I booted ny notebook for the first time in 29 days tonight. I tried read/sending email with Windows Mail. An error kept popping up that included "inactivity" as one possible cause.Is this for real? Why would it matter how long it has been since I used Windows Mail. Eventually, I removed, them added back, pointer to the outbound server. But mail does not get sent right away.

The answer was DEP (Data Execution Protection)was shutting it down to protect my computer..What's the problem??? Norton internet Security up to date and nothing found with complete system scan..Vista up to date as well.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a laptop running Vista Home Premium 32 bit. It's fairly new (~1 month) and has pretty much had this issue since day 1. If you leave the laptop idle for a "fairly long" period of time, it will lose connectivity to other machines on the local network. It will do it frequently overnight, but not always, so it's hard to pinpoint when/how long.
Here are the symptoms:
-Mapped drives still show up in explorer, but if you click on one, it hangs FOREVER. I have let it try to connect for several hours and it never gets through
-Using UNC gives the same result
-I can still ping other machines on my local network
-I can still access the internet
-Disabling/enabling the network connection does not help
-Once the issue starts, Windows explorer can not be shut down. You can task-manager-> end process all day and it will not die.
-Once the issue starts, Windows can not be shut down. It will hang on the "logging off" screen for literally hours. The only way to recover from this is to do a hard power down by holding the power button for 10 seconds or so.
Every time I login to my account, windows installer pops up and then this error pops up.
Is there a way I can prevent this from popping up? It started happening last reboot.
I've already tried system restoring. The last thing I did was uninstall a few programs.
I have just been reading previous solutions to this problem and understand it is to do with HP. Unfortunately I do not have a disc to insert as I have changed from XP to Vista and the CD I received with my HP printer is for XP, I therefore downloaded the install of the printer from the HP website for Vista. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this annoying installation window that keeps popping up a million times?

Basically the same as Outlook-06,07 version, but improved. Can send-receive emails, when browsing in the internet or working with word program and reach any contact "email address link" after cliking receive an error it should open new email window? I am having a persistent, but intermittent problem with a reminder screen popping up with say 150 or more 'reminders'.
