what is this popping up during rebooting my computer? During rebooting my computer there is windows popping up tells me that Microsoft Windows - Dashboard Module has stopped working. A program caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
I am having a persistent, but intermittent problem with a reminder screen popping up with say 150 or more 'reminders'. All of which are overdue, and none of which were actually set as I do not set them. It pretty much locks up outlook, I click on dismiss repeatedly and it keeps coming up. Office version 2007.
I reformatted by Dell Inspiron 1721 laptop a couple of months ago and everything's been working perfectly until a Windows SP2 update automatically installed itself last week - now Windows Media center opens up constantly (very distracting); I've removed it from services and from startup, but it continues to pop open....

my yahoo messenger keeps popping up on the monitor. I close it but shortly it pops up again. Kind of annoying. It never did this before just the last couple of days. I've had it on my computer for a long time and no problems before.

I delete it all the time, but it always comes back within minutes and I have no idea what program is causing it do to this..It is a custom music folder that I had made, but no music is inside anymore. I work from home and usually listen to radio 1 via the internet. Ever since I have installed Vista Ultimate 32bit I get a annoying popping sound while surfing the internet. Pop up blocker is switched off! I have attached a .wav file for you to have a gander at
I have no idea why Real Player is popping up randomly. Not when I boot up from a shutdown or restart, just doing usual business on my laptop. I imagine you want me to take note when this happens, but it is really strange behavior. I thought my default player was Windows Media Player, but I could have changed that because I was having problems gettng my iPod to sync.
I'm stumped.... Whenever vista loads up, it brings the windows boot manager and makes me have to press enter to boot into vista. If I press tab, it gives me the option to get into windows memory diagnostic. How do I disable all of this to boot straight into vista without having to press enter? this is vista home. I tried all, looked around and nothing!
I booted ny notebook for the first time in 29 days tonight. I tried read/sending email with Windows Mail. An error kept popping up that included "inactivity" as one possible cause. Is this for real? Why would it matter how long it has been since I used Windows Mail. Eventually, I removed, them added back, pointer to the outbound server. But mail does not get sent right away.
A few months ago, I had that lovely virus called Antivirus 2010. It got so bad that eventually, whenever I turned my Intel Pentium laptop on, the screen would just be black and there would be nothing except the virus window popping up with all the 'viruses' I had on my computer. Of course, a few other programs stopped running normally. The dock and widgets were gone. I had to create associations, which I never succeeded at, and this was all becoming way too frustrating. But I got by...
Last night, I decided to connect my HDMI cord to the laptop and watch a few episodes of Lost with my friends. Now, the HDMI button ('F8') wasn't working properly after my little mishap a few months earlier. When I pressed it, the usual, nice little pictures of different laptop-tv settings did not appear. Instead, I tried FN+ALT+F8. This seemed to work. But after we finished, I couldn't get the screen to return to normal again. It's all fuzzy and big, as if I was still connected to the tv.
** I tried personlization, and fizing screen resolution and stuff. It made things a little better, but the screen STILL isn't the same. Funny thing though. When I use print screen, the screen looks NORMAL. This morning, I rebooted my laptop. (Probably the stupidest thing I've ever done) I thought everything would be back to normal, but the screen is still the same, the nice little extras about Vista I was missing before have not returned, and my internet connection is gone.
I have just been reading previous solutions to this problem and understand it is to do with HP. Unfortunately I do not have a disc to insert as I have changed from XP to Vista and the CD I received with my HP printer is for XP, I therefore downloaded the install of the printer from the HP website for Vista. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this annoying installation window that keeps popping up a million times?
Every time I start thinking Vista is not so bad I make the mistake of trying to connect to another Vista computer. Although all sharing/permissions are properly set and it worked the last time it will not work when needed again without rebooting one or more computers. This is why mine and nearly every business on the face of the Earth has not adapted Vista: it is totally unsuitable for mission critical networks of any size. XP is far from perfect but it is orders of magnitude more stable for networking. Vista SP3 or whatever name Microsoft thinks they can peddle the same schlock under is a deader than dead issue already because it is nothing but Vista with a marginally different GUI and with the economy the way it is who gives a rat's behind about it anyway?
I have a computer running Vista Ultimate w/ all the latest updates (including SP1) and latest drivers/bios from the manufacturer and my computer looks like it is rebooting randomly in the middle of the night. I noticed I leave it on all the time and my apps are closed. When I look in the event log, it says: The previous system shutdown at 4:02:19 AM on 5/13/2008 was unexpected. I also checked if there are any memory dumps and there aren't any. I'm stumpted why this is happening if this is due to a hardware failure or a software/driver crash related issue.
i have seen this problem somewhere in this forum, tried rebooting several times, plugged in,plugged in after reboot with no luck,i have right clicked pc, computer manager, then disc management, and it is there, when i click the box to the left it of it say's working properly. i have windows vista premium 32-bit.

I have a Toshiba Satellite P105 than runs on Vista Home Premium 32bit.
I bought the computer used, so it already came partitioned, and without any CDs.
I'm fairly competent in my computer skills; I just need someone to tell me how to remove the partition(which is a (D:) drive) and reboot my pc without a CD.
I am at work trying to fix a clients Vista 32 Home Premium Lenovo laptop. Model number 0768. We have tried all of the Windows boot options that are offered. We have also tried to repair the install. I would like to get the system stable enough to run chkdsk and memtest utilities. If anyone has any advice on procedure please let me know.

my laptop is dell XPS 1530 The message appears when i switch on my laptp "ista constantly rebooting after this week's updates - "Configuring updates stage 3 of 3"
My coputer reboots without warning sometimes, often when i surf the Internet and listen to music (på otherwise as well) When Windows restarts it tries to solve the problem and i get this window that I attached. I have visited Realtek's website and downloaded som drivers but the problem remains the same. Does anyone regognize this problem? What can I do?
I've just instaled SP2 for Vista on a clean install and it constantly keep rebooting, it won't get to the login screen. It's not even booting into Safe Mode. So far the boot goes as far as "Configuring Updates: State 3 of 3 Complete 0%" And then it restarts. The most annoying thing is that I haven't installed any updates, for this to happen. All other updates that need to be done are finished and the computer has rebooted a number of times before hand. I've got all my drivers and such updated but the problem still persists. The only way I can get around it is by reinstalling the OS all over again. I've tried System restore but even with that the problem continues.
I Want to know how i can permanently overclock graphics card like we do the CPU, the core frequency and memory clock? I can overclock it from the nvidia control panel but it does not remain after rebooting...
I am trying to upgrade Windows XP professional to Vista checked build. I run the Upgrade Advisor, it told me my system has no problem to upgrade to Vista. But after Windows told me install is completing, the system keep automaticlly rebooting, rebooting,... During the install, Windows did tell me the system will reboot a lot of times, but how many times? Is this a normal procedure or something wrong with the upgrade? I didn't get any error massage. Can any one tell me what is wrong?
Last night i tried to install vista, but after loading the disc in and rebooting, it went through the windows is copying files bar with the black background, then it went to the green vista loading bar, then it went to a blue/green background with a mouse cursor and said installing windows. I left it there for an hour, and it didnt change. I then rebooted into XP, and ran the installer from windows, where i selected which drive to install to, and then it copied and expanded the setup files. It then rebooted, and after the vista load bar it went to a black screen with a mouse cursor. i left it there for an hour and no change. Ive got new hardware in my computer, and after running the vista compatibility tool it said i'd have no issues running any version of vista. I was trying to install Home Premium btw.
I have a Maxtor basics 1.5TB external hard drive that's running fine on my vista home premium computer but as soon as I reboot or boot the computer vista says "you need to format the disk in drive". If I unplug the hard drive from the mains and plug it back in everything goes back to working perfectly. My question is can I make vista detect it correctly in the first place without me having to reboot the hard drive?
