I am trying to watch a video on-line under Vista.(32 bit) I only have a 56k line so the video is very slow. Can I configure Flash to run at 56k? I can't find Flash on my system. Any idea where it is installed?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've checked through other threads and I'm not sure if any one else has this same issue. I suspect the problem comes from a Windows Update. I'm not sure how to reload an update and I'd rather not uninstall and delete and reinstall and change things when I'm not exactly sure what I'm doing. Everything else works fine. Web surfing is smooth, there isn't any problems loading programs ever since I restored factory setting from Gateway, because of the same issue. I had to restore from the hard drive because the disc (Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit SP1) refused to work. I think that's because somehow my computer isn't 32-bit, its 64-bit. Then after going through setup and all the updates, SAME ISSUE!
It could be Media Player, Internet Explorer, or Adobe Flash. I get the feeling its a corrupt update, or one of those programs isn't compatible with Vista 64-bit. Those programs load (Adobe not so well) and I didn't put them there or upgrade them, Windows Update keeps on top of that. Also, this problem may have been there awhile, or just started. I know I just started to notice it. Then I checked with an older version of Windows on a different computer and yeah, that movie trailer loaded and played like mine used to. So I'm almost positive its my system not the website.
I am trying to watch .mov and mp4 video files in wmp and just can't get it to work. I've tried loads of codecs and none of them are working (k-lite codecs pack, x-vid, div-x, 3ivx, ffdshow). I really want them to work in wmp instead of installing another player.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have just brought a Media PC with a en9800GTX video card which has 2 DVI ports, I was told by the supplier that it is meant to be really good and do everything, I was also told when i got the machine that I really needed a HD TV with an HDMI port on the back so I had to go and get a panasonic TH-42PZ80B again being assured that this was what I needed. further to that I had to get a HDMI cable that would connect to the ports of the video card (via a hdmi to DVI converter) again being assured that this was everything I needed. Picture quality is great but there is no sound!
I can plug speakers into the back of the pc (green port with a standard cable) but there is nothing coming out of the TV, I have been told to right click on the sound icon in vista a change the audio to the TV but it is not listed! the media PC was brought on the basis of being speced to the hilt but there seems to be so much conflicting information and nothing works! 4k down and seems that I have brought a donkey!
is there a way to input s-video in media center? like from a x-box? or do you have to have a cable box?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI got the game a few mouths ago and tried the downstairs computer at my dads and it plays really BAD... I tried my dads computer and it play slow but good in till I wanted to save and play online. I made a user and went back to the game to sign in and I had to install a update. I installed it and GUESS WHAT? IT BROKE THE GAME!!! I had to reinstall it and tried again but the game broke again... I played and played till I tried again and it again broke so I had to reinstall, but found out the the DISC 2 WAS A MESSED UP MESS. And one thing I don't know is how it got like that. It was sitting on the table and got barely moved. If I had the right computer. this wouldn't happened. Later on... My dad,my sister, and me went shopping to get a me a game and maybe to get something. I was in the game ale. As it turns out there was not a lot of good games. I spotted the GTA 4 game and I got a idea. I forgot to add I was at Wall-Mart and I was on a boating trip. I went to the computers and found the one that we have in the barn [We didn't had one in the barn yet at start] and look at the the computers specs and asked a few things. I got all of the specs except the video card. It doesn't work with the one in the barn.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Vista Home Premium 64-bit and Windows 7 installed and use the standard Microsoft boot manager from Windows 7 to dual boot. Each operating system is in the first primary partition of a hard drive. No problems. However, I think I need reinstall WinXP so that I can view some old AVI files that use the Intel IV50 codec. For some reason Vista does not like the AVI files and best I can tell the codec add-in only works under WinXP Media Player. What is the best way/program that will allow me to boot either Vista, Windows 7 or Windows XP OR is there a magic bullet to view and convert the old AVI files. I have tried Format Factory and come up empty. No matter what I try the audio works but the video is not available.

This is my grapics card i had it running at like 40C MSI USA – Computer, Laptop, Notebook, Desktop, Mainboard, Graphics and more. Last i took out my video card and went to the on board video and tried that and yet it did not work ether. I tried reformatting thinking it was drivers or something didn't work ether. every time i try installing the OS i get General causes of "STOP 0x0000007F" errors Divide by zero error A divide by zero is caused when a DIV instruction is executed and the divisor is 0. Memory corruption (or other hardware problems) or software failures can cause this. anyone on here who knows XP well let me know im running a diagnostic test right now to find the problem.

I have a quad-boot Intel CoreDuo machine with 4 GB of memory and an ATI AIW X1900 Radeon (multi-booting courtesy of EasyBCD). To put the matter as quickly as possible, all four systems (Vista 32, Vista 64, XP, and Ubuntu) have been happily coexisting for a long time. I haven't used Vista 64 for about 10 days and went in to do some work on it this morning. To my surprise, the video disappeared immediately after the green startup wait indicator. Eventually, after about the usual amount of time and hard disk activity, the startup sound came on but absolutely no video. I restored my full backup of the Vista 64 partition from last Sunday=97 same problem!
I went in on safe mode but it is impossible to change video settings or install new drivers in safe mode so that was a dead end. I tried the repair utility that comes with Vista but it could find no problem with startup. My working hypothesis is that something has gone wrong with the video drivers although that may not be the case. Even if it were, I can think of no way of fixing it short of completely rebuilding the Vista 64 system checked desperately do not want to do
who has purchased a JVC Everio HDD video camera has probably learned that they chose to use some god forsaken proprietary video format - the .MOD extension. Apparently this is some sort of MPEG2 encoding, however, most major video editing suites prefer not to accept this format? what we need is something more common? such as .AVI or .MPG. I would be happy with the .MOD file format if the software that came with the JVC Everio actually worked.

I am running Windows Vista Ultimate and when I stream videos from websites like Gametrailers.com as either a Windows Media or a Quicktime file the video is choppy and has sound issues. If I download the same video there is no choppyness and once the stream is no longer on HTTP and is on CACHE it is fine. I know i have enough bandwidth for the video and under statistics I does not show any errors .I have all the latest drivers and service packs. I have reinstalled Vista as both 32 bit and 64 bit to see if there was some difference. I also have this same issue on my Laptop running Vista.

I have been wracking my brain for weeks now, trying to play C&C First Decade with Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge over the LAN, it will only run on IPX networking which I could setup with 2x XP machines, I have Vista Ultimate on my PC, and XP on another, I found some drivers for IPX to work on Vista, didn't work ... So I loaded Hamachi which had built-in IPX support. Now when I open RA2, it no longer says IPX unavailable, it shows 00 00 00...
So it can see my Hamachi adapter with IPX support, great! The other XP machine has Hamachi installed, and they are both VPN'd (Connected) on the same Hamachi Network. They don't see each other... The XP machine shows a few IPX networks, I have tried switching to them all, even put the Hamachi adapter and the LAN adapter to the top of the preferred networks list. This was sort-of a breeze with both XP, but with Vista it's looking to be a bit tricky. I have no firewalls running on either machine and I am pretty cluey when it comes to networking (TCP/IP that is).
Ive just bought some new headphones yet when i plug them in the sound still comes out of the speakers. I know the headphones do work because i use them with my mp3 player

Configuration of Printer:
Connected via parallel to Vista 32 machine
Printer is configured for sharing and is installed on both machines
test pages print successfully from both machines
Additional notes:
During printer setup on the Vista 32 machine, I attempted to install
additional 64x drivers, but could not locate them, so I skipped this step.
During printer setup on the Vista 64 machine, the shared printers were
identified successfully, and I added the network printer. I was not asked to
install drivers the way I have in the past when adding a local printer.
Printing using the shared printer on the local machine Vista 32 performs
with normal speeds. Printing from the network computer Vista 64 using the
shared printer installed on Vista 32 is extremely slow. Even typing in print
job changes in the print dialog window takes 30 seconds or so for each key
stroke to register a response onscreen.
This is my doubt,
I have 8GB RAM installed (max for my MoBo) and 2 Video Card 512MB.
So this will mean that my Vista Home Premium x64 have to deal with 9GB
RAM.
How can I be sure that it takes full advantage of all RAM?
In My Computer > property shows 8196MB RAM, my doubt is if really when
I am in Crossfire mode, my PC is able to use the 1024MB Video Ram to get
the best performance in 3D Game.
If somebody can give me a way to check and even better to allow Vista
to use all 9024MB it will be great.
Hello, i am thinking of getting a new video card soon, and wanted to know if the card i picked is better than my current one.

i have a gateway md 7818u and i seem to be experiencing a video lag in games. it is almost like i can play almost no games even games that are old and i shoud easily be able to play like half life 2 lag badly like every 3 seconds or so. i also am having this issue on streaming video untill it is loaded but when it is loaded it runs extremely well. even on Internet when the pink bar is far ahead of where i am

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to Media Player 11. I have XP. I downloaded some AVI files and they play, but sound only. Perfect sound, just no picture. They automatically open in WMP just as they should, and I tried right-clicking menus to switch views, but the view is at 100% full screen mode. I get sound, and I get visualizations (like bars and waves, alchemy, etc) instead of the actual movie. I have looked around the forums but don't seem to see anyone having this particular problem. The files are from a P2P site, but I don't think that's the problem as the sound works fine. And mpeg files from the site play fine.
All had been working well until a few days ago. For some reason, now when I double-click a video file, I can hear the audio but I get no video. I must open WMP manually, and then I get the video of what I'm hearing. I used to double-click a video and it automatically opened WMP.
Then, to close WMP, I must stop the video first. Because if I don't, the audio will continue even though the video will not be seen. I then have to re-open the player, stop the video, then close WMP. I used to close the program (X on the WMP) and it would all (video and audio) close,
I'm trying to burn a DVD img file with serveral peices of software and nothing is working. I know the image is good, I viewed it with Alcohol in virtual drive. I have tried Nero, IMG Burn, DVDFab, and a few others. It completes successfully but when I view the disc only the menu works the movie is broken up with mpeg blocking and will not play sufficiently. I also tried it in my x32 machine as well and it did the same thing... What am I doing wrong?

Well, yesterday i bought an iPod touch... So now i need a converter to convert avi to mp4. I tried a couple but it turned out that all of them don't support x64. so does anyone know a good video converting software? it doesn't need to be specifically for converting to ipod, it can be a more complex "all-in-one" converter also.
