many emails I receive have been reforwarded several times and often contain verticle blue lines, from top to bottom and varying lengths, and seem to correspond with each of the times the email has been forwarded. This is annoying. How do I stop the verticle blue lines?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was listening to the 911 call about the chimp attacking the woman in Conn. when all at once my computer screen had these horizontal lines running all across the screen!!I wasn't watching the video ,just listeneing to the audio,after about 12 0r 13 minutes is when this happened,it was in full screen mode with a picture of the chimp on it. It was just a picture, no moving or anything. This has happened before,(just the lines are a new development) it never shut off it,this time, just stopped responding. what could have caused this?? When im playing games and running my benchmark system i get invisible lines going from left to right on my display. i can see the lines whenever my player moves. i have also seen a decrease in frames per second. its a sony vaio laptop. the drivers are the most updated and changing stuff in the 3D section of the control center DOeSNT.

It looks like the resolution decreased and it even has these small horizontal lines flashing you can notice when you look real close to it. It resembles ?static?. To fix it, I can go to the nVidia control panel and switch the monitor configuration and then hit ?No? when it asks me if I want to keep the setting But then it will come back again later at random it seems.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThis may actually be a Linksys problem, but I hope there's a workaround in Vista. Linksys wireless print server; network of computers (mostly Vista 32, some XP, one Vista 64, one Linux) that print through it to an HP LaserJet 1200 printer using HP PCL 5 drivers. All print jobs are OK, but many of them (somewhat unpredictably) are preceded by a junk page containing a couple of lines of PCL commands ("PJL COMMENT" and the like).
It is not clear whether the junk page is the beginning of the job or the tail end of the previous job -- thus I'm not even sure which computers are generating it. I think the former. That is, I think it is a set of PCL comments sent at the beginning of the job. Linksys drivers are not on the PCs. Instead I print through LPR or RAW protocol (both give the same results) on a TCP/IP port as recommended by Linksys.
I have tried the WinPrint print processor and 2 versions of the HP print rocessor. This seems to slightly change what's on the junk pages but not eliminate them. Printing several jobs in succession from the same computer, I usually don't get junk pages in front of them. But the actual conditions are hard to pin down. Trying to run around and try all the combinations is very tedious
When I type a long article in Notepad & paste into WindowsMail line breaks become messed up, forcing me to go back to editing "business" and click/delete redundant line breaks as often as there're lines in a document, if it's 1000 lines, go ahead and spend time clicking for an hour! This make plain text editor unworkable In Vista +WindowsMail environment, due to weird linebreaks handling. Why do I claim it to be weird? BECAUSE IT WAS PERFECT IN WindowsXP. I could create a simple ad/artcile in Notepad, copy/paste into OutloookExpress --> Newsgroup posting or Email, and no linebreaks stupidity. Another hemorrhoid in Vista, sometimes I have a forbidden thought: If WinXP could live for another 10 years albeit with security updates & new hardware drivers that would be nice. When I hear "Vista" it causes heartburn.
View 9 Replies View RelatedProblem Blue Screen. No new hardware or software installed recently, last Windows vista update was on 01/15. When I start first, PC passes user registration (boots fine) and
does the normal stuff like loading software and starting the wireless internet connection via Netgear, opening some windows/programms I will close. All normal, but than comes a Blue Screen and very fast shut down of system with restart. Hardly can read the message...Look like Blue Screen appears when to much action is going on like opening of IE and Outlook... or open to many windows... or some bad programm/hardware is booting. But when I restart, restart gives a different blue screens and trouble is much earlier or directly after registering to the system.
But all starting or booting turn slower, real slow now. Start in --safe mode with net working-- the PC works, but the PC can't handle heavy workloads, is really slow in action. I cannot open --My pictures-- to see all picture files displyed on screen (2.7 GB) (the process trying to access the files in safe mode is real slow) and when I attempt to transfer the file to a USB stick, the computer is stopping in middle of action (after 50% transfer)..........
I've been doing a clean install of Vista x64 for about a week and have been getting many random blue screens of deaths yesterday I did another clean install and only had about 4 drivers or so installed and I got a BSOD but no dump file was created for some reason so I kept installing more drivers and it work for about 4 hours till it crahsed again this time it gave me a dump file so here are the results.......

Working beautifully for many months, and then a few
weeks ago this began happening:
Perhaps 2-3 times a week, and with no consistency of circumstances, a blue screen will appear. It might happen while working or when returning from hibernate. There's a countdown as memory is stored, and then a freeze. The only way to recover is to do a hard OFF (5 seconds on the power switch) and restart. When it first happened, I had not installed or changed anything, so I was comfortable doing a restore. It happened again.
It's confusing because the stated cause is inconsistent. I've checked to ensure that all drivers are updated and nothing that's contraVistarian is installed. What analytical steps can I undertake to discover what's causing this, and then to help me make the necessary changes?
I am unable to receive emails on windows email but i can send them fine.

Every time i delete and block the emails address i get another from another email address generated. Its obviously spyware, I have run AVG and spybot and it hasnt fixed the problem. I cant adjust my spam filters cause sometimes theres important emails which get IDd as SPAM by accident. Is there anyway to fix this?

However the folder for email is now on his desktop, and is called Old Email backup. I know that one of these days he is going to delete it and wonder where his email went. What is the default folder it should have created the email in? I will move it there.

Control panel default settings will not allow option to disable Windows Mail. (grayed out). Register Hotmail software says only Vista but I am using Vista. But if I do a select all the blank space turns blue as if something is there. When I get mail from ex. USAJobs, the entire body of the email is blank. Some others the text directing me to "having trouble viewing this email click here" and then it takes me to their website. I have the block pics box unchecked and I am running vista with PCTools Spyware doctor. Also email from friends and family the pictures show up with no problems. The only problem I am having is from commercial sites. And yes I even added them to my allow list.

I now have a brand new HP m9100z and can not get email to work at all. My other machine is an HP s3123w aka "slimline". Both run windows vista home premium. On the slimline, email works just fine. On the new machine, nadda. Zip, zero. Can not get email to work using any client I have.
Thunderbird, windows mail, forte agent, all say "login failed". Even though both machines are setup exactly the same. The difference in the two machines is that the new one now has a wifi card and dual ntsc tuners. My domain works fine through browsers so I can get email through the website. Just can't do it on this machine. So what tricks can I try to get email to work?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have 4 computers, all have Windows XP. I recently replaced the 1st which was my Laptop with a Dell XPS that runs Vista. Since then my email accounts started having problems. I can only receive email on one account. but was able to receive all email accounts one the main Desktop which is wired to the router. Now I have replaced this desktop with a new one it also runs Vista, and now the same thing has happened; I only receive email from one account. I tried deleting all accounts and set them all up again same problem. I have MS Office 2003 which has office outlook and it to does the same thing. I tried deleting accounts on both trying to single out the possibility of conflict, but still no luck.
