Cannot Send Emails From Windows Mail After Entering Yahoo Details

I cannot send emails using windows email. I have vista premium home ed I can receive emails. I have changed port settings for outgoing emails to 465 and ticked ssl
every time i send emails thru microsoft i get that smtp is not a valid server, i use yahoo.com, and my account i have is yahoo.com. Yahoo states that smtp is a connection which confuses me, what server do i need?
just wondering if anyone has any ideas for why windows mail is preventing me from sending mail. it is currently linked to my Yahoo (UK) pop3 account, and it works for receiving mail, but i cannot send any messages. any tips? i've been in contact with Yahoo Cust. services and they said that it worked and they could receive my messages to them, but it doesn't work, then they said it was a mail client provider problem.
I decided to try and set up Windows Mail on my laptop for my "ntlworld" (which is my ISP although it is now Virgin Media) email accounts; which seemed to have worked as it received all my emails. Although I have discovered when I have tried to send an email it wont, generating this error:

One thing I would say is I am acctually away from home at the moment, so I am using internet in another house which is provided by a different ISP - could this be the problem as I have used Outlook Express on my PC at home for these same accounts and have had no problems.

This is the error message I get when I try to send emails. Up until a couple of days ago I have been able so send emails fine but now it has stopped working. Any idea of how I can fix this and send emails again?

I have moved to malta from scotland. Since moving I am unable to send emails with windows mail. I can receive ok. I use lineone.net to receive. I think the problem may lie in changimg my internet provider which is Melita. so should my incoming read lineone and the outgoing be the melita network which I think is onvol. My computer skills are basic so easy answers please. I have to use tiscali all the time but it takes longer to read my mail because of all the adverst etc downloaded along with the mail. Windows is obviously quicker if only I could send them.
Have my own domain and can't send emails to my 2nd user account or to myself using Windows Mail. Added my domain to the safe senders list but it still just black-holes. No errors ion the log, nothing indicating there is a problem. If I use another client the mail goes thru just fine.

I cannot receive Yahoo e-mail in Windows Mail. I've added the e-mail addresses to my safe senders list, but the messages never come through at all. I've checked the junk mail folder and deleted items, but the e-mails from yahoo accounts just disappear without ever getting to me. I sed my yahoo email address and password when setting up my windows mail account. Now all of my yahoo emails are being transfered to my windows mail account, starting with mail from several years ago. move these emails back to my yahoo account and b) to stop emails from transfering to my windows mail account. As soon as I open windows mail this is what happens.
To anyone having the same problem sending with Yahoo here is my solution.
Choose Tools then Accounts, highlight your account that you are having problems with, click Properties, then under the Security tab change the Algoritham setting to DES, click apply then exit tools.
Now send an E-Mail and it works.
The above setting will revert back to its original one but you can still send mails, whereas before you couldnīt.
Must have been a gltch in Windows Mail.
Dont forget incoming port (pop3) 995, outgoing port (smtp) 465.

Cannot get Windows mail to connect to my Yahoo POP3 server. Contacted Yahoo and we installed telnet and successfully connected to the servers through there. Old computer had Outlook express connected to the same account and I had no problems. Have checked the setting numerous times to insure they are correct. it asks my email address and password over and over. I use the same email address and password to log directly into yahoo mail, with no problem, so I know what I'm entering is correct.
I have recently set up a new windows mail account and have spoken to my ISP and have upgraded account to now send emails. I then changed the outgoing server as my ISP is currently BT and this is what theeir website says. When I try to send emails then, I get the windows security logon. When I enter my username and password, it just keeps reappearing as if I have entered it incorrectly. I have rechecked the details in properties and I am entering them correctly. When I cancel the logon screen, I get a blank error.
