Sunday evening. The problem I'm having is that half the time my websites will load. Like when I click on Firefox, it's waiting on a reply in the bottom left corner and doesn't do anything. Nothing happens at all. Same with IE7. What I don't get is why, when I rebooted my computer just now, it popped right up no problem, but most of the time it stops in mid process like it forgot where it was going. I know my system is caching and all that again, but the net is still not working correctly. I've released and renewed ip, I've uninstalled and reinstalled and all kinds of things, but it's still doing it more often than not.

Insert The Signature On Top Of A Reply Instead Of At The Bottom?

Apr 29, 2008

I created a signature in windows mail and it is inserted in every mail and reply at the bottom of the mail. However, I always reply on top of a message so that the person who receives my reply doesn't need to scroll down to read the (latest) reply. Now, I have to move the signature from the bottom to the end of my reply, above the original message I received. Is there any way to insert the signature on top of a reply instead of at the bottom?
