Cannot View Images In Yahoo Mail
Apr 23, 2008In Vista home premium, some emails have images not displayed. There is a small box with a red x.Right clicking,show picture, does not help. My pc skills are limited.

Corruption Of Images On Thumbnail View
Mar 26, 2008I have ended up with damaged and/or destroyed JPEG images due to the thumbnail icon feature and/or Photo Gallery. The condition can be created as follows:
1. Browse to a folder containing JPEG images.
2. Do nothing... as Vista generates the thumbnails, it struggles, and only "half" of it is created (see below).
3. When the image is opened, it is corrupted.
My understanding is that generating a thumbnail should not alter the original image in anyway. However, a thumbnail that was generated fine once before for an image that was fine once before.... yields something like this, which was formerly a perfect picture of my wiener dog's nose Not sure why this is happening. I've run all sorts of hard drive diagnostics (even though this problem affects files I view on flash drives etc. also), virus/spyware scanners (everything clean), and yet nothing has been found to explain this phenomenon................
No Images In Windows Mail
Sep 21, 2009Up until a few days ago everything was fine with my Windows Mail application, but suddenly I can't see any images in my mails even after clicking the bar at the top that says: *-"Some pictures have been blocked to help prevent the sender from identifying your computer. Click here to download pictures."-* Has anybody any idea how to deal with this problem?

Oct 15, 2009Having had no mail problems previously, following the installation of 16 Windows Updates today I find that suddenly none of my Windows Mail messages contain any images (not even a red X). I've checked the security settings, but they haven't changed. The only Windows security product I'm using is Defender's Firewall, whle virus and spyware checking is from AVG (Free). I'm running on Vista Home Premium SP2 (32-bit).

Mar 17, 2009Have to applaud VistaForums and the resource it provides. There are many posts on this and I'm still stumped. Hope someone can assist on this.. Using Windows Mail..I can receive links from others but when I *send* a LINK..(www.yahoo.com' //www.espn.com/), my receipients can not see the site. Neither can I for that matter when I go look at the email I just sent. Aug 28, 2008To anyone having the same problem sending with Yahoo here is my solution.
Choose Tools then Accounts, highlight your account that you are having problems with, click Properties, then under the Security tab change the Algoritham setting to DES, click apply then exit tools.
Now send an E-Mail and it works.
The above setting will revert back to its original one but you can still send mails, whereas before you couldnīt.
Must have been a gltch in Windows Mail.
Dont forget incoming port (pop3) 995, outgoing port (smtp) 465.

Mar 23, 2008Cannot get Windows mail to connect to my Yahoo POP3 server. Contacted Yahoo and we installed telnet and successfully connected to the servers through there. Old computer had Outlook express connected to the same account and I had no problems. Have checked the setting numerous times to insure they are correct. Have tried different port 's and different configurations - get different error messages but still no luck. Have checked all the firewalls (only have one on) and it has been configured to let Windows Mail have full access.

Window Mail Can't Download View Attachement
Apr 23, 2008Vista and Office 2003, I have 4 accounts on this computer that all connect to the same email account in Windows Mail. Everything was fine but now when I log onto one of the Windows accounts and go to Windows Mail I can't download or view attachements. When I try to download them it says I don't have enough disk space (90Gigs free) and the .pps icons aren't even the same as they are when I open that same email account with the other Windows accounts. Seems to be some sort of file association mix up or something. but I cant even download them which is weird? I hope I didn't make this too complicated and I hope to hear from someone soon!

Aug 12, 2009Talking about preview images . Today i was running out of space on my disk and i cleaned some stuff.. You know, i can't remember the name right now but it is a ballon that recommends you to clean some unecessary programs.
The problem is , i erase something that made me preview images without opening.

WPG Not Displaying B&W Images Correctly
Jul 26, 2009I have an issue with Windows Photo Gallery and viewing black & white images. The problem I am having is the white parts of the image seems to have an almost light blueish tint, and the black parts look like they were done using dark blue ink.
The thumbnail for the image, as well as opening it in paint and opening it in slideshow displays the image correctly.
So far, I attempted to fix this problem myself by changing my ICC profile in the color management settings multiple times, even rebooting my pc for some of the changes, as well as uninstalling my monitor drivers, with unsuccessful results. I do not know if this is an issue with my OS, my monitor, or my video card.
Images Are All Squished Vertically
Sep 1, 2009I recently did a clean install of Vista 64bit and installed an ATI Radeon HD 4350 card at the same time. I'm running a Dell LCD monitor at 1600x1200, its native resolution. I have checked the device manager and there are no warnings associated with the card and I have checked to be sure that I have the latest driver. Until the Vista install, I was using Windows XP Pro with no distortion. I had a gForce graphics card which was not supported in Vista. I'm a photographer and don't play any computer games. The problem is that all the images are squished some vertically. Even round graphics like circles are somewhat distorted vertically.
