I Want to know how i can permanently overclock graphics card like we do the CPU, the core frequency and memory clock? I can overclock it from the nvidia control panel but it does not remain after rebooting...

i realize my CPU is kind of a weak link in my set up but i've had excellent results overclocking it until i moved to vista. I previously ran XP Professional SP3 and had the system overclock to 3.1Ghz with no issues. The CPU temp ran at full load around 39C. Before i upgraded to vista i set all system settings back to default did my upgrade and then proceeded to push my overclock again. No matter when i changed my settings to it would show only the 2.8Ghz for processer speed in system settings. According to my motherboard the bus speed and multiplier are set high enough to obtain the 3.1 overclock again but the system settings are showing it only at 2.8Ghz.

View 4 Replies View Relatedi bought a eVGA 9800gtx and it wouldn't overclock.I thought it was my power supply and bought a new one old PSU=420W and 900GTX requires 450 so I bought a 460 and still I cannot overclock. I use rivatuner and set my clocks and click OK then it reverts back to stock. And same with eVGA precision.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm interested in overclocking my rig. I just built the rig from the ground-up a week ago when I got everything in from Newegg. I figured it's time to get over WoW, and start playing CoD4/5 and Crysis, which to be honest, run fine already on my computer. But for some reason I still want to give it a try. Now since this is also the first time I've even considered this, I'm completely confused as to the best way to figure out what to do in my bios to properly overclock my cpu, mobo, ram and gpu. So here are a couple of questions:
A) If I'm already running Crysis at high settings (not sure if I had the demo at the highest or just high), should I even try to overclock my rig? (I plan on installing the Adobe suite to do some web design and flash work now too.)
B) Can anyone direct me to a site where I can find the proper equations for overclocking?
C) Can anyone suggest what they consider is the best temperature monitoring program for all of the components? I downloaded the Monitoring program from Nvidia, but it isn't working properly on my machine? The program spec's on their site name my mobo and gpu as being compatible with the program, but it will not display my gpu and when I try to select it the program crashes.
how can i overclock my cpu (AMD Phenom II X3 710 & Ecs Gf8200a Phenom-2 X4 Quad Core Mboard)? I do have Frequency / Voltage control in the bios. But i have never overclocked before so not sure how to do it correctly.

Temperature was fine
Which ran fine gave it a few tests (prime95) which was all good, but there was a problem with the sleep function if i did it a second time vista would not boot, i would just get a black screen, and twice when i turned the computer on it gave me a overclock failed message, if i restarted it all was good but i was unsure so now im running it stock.
i have been getting a few errors with various programs (java, call of duty 5, crysis) they have been crashing from time to time, the solution centre found a problem and gave me this message "This problem was caused by a compatibility issue between this version of Windows and a chipset in your computer. The chipset was created by Intel Corporation. The model name of the chipset that caused this problem is Intel QuickPath Architecture I/O Hub."...............
As the title says, ive managed to overclock to 3.8ghz really stable in XP. But vista wont take anything. my rig is below the stock fsb is 1333 i put it to 1350 and it still froze. What am i doing wrong, i see people online have overclocked in vista just the same. btw it freezes every time about 30 secs after i see my desktop. Usally just after Nod32 smart securty loads. do you think this could be the problem?
View 7 Replies View RelatedEvery time I start thinking Vista is not so bad I make the mistake of trying to connect to another Vista computer. Although all sharing/permissions are properly set and it worked the last time it will not work when needed again without rebooting one or more computers. This is why mine and nearly every business on the face of the Earth has not adapted Vista: it is totally unsuitable for mission critical networks of any size. XP is far from perfect but it is orders of magnitude more stable for networking. Vista SP3 or whatever name Microsoft thinks they can peddle the same schlock under is a deader than dead issue already because it is nothing but Vista with a marginally different GUI and with the economy the way it is who gives a rat's behind about it anyway?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a computer running Vista Ultimate w/ all the latest updates (including SP1) and latest drivers/bios from the manufacturer and my computer looks like it is rebooting randomly in the middle of the night. I noticed I leave it on all the time and my apps are closed. When I look in the event log, it says: The previous system shutdown at 4:02:19 AM on 5/13/2008 was unexpected. I also checked if there are any memory dumps and there aren't any. I'm stumpted why this is happening if this is due to a hardware failure or a software/driver crash related issue.
i have seen this problem somewhere in this forum, tried rebooting several times, plugged in,plugged in after reboot with no luck,i have right clicked pc, computer manager, then disc management, and it is there, when i click the box to the left it of it say's working properly. i have windows vista premium 32-bit.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've just instaled SP2 for Vista on a clean install and it constantly keep rebooting, it won't get to the login screen. It's not even booting into Safe Mode. So far the boot goes as far as "Configuring Updates: State 3 of 3 Complete 0%" And then it restarts. The most annoying thing is that I haven't installed any updates, for this to happen. All other updates that need to be done are finished and the computer has rebooted a number of times before hand. I've got all my drivers and such updated but the problem still persists. The only way I can get around it is by reinstalling the OS all over again. I've tried System restore but even with that the problem continues.

But after Windows told me install is completing, the system keep automaticlly rebooting, rebooting,... View 4 Replies View RelatedLast night i tried to install vista, but after loading the disc in and rebooting, it went through the windows is copying files bar with the black background, then it went to the green vista loading bar, then it went to a blue/green background with a mouse cursor and said installing windows. I left it there for an hour, and it didnt change. I then rebooted into XP, and ran the installer from windows, where i selected which drive to install to, and then it copied and expanded the setup files. It then rebooted, and after the

I have a Maxtor basics 1.5TB external hard drive that's running fine on my vista home premium computer but as soon as I reboot or boot the computer vista says "you need to format the disk in drive". If I unplug the hard drive from the mains and plug it back in everything goes back to working perfectly. My question is can I make vista detect it correctly in the first place without me having to reboot the hard drive?
