View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a vista computer that has it's own email. My provider is MSN and I bought an email service. I have directions from all three on how to set up pop3 on outlook. None of them will complete without errors and I can't send or receive emails in outlook. I realize I have to have correct user and passwords and those I have. There are different incoming and outgoing directions for all three.

Outlook stopped receiving email on 30 Apr. I tried to uninstall MS Office as suggested by HP, but get an error: Can't access network location of %APPDATA%. I have an HP Pavilion dv9000 laptop with Windows Vista x64 and MS Office 2007 Outlook. I've spent hours w/ HP and AT&T tech support, but can't resolve the problems (Email & %APPDATA%). HP wants me first to restore my laptop to its originally shipped configuration (I'd prefer not to if I can) and AT&T wants $99 for advanced support.

I have an Outlook account on my old computer which ran Windows XP and i tried to switch it over to my new computer which runs vista. My first problem is that none of my mail or address book downloaded. i can get over that. But I cant receive any mail. I can send it though. Ive always had little quirky problems with Outlook but now it has a Vista twist. Here is that message I get:
Account: 'erica', Server: 'pop3.catalog.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR authorization first', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC18
I have added Windows mail as an accepted program in Windows Firewall. I have unistalled Norton Virus. Ive removed the account twice and readded it. I have contacted support for Outlook, They say my anti virus program may need to be set up to accept Windows mail but I think Ive done that now by changing the Firewall. I read on here that maybe I should switch to a Windows live account but email address is a buisness account so can i just switch servers?
I have an AT&T Yahoo! wireless set up. I can get to the Internet. I have set my POP and SMTP servers to the port numbers and secure connection settings in Outlook as instructed by AT&T Yahoo. However, I cannot get my e-mail to send or receive in Outlook. A tech told me to set up the Windows Mail to correct the problem but that just caused more problems because now my e-mail downloads from the server to Windows mail.
1) disable Windows mail and 2) find the patch I need for Vista to work with my AT&T Yahoo! e-mail account?

setting up windows mail on new hard drive and can't seem to figure out how to get it right. I am using a live.com email adress. I have already tried getting rid of antivirus stuff and fiddling around with security things. When i click send/receive mail it goes through and tells me i have no new emails which i know isn't true, i have 10 sitting online. I emailed myself and got a new email online so i know i can send them. When i click pop3.live.com under the send/recieve all button it gives me this error: The connection to the server has failed. View 5 Replies View RelatedThis infuriating situation occurred exactly one month after receiving the new computer with Vista Home Premium already installed. My old computer is connected as a small network. When the problem initially occurred on 7th June it said "Receiving 1 of 8" but never did and after a while (1/2 to 1 hr?) I logged off and logged on again but to no avail. I thought maybe a big photo or something was coming in but nothing eventuated. I accessed my email via Optus Web Mail and saw that there was nothing there bigger than 493KB. The main error message I receive is - Account: 'mail.optusnet.com.au', Server: 'mail.optusnet.com.au', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC19
I have telephoned Optus (Australia) 5 times but they insist it is a Windows Mail corruption problem. No one was able to tell me what this error message actually means. Another issue that may also be connected was when I downloaded a trial version of a home video editing programme. It cut the 30 day trial by about 8 days, finishing on June 1st. June the first I thought? Why June 1st? I asked on the forum but they could not explain why.
